Betty: I’m enjoying learning about Ayurveda from your podcast and in particular, I’m learning a lot about how to manage my Vata dosha. I understand that routine is very important for Vata and I have great intentions, however, I find it to figure out what type of routines to focus on. Any tips would be very helpful. Thank you!

Carla: I’m doing a daily abhyanga oil massage and really like it, however, I notice that my towel is collecting lots of oil. What do you recommend for getting rid of the excess oil in towels used for abhyanga?

Jane: How does the Ayurvedic healing process work from the consultation to the treatment?

  • Our modern society has a negative outlook on aging and we tend to glorify youth and oftentimes our elders are ignored and considered to be of no value to society. This glorification of youth leads to a battle against aging, along with a huge industry of anti-aging products. This is a battle that we will never win and one which can lead to feelings of disempowerment and a lack of self worth as we age. Ayurveda is the science of longevity and it provides guidelines on how to prevent disease, increase longevity and more importantly, how to have vitality in those extended years. Ayurveda also reminds us of the gifts of aging and how to utilize these gifts, empowering us as we age.

In this episode Colette discusses the following:

Types of aging: chronological biological How epigenetics plays a major role in determining our health and wellbeing. The components of aging according to Ayurveda: physical health mental health diet sleep stress management
