Dieter F. Uchtdorf was sustained as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on October 2, 2004. He has served as a General Authority since April 1994. Previously, Elder Uchtdorf served in numerous Church callings, including stake president twice and stake mission president in Germany.
