This edition of the Gospel of Thomas welcomes in Kaia McKenna. Kaia is a professional wrestler hailing from Maryland's Eastern Shore. She also started training relatively late in life. NOt the typical combination.
Luckily, she's persistent, level headed, and comes from a supportive familial extended coven. Yes, she's a witch. But a good witch. Mostly. -

Ann Charles is the author of several series' and co-creates other works with her husband. Her 14 book series takes place in Deadwood. Yes, the site of my favorite TV show. So, we had to meet. We have a wide ranging conversation about her works, Deadwood, cartography, and the usual unusual landscape that is the Garden.
From Stephen King to the Chorus, we're talking about it.
USA Today Bestselling author, Ann Charles, writes spicy stories
full of mystery, comedy, adventure, suspense, romance, and
supernatural mayhem. When she's not dabbling in fiction, she's arm
wrestling with her two kids, attempting to seduce her husband, and
arguing with her sassy cats.

I'm confused and concerned about what's going on with immigration law and practice. Also, what's not going on: Due Process in a lot of cases. And I'm a lawyer, but not an immigration lawyer. So, I found one willing to talk. Sheri Hodra is the child of immigrants and is a zealous advocate for her client's rights. And she's flustered too.
Yet she seems pretty cool, calm and collected. Most of my episodes are evergreen, but not all. Perhaps this one is. Perhaps not. The history we're making will tell the tale.
This is an immigration attorney's efforts to answer my questions and provide some status of what's going on in legal forums around America. And the effort to keep up with the explosive nature of the shotgun attack on immigrants; legal and illegal. -
The Garden welcomes back Professor Richard Spence to continue in our "academic" exploration of the occult. This episode focuses on some of the better known names in Occultism over the past 200 years or so. We learn about Helena BLavatsky, Rudolph Steiner, Aleiter Crowley, Anton LaVay, among others. From the elite homes of Tsarist Russia to Marin County, California, we visit upon the truth, fiction, legend and what's in between. What's Theosophy? What's Anthrosophy? Is there a difference between of Satanist and a Luciferian? Don't be afriad, this is academic. Mostly.

Jay Holland has a national practice focusing on employment law. Along with better known areas such as civil rights, he practices in a niche area involving certain types of whistleblowers in what are known as Qui Tam cases. Qui Tam is not a martial art. Qui Tam allows a private individual to prosecute a case on behalf of the government, with incentives, when that individual(s) is/are blowing the whistle on fraud against the government.
If I ever knew this existed, I long forgot it until I spoke to Holland. Jay shares with us the history of these laws and several war stories. I ask questions and pose hypotheticals. Some of which were actually useful to the conversation.
In an era where a lot of people talk about fraud prevention and abatement, this is a timely exploration. -
In the latest episode of GoT Presents, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Akira Kwon, the current holder of the MLW Middleweight Championship. Fresh off the excitement of WrestleMania, the conversation flowed seamlessly from the highs and lows of wrestling to personal growth and the journey that brought Akira to where he is today.
Akira's story is one of resilience and determination. He shared how he fell in love with wrestling at a young age and how life experiences, including challenges and setbacks, shaped his path. After promising his mother he would complete his education, he took the plunge into wrestling training, a decision that would lead him to the ring.
Throughout the episode, Akira opened up about the rigorous training process he underwent, including the unique environment of training in an MMA gym. This setting not only honed his wrestling skills but also instilled a deep respect for the craft. His journey has not been without its struggles; he candidly discussed the injuries he faced and how they affected his career trajectory.
As a new father, Akira reflected on how fatherhood has changed his perspective on life and wrestling. He emphasized the importance of balancing personal life with professional aspirations and how his experiences have made him more empathetic towards others in similar situations.
Listeners will also find valuable insights into the wrestling industry, including the significance of maintaining authenticity and the importance of quality over quantity in matches. Akira's advice on navigating the wrestling world is both inspiring and practical, making this episode a must-listen for fans and aspiring wrestlers alike. -
Professor Michael York rejoins us to discuss the day Wednesday. Sort of. Wednesday is Woden's Day. Odin. But Wednesday is also Miercoles. Mercury. Who is often considered Hermes, who is usually associated with Hermod in the Norse panoply. Or is he? Where does Lucifer come in? Does he? Despite me making this mistake numerous times, it's Venus - not Mercury - that is the "morning star". How about Abraxus? Who? Well, you'll find out.
Wednesday spilled into some confusion regarding Saturday, but the answer was recollected post production and is below.
Mars became Tyr (Tuesday), Mercury became Odin (Wednesday), Jupiter became Thor (Thursday) and Venus became Frigg (Friday). Saturday came outside the system: The Norse form 'Saturday' means 'hot water day' - which can be translated as 'washing day' or 'washing water day'.
It was originally the day that Norsemen took their baths. -
Robert Emery was a child prodigy. He could replay whatever music he heard on the piano without any formal training. His parents knew they had a gifted child and the rest is history. Emery also isn't promoting anything other than classical music. He wants people to listen to classical music and embrace it as evergreen "cool". My quotes, not his.
He tells his story from a personal level. While I explore the legal and business aspects in a parallel fashion. We discuss items like did he have helicopter parents; when and how did he acquire an agent; how do music industry artists make money; intellectual property; why did he chose to become a conductor over a concert pianist.
Tune in so you can be tuned in. -

The get out of trouble, he would solve crimes for the police and prosecutors. The problem was, he made up all the information. He and Donna's mother engaged in elaborate storytelling to get innocent people arrested, charged, and convicted. One man is currently on death row for a crime he did not commit.

Brad C. Anderson lives with his wife and puppy in Vancouver, Canada.
He teaches undergraduate business courses at a local university and
researches organizational wisdom in blithe defiance of the fact most
people do not think you can put those two words in the same
sentence without irony. Previously, he worked in the biotech sector,
where he made drugs for a living (legally!).
His stories have appeared in a variety of publications. His short story “Naïve Gods” was
longlisted for a 2017 Sunburst Award for Excellence in Canadian Literature of the Fantastic. It
was published in the anthology Lazarus Risen, which was itself nominated for an Aurora Award.
Ashme’s Song, the latest science fiction novel by Vancouver writer
Brad C. Anderson (author of Duatero), is a gritty, action-filled, far-
future cyberpunk-infused science fiction tale about resistance,
rebellion, and civil war—and the terrible toll it takes on
individuals and families. It releases December 17 from
Shadowpaw Press.
“Ashme’s Song is a science fiction story exploring family and
heroism at a time of civil war,” Anderson says. “I wrote this book
because I wanted to explore the tension between wanting to fight
for your people versus fleeing with your family.”
“Ashme’s Song is a gritty, thoroughly engaging, and thought-
provoking exploration of timeless themes of oppression,
resistance, and family ties, combined with fascinating
worldbuilding and a strong cyberpunk element,” says Edward Willett, publisher and editor of
Shadowpaw Press.
During the course of this, Brad teaches me what Cyberpunk v Steampunk are. We also discuss re-introducing Megafauna and bacteria v humans. -

Bernie Taylor rejoins us because I inspired him. Yes, I inadvertently inspired the content of this episode by raising the possibility that Sagitarius was a centaur. So, cover centaurs we shall. From myths to cave art to descriptions of figures from history, we cover all the space. That includes the zodiac and constellations. That includes greek myths and Siberian tribes. No thrown rocks nor slung arrows are left unturned. Some (in)famous Jeff pontifications are laid forth.
