This week, our journey with the former governor of Illinois comes to an end. Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened!! In this episode, we dive into our favorite crimes he committed and interview Rod’s attorney, Sam Adam Jr. We can all agree Rod’s accomplished quite a lot throughout his life. We wrap up his story by hitting some of the highlights talking through his trials, from attempting to sell a Senate seat and getting caught in extortion schemes. But much like a phoenix, he rose from the ashes after Trump commuted his prison sentence and then naturally, became a podcast host. At the end of the day Rod just wanted illegal campaign contributions like everyone else and to be adored by the people of Illinois, is that so bad?!

This week we begin our journey covering the one and only, Rod Blagojevich. Rod is the epitome of the American Dream– the son of Yugoslavian immigrants, he came from humble beginnings, shining shoes, delivering pizza, working as a… bookie. He worked himself all the way up to Congress and the story does not stop there! He ran for Governor of Illinois and won on an anti-corruption platform. Spoiler alert: he was corrupt!!! Rod was on the up and up, sneaking in bits of corruption here and there, that is until he tried to sell then-President-elect Barack Obama's Senate seat. He flew too close to the sun and can you blame him?! There’s so much more to the story and it only gets better (worse) from here!!

We’re back to finish off the story of Jen Shah. In this episode, comedian and Emmy-nominated TV writer, Rae Sanni, serves as our Real Housewives expert helping us dig into Jen’s time on the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Jen Shah is nothing if not ambitious, she chose to be on national TV while actively running a telemarketing scheme that targeted the elderly. We go from Elijah’s turbulent childhood and upbringing to his days as an alcoholic, to the moment he found God… or Wallace Fard, who interestingly enough claimed to be the Mahdi and founded the Nation of Islam. Ooookay, sounds legit! Like any good fraudster, Elijah went through many iterations of his name and title. And you know what, his antics were working!!! He was raking in new followers and new haters and that’s actually #goals because all press is good press baby!!!!

We take a walk down memory lane (CSPAN) to look at some of Traficant’s most memorable one-minute speeches AND his frauds from his time in Congress. Eventually, an FBI-led mob investigation brought him down. He represented himself in court (heroic), was expelled from Congress, and then sent to prison. Despite all of Traficant’s wrongdoings, he never forgot his roots at the height of his career. He continued to honor Crimetown, USA by… well… committing crimes. And if that’s not the American spirit, we don’t know what is!

This man lived quite the life– he was indicted for racketeering, caught in a bribery scheme involving the Pittsburgh and Cleveland mob, and later caught in a civil case against the IRS for - you guessed it - not paying his taxes. Against all odds, he went on to become a Congressman. Nevertheless, he persisted!!
