This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris use Time Displacement Equipment to jump back to 1984 and celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Terminator.
In the movie that turned James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger into household names, Arnold stars as the villainous Terminator, a killer cyborg sent back in time to kill the mother of the future leader of the human resistance in a war between humanity and machines. The Resistance sends a soldier named Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) to protect Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), and a cat-and-mouse battle across Los Angeles ensues. Zach and Chris talk about how disgusting Kyle's homeless pants must be, the sexy piano version of The Terminator theme, what happened to Sarah's pet iguana, The Terminator driving a station wagon for the first part of the movie, and more.

Existing in the "real world," Heather Langenkamp plays herself, an actress in Los Angeles who has terrible nightmares about a darker and more sinister version of Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund). Wes Craven is writing a new movie in the series, but it seems like his script is becoming a reality, and Freddy is threatening Heather and her son Dylan (Miko Hughes) to try and enter the real world. The guys discuss why Wes doesn't tell anyone something horrible will happen to them since he has prophetic dreams, Freddy's new look, the constant earthquakes, the crazy ending Freddy Temple, and more.

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris try not to lose their heads while discussing the 1999 Tim Burton movie Sleepy Hollow. Loosely based on the classic Washington Irving short story, Johnny Depp plays Ichabod Crane, a police constable from New York City in 1799 who is dispatched to the small town of Sleepy Hollow, where a series of bizarre murders have taken place. Trying to use new scientific methods to solve the crime, Ichabod slowly realizes that there is something supernatural occurring and has to turn to less logical methods to stop the killings. Zach and Chris discuss the fantastic gothic atmosphere, Christopher Walken's insane cameo, the homages to classic Hammer horror movies, the convoluted conspiracy plot, and more.

For a special bonus commentary, Zach and Chris are joined by special guests Addam and Justin to celebrate Chris' birthday and watch the 1990 Cynthia Rothrock "classic," China O'Brien. Directed by Robert Clouse, the director who brought us both Enter the Dragon and Gymkata, Rothrock stars as a police officer and martial arts instructor, China O'Brien. After an accidental shooting, O'Brien leaves the big city and returns home to Beaver Creek, UT, where she finds her father (David Blackwell) battling corruption from an evil businessman, Sommers (Steven Kerby). After her father is killed, China decides to run for sheriff and get justice, with the help of local high school teacher Matt (Richard Norton) and a motorcycle-riding drifter, Dakota (Keith Cooke). While watching the movie, the guys wonder why car bombs are the bad guys to move, how China can organize an entire parade to help her campaign, the literal teens that China deputizes for the police force, and more.
It's a bit tricky to find China O'Brien to watch but there is a Vinegar Syndrome release that you can check out

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris kick off the spooky season with 1988's The Blob, which has a new limited edition 4K steelbook release.
A remake of the 1958 Steve McQueen starring classic, the 1988 The Blob was directed by Chuck Russell and stars Kevin Dillon and Shawnee Smith. When a satellite carrying a biological experiment gone wrong crashes near the small town of Arborville, CA, the residents start to be devoured by the titular monster, which gets bigger with each victim it absorbs. Bad boy biker Brian (Dillon) and cheerleader Meg (Shawnee Smith) get thrown together by the Blob's rampage and have to survive both the monster and the government agents who have arrived to quarantine and contain the creature, with the entire town considered expendable. The guys talk about Kevin Dillon's "death-defying" motorcycle jump, the gruesome practical effects, the early death of a character that seems like a main character, and more.

Denzel Washington plays Robert McCall, a former black ops operative trying to live a quiet life in Boston working at Home Mart (legally distinct from Home Depot). When a young woman he's befriended, Alina (Chloe Grace Moretz), is brutally beaten by her Russian pimp, Robert decides to use his skill set to "equalize" the situation and inadvertently starts a one-man war with the Russian mob. The Russian kingpin sends the ruthless enforcer Teddy (Marton Csokas) to remedy the problem. The guys talk about the mini Equalizer subplots in the movie, pre-Stranger Things scumbag David Harbour, Denzel's Sherlock Holmes vision, weaponized home improvement stores, and more.

For the latest Everything Action Commentary, Zach and Chris celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Jean-Claude Van Damme classic, Timecop.
JCVD stars as Max Walker, an agent for the Time Enforcement Commission, the agency that controls time travel. Max uncovers a plot by the sleazy presidential candidate and senator Aaron McComb (Ron Silver) to exploit time travel to fund his presidential campaign and eliminate anyone in his way. While trying to stop McComb, Max realizes he may have a chance to save his wife Melissa (Mia Sara), who was murdered shortly before he joined the TEC. While watching the movie, Zach and Chris try to figure out how the time travel rocket sled works, who the random guy stealing Confederate gold was at the beginning of the movie, depression mullets, Ron Silver's dystopian henchmen, and more.

With the first animated Transformers movie in almost 40 years hitting theaters this weekend with Transformers One, Zach and Chris return to the original for this week's Everything Actioncast and talk The Tranformers: The Movie.
Coming between the second and third seasons of the classic 80s cartoon series, The Transformers: The Movie is set in the far-off future of 2005, where the Decepticons have taken control of Cybertron. As the war between the Autobots and Decepticons reaches a climactic showdown, both sides are threatened by the arrival of Unicron (Orson Welles). This massive planet-sized robot devours planets for fuel. The guys talk about the brutal deaths of most of the well-known Transformers characters, the excellent soundtrack, the celebrity voice cast, Unicron's inner workings, and much more.

