Well, if youâve been learning English for a while, youâve probably come across quite a few words that sound the same but are spelled differently. Like here - as in, âcome over here!â - and hear - as in, âcan you hear that music playing?â. These words are called homophones, from âhomoâ, meaning âsameâ, and âphoneâ, meaning âsoundâ.
