This week on Expired, we sit down with the owners of Chatta-cakes Bakery, Shannon and Mike Anderson. Their son Gavin was killed two years ago and NOTHING has been done! Gavin was 25-years-old and was in good health working as a tile mason. He actually did the tiles at his parents business, located at 5143 Hixson Pike.
He was found in his apartment in East Ridge, Tennessee on July 16th, 2022. The air conditioner was set to 60 degrees, all the breakers were off except for the air conditioner and the fridge and there were several blood stained t-shirts and rags laying around. The Anderson immediately called the East Ridge Police Department were the nightmare began.

Christa Gail Pike is the youngest woman in United States history to be sentenced to death. She was sent to death row at The Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center located in Nashville in 1995, at the age of 18! Christa lured 19-year-old classmate Collen Slemmer into the woods outside of Job Corp in Knoxville, Tennessee. She brutalized Collen for more than a half hour before her death. The coroner counted 300 stab wounds, including a pentagram craved into her chest. Ultimately Collen was killed by a concrete block to her head, crushing her skull. After the beating, Christa Pike bent down and took a piece of bloody skull as a souvenir. She proceeded to show it off and bragged about what she had done. This is the horrific story of the death of Collen Slemmer.

This week we talk to Tracie, whose daughter and son in law are sitting in prison as we speak. Georgia tried everything in their power to take custody of two little boys. Luckily, Tracie is a strong and fierce grandmother and she fought against the state!
Even though Parker and Reid’s parents are wrongfully convicted, they are lucky to have their grandparents. Please pray for this family!

This week on The Expired Podcast we speak to Ryan Ralston of You Are The Power. We were shocked to hear the horrifying stories of families being ripped from their medically fragile children and slapped with abuse charges. Georgia is not doing their due diligence for the children and families in the state. We are outraged and urge you to donate and educate at YouAreThePower.net
Ryan Ralston was born and raised in metro Atlanta. He works for the only organization in Georgia devoted to freeing the imprisoned innocent and correcting and preventing wrongful convictions.Ryan is the Southeast Regional Organizer for You Are The Power, a membership-based nonprofit founded by Spike Cohen. This organization's network has a collective social media reach of over 50 million and maintains working relationships with its members, other advocates, and organizations across all 50 states. Ryan is a steadfast advocate for effective reform within the criminal legal system.
Ryan understands that grassroots activism and voluntarism yield more significant results for our communities than mandated government policies. He is committed to Human Respect and focuses on positive solutions that return power to the individual.
Despite his serious professional commitments, Ryan dedicates time to his interests. He is a family man who did something truly punk rock: he married his high school sweetheart. They are blessed with three wonderful children. In his leisure time, Ryan writes short stories and essays, reads voraciously, follows Red Sox baseball, gets tattooed, and cherishes moments with his three Australian Shepherds, Mabel, Junie, and Birdy.
His parents remain hopeful he will go to med school.

Heather Maples was a Texas transplant to Tennessee. She moved to Murfreesboro in January of 2015 to go to MTSU. Heather moved in with her friend Chaz and got a job at their apartment complex. She and Chaz quickly became more than friends and a relationship began. Heather would complain that Chaz was abusive and always yelling. She even said there was a physical altercation and ultimately, they broke up. She stayed at the apartment mostly because she worked there, and he moved out. In the Summer of 2015 Heather was single, social, working where she lived and preparing to start her college career. That was all taken away on August 7th when she was found dead in her apartment.