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris sharpen their katanas and discuss the certified Cannon Classic Ninja III: The Domination, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
The third and final entry in the "Ninja Trilogy" produced by The Cannon Group, which includes Enter the Ninja and Revenge of the Ninja, Ninja III: The Domination stars Lucinda Dickey as Christie, a telephone line repair technician and aerobics instructor who becomes possessed with the spirit of an evil ninja that causes her to seek out and kill the police officers responsible for the ninja's death. This is complicated because Christie starts seeing one of those cops, Billy Secord (Jordan Bennett). Sho Kosugi, who starred in the previous two Ninja Trilogy movies, co-stars as Yamada, a good ninja who travels from Japan to destroy the evil ninja. Zach and Chris talk about the infamously awesome opening golf course rampage, Christie's insane apartment, the unsexiness of V8, the constant introduction of new evil ninja powers, and more.

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris try not to get fragged and discuss 2009's Gamer, which came out 15 years ago this week.
Starring Gerard Butler as Kable, he's a death row inmate who is the star of the "video game" Slayers, created by tech billionaire Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall). Kable is controlled by Simon (Logan Lerman) and fights in real-life death matches against other inmates. If Kable survives 30 matches, he will be released from prison. Meanwhile, his wife (Amber Valletta) works in Castle's other game, Society, which is basically Second Life, but the players control actual people. The guys discuss if the avatars in Society have actual shifts or have to work until their player logs out, the nightmare UI of the year 2034, Michael C. Hall's dance number, the random actor appearances, and more.

Van Damme plays Darren McCord, a former firefighter turned fire marshall who works at Pittsburgh's Civic Arena. Getting tickets for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Chicago Blackhawks, he brings his children to the game but unfortunately a disgruntled Secret Service agent, Joshua Foss (Powers Boothe) has chosen the game as an opportunity to take the visiting Vice President hostage and extort billions from secret government funds. In Die Hard fashion, Darren becomes the one man who can save the day, stop the terrorists, and rescue his kids. Zach and Chris discuss the convoluted nature of Powers Boothe's plan, the epic Van Damme vs Icee the Penguin fight, Van Damme's MacGyver abilities, the terrible-looking helicopter finale, and more.

For the latest Everything Action Commentary, Zach and Chris help you deal with any lingering Olympics fever by watching the 1997 Die Hard knock-off, Blast, starring Johnny Cage himself, Linden Ashby.
Set during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, the US women's swim team is taken hostage by terrorists led by Omodo (Andrew Divoff). The only hope for the hostages inside the pool facility is Jack Bryant (Ashby), a former Olympic bronze medalist in Tae Kwan Do, who became an alcoholic janitor and whose ex-wife is one of the hostages. Outside the facility, Rutger Hauer is Leo, a Native American (?) hostage negotiator with a personal vendetta against Omodo. While watching the movie, the guys realize the pool facility in the film is a literal prison and discuss Andrew Divoff's constantly shifting accent, if Rutger Hauer chose his character backstory and wardrobe, a surprise Tommy Jarvis appearance, and more.

Chow Yun-Fat stars as a skilled hitman, Ah Jong (or Jeff depending on your version) who blinds a singer, Jennie (Sally Yeh) while on a job. Feeling guilty, he seeks her out and begins a romantic relationship with her, taking what he thinks is one last job to make enough money to pay for a corneal transplant. On his trail is Inspector Li (Danny Lee), who reluctantly grows a respect and friendship with Jeff as the two cross paths and battle hordes of Triad henchmen. This week on the Everything Actioncast, whoever wins, we lose because we're talking about 2004's AVP: Alien vs. Predator, which came out 20 years ago this week. There's also a new Alien movie, Alien: Romulus, in theaters right now.
Directed by schlockmeister Paul WS Anderson, AVP: Alien vs Predator pits the two intergalactic entities against each other in an Antarctic pyramid discovered by Weyland Industries. The company's head, Charles Weyland (Lance Henriksen) wants to claim the structure in his name as one last grand action before he dies from a terminal disease and he assembles a team that includes scientists, drillers and Alexa Woods (Sanaa Lathan), an expert guide in arctic environments. The group explores the pyramid but soon finds themselves caught between the Xenomorphs and the Predators, with the pyramid being a training ground for young Predator warriors to prove themselves or die in a rite of passage. Zach and Chris discuss how there was over a decade of hype for this battle from the comics and games, the lack of any interesting kills thanks to the PG-13 rating, how the Antarctic environment doesn't affect anything, how quickly most of the Predators die, and more.

What we got was a mess of a film full of contradictions to things we already saw in the previous movies, atrocious CG, and the absolute abomination that is Weapon XI, aka Deadpool. Margot Kidder, Marc McClure, and Jackie Cooper return as Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Perry White, respectively, while Jon Cryer co-stars as Lex's nephew Lenny, and Mariel Hemingway plays the horny new editor of The Daily Planet, Lacy Warfield. While watching the movie, the guys discuss how it seems like Gene Hackman had no restrictions on his wardrobe or set design, how most of the movie is a wacky 80s sitcom, Nuclear Man's absurd weakness to darkness, the bonkers gym scene, and more.

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris face the dark side of nature and the 90s disaster classic Twister, as its sequel, Twisters, hits theaters this weekend.
Bill Paxton stars as former storm chaser Bill Harding, who reunites with his ex-wife Jo (Helen Hunt) to make sure she has finalized their divorce papers, but he gets pulled back into chasing tornadoes when he finds out Jo and her team have built "Dorothy," a device he and Jo designed to study tornadoes from within. Bill gives Jo one day to try to get Dorothy flying, and his new fiancée, Melissa (Jami Gertz), gets dragged along for the ride.
