Vegan or not? There is so much noise around pets and whether or not pet ownership is vegan. As usual, we do not provide a clear cut answer to this question because the discussion around companion animals is complex so you'll have to listen to the episode in full to get our opinions on the topic.
If you liked this episode, remember to share it with a friend or in your social media networks. You can tag us @goatsandoatspodcast on instagram. We can't wait to connect with you and hear your thoughts on this episode.
Happy Halloween!

In this episode Jay and Zipporah discuss the infamous vegan documentary that is earthlings. In doing so, we begin to understand the waywardness that is yt veganism and why many yt folk are influenced to go vegan after watching these kinds of documentaries that so boldly compare the exploitation of non human animals to that of Black and Jewish people during Slavery and the Holocaust respectively.
If you haven't watched the documentary, we invite you to do so before or after listening to the documentary so that you can more accurately understand and clock the instances of anti-Blackness, colourblindness, and anti-semitism first hand as they may be subtle to those of you who are just beginning to decolonize your veganism.

TW: throwing up, bulimia and other eating disorders
Update since posting this episode: A&W has since released their plant based nuggets. Go ahead and try them out! We also discuss
In this episode we discuss the intersections between eating disorders and veganism as two people who have recovered from.
We explore the following topics:
How a strict whole food plant based diet often promotes orthorexic eating patterns How eating plant based in 2021 is a lot different than in 2001 (resources, inspo, alternatives, costs thereof and accessibility thereto) How taglines such as “All food is good food” push people to think that if you're not eating the “real thing” you’re doing something wrong in recovery, when in reality plant based foods are just sourced differently, they're not any less authentic or real How listening to your hunger cues can be complicated and sometimes impossible when taking ADHD medication for example of while smoking and how those can also be used to restrict Tips for going vegan with an eating disorder (anchoring yourself in your why, transitioning slowly, swapping foods instead of cutting them out, and being consistent in the swaps you make) -
On this week’s episode, we discuss the nuance between having a social media presence and being in a position to comment on every and any issue. We also discuss the plagiarism we face as content creators and discuss our individual boundaries around the content we create. We hope that this episode gives you an insight into how we operate online and offers you with the courage to be the change you want to see in the world. You know where to find us if you want to keep the convo going! It’s Instagram.com/goatsandoatspodcast btw 🤫

We're back and we're kicking off season 3 by dragging vegetarians. Regrettably, vegans are often seen as being in the same boat as vegetarians and today, we're putting an end to that falsehood. As two ex-vegetarians turned vegan, we roast our former selves and then some! It's a good time, but certainly not for the faint of heart. @ meat eaters, pescatarians, vegetarians, etc. : before you get in your feels, remember that we are directing this drag to those who are *able* to go vegan.

TW: mention of rape in this episode (during the read the receipt segment only)
In this episode we talk about our experiences with boundary setting, some of the difficulties with it and how to set boundaries for certain situations or people. The thing about boundaries we really focus on is that they should be for you, and that they can change with you as you move through and learn through life.

THE ONE ABOUT VEGANISM
In this episode we talk about...
the vegan society’s definition of veganism vs our definitions of it the motivations that would incite someone go vegan what as far "as possible and practicable" means in a capitalist world the harm in single-issue activism and white veganism the difference between plant-based , vegan, flexitarian & freegan why you cannot be vegan without analyzing the human element about veganism (ex. guide dogs)For our read the receipts segment, we discuss Miley Cyrus

In this episode we discuss how we feel about Black History Month as we talk about it from a North-American perspective. For our Read the Receipts segment, it only felt fitting to look to Brazil to see how another colonized country treats Black people and pays tribute to Black History given that it is home to the largest population of Black people outside of the continent of Africa.
