  • In this episode I am joined by fashion vlogger and fellow ADHD’er Rochelle Gallagher @littleblackheartfashion as we discuss the topic of dopamine chasing. We talk about impulsive behaviours, the thrill of shopping, and the rush of starting new hobbies. Our conversation highlights the challenges and complexities of living with ADHD and the need for self-acceptance. Rochelle shares her personal experience with various dopamine chasing activities and both the positive and negative impacts these behaviours have had. We explore the judgement women face for their impulsive behaviour and the role of social media in seeking validation.

    Key Takeaways:

Dopamine chasing behaviours can manifest in impulsive actions, such as excessive spending and starting new hobbies. These behaviours can provide a temporary rush of excitement and satisfaction, but may also lead to feelings of guilt or regret. Finding humour and camaraderie in shared experiences can help individuals with ADHD navigate the challenges of impulsivity and dopamine chasing. Self-acceptance and understanding one's own patterns of behaviour are important in managing the impact of dopamine chasing. Alcohol can be a harmful vice for individuals with ADHD, as it can exacerbate symptoms and lead to impulsive behaviour. Finding methods to avoid unhealthy vices is a personal journey, and it may involve different approaches for different activities.

Women traditionally may face harsher judgement for their impulsive behaviour in comparison to men
