Luigi Mangione has accepted the funds that Jamie Peck, Sam Beard, the December 4 Legal Committee have raised from everyday working people across the globe. The mainstream media has some wack takes about it. Also Kendrick Lamar's Superbowl halftime show was good and the Mud Wizard's statement is HELLA good.

Happy pod-a-versary to us! Jamie Peck and Sam Beard celebrate one year of Party Girls by answering a bunch of listener questions. How many years does the American empire have left? How hopeful are we that weâll see serious social change within our lifetimes? How many times a day do we think about Lenin? And why does Sam dress like a zoomer now? All this, plus we reveal which super exciting guest we have coming on in February and what book(s) you should read to prepare.

00:23:41 What is to be done? How it might should be done?

Sam is back from his hiatus for this special episode with Natasha Lennard, journalist, educator, Friend and comrade. The day after Trump re-ascends to the helm of the federal government, the Party Girls team teases out just what collective political wisdom led to a categorically different protest response to Trumpâs inauguration this go around. 2017âs inauguration was marked by a massive black bloc protest, but the one this week saw dozens of smaller convergences around the country focused on community-building and activating more localized responses to Trump's deportation machine.
What role does journalism actually hold in making the world a better place? What brings us hope in this grim political moment? Should Antifa make a comeback? All this and more in this week's episode.
00:00:00 Intro to Natasha Lennard
00:04:20 I Protested Trump's First Inauguration, But I'm Not Protesting Him Today
00:14:03 Elon Musk's Sieg Heil and other inauguration news worth talking about
00:38:00 Direct action & Gary, Indiana (the town, not the writer)
00:52:45 The King of Antifa says, "anything can happen" but there are currently no plans for a second season

Half of this episode was behind the paywall but in honor of Curtis Yarvin, Mencius Moldbug himself, calling for the end of Democracy in The New York Times (at least he didn't bring up his "human alternative to genocide") we're making this ep free for everybody. Also it was before we were recording video so please enjoy this visual of a waveform.
This episode was recorded on 07/30/24.
00:00:00 - Kate Willet's on the show to tell us about technofascism
01:18:42 - This is where the stuff that was paywalled before starts
Comedian and podcaster Kate Willett joins Jamie Peck and Sam Beard for a wide-ranging discussion of the San Francisco tech milieu that anointed JD Vance as Donald Trump's VP pick. Unlike the old school robber barons, the tech capitalists of today want more than money; they want to be gods. Via labor arbitrage, political meddling, and even seemingly innocuous ideas like "smart cities," figures like Peter Thiel, Curtis Yarvin, David Sacks, and Bilaji Srinivasan seek to immiserate the average person, dismantle the government and bring about an anarcho-capitalist dystopia ruled by neo-feudal warlords. But hey, at least they're never going to beat the couch fucking charges.

DESCRIPTION: Jamie is joined by Jake Flores (@feraljokes) of Pod Damn America (@poddamnamerica) to discuss Mike Davisâ 1998 essay âThe Case For Letting Malibu Burn,â which is also the third chapter in his book âEcology of Fear: Los Angeles and the Imagination of Disasterâ (Verso, 1998). In this controversial-at-the-time essay, Davis maps the fire ecology of the Malibu coast and explains why ongoing overdevelopment of this area is the height of capitalist folly.

It's been a crazy week in Party Girls land. Jamie and Sam have been kicking ass and taking names in their roles as official spokespeople for the December 4th Legal Committee, which has raised over $175,000 for Luigi Mangione's legal defense to date. The PG crew gives some updates on Luigi (the terrorism and first degree murder charges, his Christlike perp walk into NYC, Eric Adams), then breaks down Jamie's viral throwdown with Chris Cuomo on his NewsNation show.

Luigi Mangione has taken the nation by storm! In the wake of his arrest for the killing of United Healthcare CEO/public enemy #1 Brian Thompson, Jamie and Sam dive into this newly minted American folk heroâs story. From his tony upbringing in Towson, MD and Ivy League education, to the chronic lower back pain that may have radicalized him, to the jumble of political views he expressed online, to his imminent prison wedding to Jamie, the crew examines how he got here. They also give some background on âpropaganda of the deed,â an anarchist tactic with a long and bloody history, and evaluate its current revolutionary potential.

Jamie and Sam return with their Global Uprisings Series, profiling revolutionary activity and social unrest that has occurred in at least five countries over the past week. The Syrian civil war has its battlelines drawn once again with the latest, complicated assault against the Assad regime. Tens of thousands riot in Georgia, demanding acceptance into the European Union through their use of black bloc tactics. Pakistani supporters of Imran Khan rise-up to demand his release from political imprisonment as residents of Italy fight the police in Milan. Finally, South Koreans push back against martial law.
We live in the era of revolts. Our gut tells us this is only the beginning.

America has spoken, and there are now only 77 days left until Donald Trump is the president of the United StatesâŠ.again. Jamie and Sam reflect on this week's electoral results. Why did the democrats get swept and who is to blame? How can we trust our fellow man when 72,000,000 of them literally just voted for fascism? How did Americans resist the orange man the first time, and what ought we do now to prepare for his second term? All this and more in this week's Special Electoral Coverage.

In a rare look behind the paywall, this weekâs Bonus episode has been jailbroken and unleashed to the insatiable culture-hungry masses as a FREE EPISODE! Jamie and Sam are joined by Super Deluxe VIP Friend-of-the-Pod Fellatia G (AKA Lena NW), a multidisciplinary artist and all around deviant.
The three of them dive into a collective criticism of Joker: Folie Ă Deux, the highly controversial sequel to the smash blockbuster hit Joker (2019). A freshly (?) Jokerfied Fellatia G comes hot-and-heavy as she describes just what about that rather peculiar musical floated her boat. Jamie, perhaps not as sold on the direction of the film, offers some scathing rebukes of its attempt at artistry. And Sam, as per usual, cannot help but condemn Arthur Fleckâs nihilist political frame as a dead-end, utterly devoid of all potentiality.
All this and more in this week's Cultural Marxism: Joker 2.

In this Party Girls Zine Club Spooktacular Halloween Special Jamie and Sam dive into The Devil's Night: On the Rebellious Spirit of Halloween, which traces the history of the holiday back thousands of years to its proto-Pagan roots. Where do our Halloween traditions come from? How did its supernatural roots morph into a storied history of rebellion, rioting and arson that swept American metropolitan cores year after year? How did the forces of counterinsurgency specifically target Halloween in order to snuff out its ungovernable potential? What is Jamieâs costume this year? All this and more on the second installment of the Party Girls Zine Club.
This Zine was anonymously authored and published in Mask Magazine in 2015. A few years later it was revised and re-published by Ill Will Editions.

Writer, theorist, and UC Berkeley professor (and communist) Jasper Bernes joins us for a discussion of the life and work of Fredric Jameson, an absolute beast of Marxist philosophy and cultural critique who passed away last month following a long and illustrious life.
Following a summary of Jameson's career and a discussion of his epistemological approach, the crew digs into some of his ideas. What is it about the postmodern/neoliberal era that simultaneously creates amnesia and nostalgia? How are humans more atomized than ever, yet losing any real sense of individuality? What purpose can utopian science fiction, like that of Jameson protege Kim Stanley Robinson, serve as we try to find a way out of this exhausted system called capitalism? And, in this era in which nothing is shocking, can there be such a thing as truly radical art?
