Making a home your own when you have a baby or toddler? This is the one where Emma and Elliot chat about their story, renting experience, and struggles with buying a house. Not a topic directly about parenting, but something that is affecting us right now (with positives and challenges) - and whether it's more unique to us, or very commonplace - either way, we thought it might be an interesting discussion starter... We did get a bit distracted chatting away about our struggles personally, and didn't end up covering much about the context of renting/buying with children! But I hope you enjoy learning more about us in the process. Are you renting, or have you ever rented, while raising little ones? Let us know your thoughts!

Top tips for making new friends as a parent? This is the one where Emma and Elliot have a fun chat about the challenges, struggles and reality of maintaining adult friendships when you have a baby or toddler. Including being busy and the parent guilt of not finding time to meet up. An entertaining episode with lots of laughs as we joke about how poor Elliot is at this, as a typical man. Looking at the perspective of both mums and dads. Does age matter? Can you have friends who don't have children? Who organises the playdates? Are there other millennials at your workplace?

Why we're hoping to part-time homeschool! This is the one where Emma and Elliot chat about what Flexi-Schooling in the UK is, why it appeals to us, and how, as toddler parents, we're aiming to make it work in the future. A light-hearted conversation touching on what other countries do, 'part-time before CSA' (Compulsory School Age), deferred starting, our school experience, and generally having a moan about the UK education system! (including fines for absences, the curriculum, defending teachers, school uniforms...) So much in this episode!

What influences our parenting decisions? Kicking off the first proper episode of series 3, Emma and Elliot chat about their childhoods and recap some of the differences between them - a reintroduction to them as hosts and the show, but with new stories, fails, and experiences you haven't heard before! Particularly covering Emma's upbringing on a farm (cows and sheep), northern expressions Elliot doesn't understand, and how parenting has changed since the 90s. If you're new here, then hopefully this episode is a great one to get you up to speed!

Emma's experience of being induced, labour, and having an emergency cesarean. This is the one where Emma and Elliot finally chat about the birth story of their firstborn - their naive assumptions, frustrations with the NHS, the dad-to-be perspective, and how they found giving birth during a pandemic. This is a special extended episode that's longer than usual so we could give an in-depth account of the whole story. Plus plenty of humour and silliness at the beginning, middle and end to make up for the serious topic of conversation! Stay tuned till the end to hear some stories and experiences from our listeners...

Being honest about parenting challenges. This is the one where Emma and Elliot, along with the amazing Anna, discuss parenting milestones with babies and toddlers. What moments have been the most meaningful for you as a parent? Leaving the house for the first time. Having a day or night away from your baby for the first time. Returning to work. Successfully parenting by yourself with your children. Realising you're enjoying parenting not just surviving. Eating with two hands for the first time. A really fun episode full of laughs - and special thanks to our guest Anna!

Does society exploit parents? Push us to buy unnecessary stuff? What do you find frustrating about materialism with a toddler or baby... This is the one where Emma and Elliot discuss being guilted to buy new and expensive items for your child, the scam of baby products, buying presents at birthdays and Christmas, and all the useless things that are marketed to parents. Basically, we vent about parenting challenges in a society that constantly wants us to buy things!
