Tonight we will be reading first-hand encounters with bizarre animals. Some of these creatures look similar to the natural animals they resemble, but something isā¦ off. Maybe itās the size, or that it walks on its hind-legs, or that it speaks human languageā¦
I grabbed these stories from Reddit, Your Ghost Stories, and The National Cryptid Society. In between reading the experiences, Iāll explain some folklore that relates to the sightings of these various odd creatures. The āanimalsā seen vary from bipedal, overall-wearing house cats, humanoid rabbits, to giant pigs; and folklore is pulled from Japan, Portugal, the Philippines, and moreā¦ Thanks for tuning in.

Tonight we will be looking at a few āunusualā reports from the Fairy Census, an ongoing academic research project conducted by Dr. Simon Young. This survey gathers anonymous first-hand experiences with fairies, but many of the submissions deviate from the modern āstereotypicalā and commercially accepted image of what a fairy looks like. Iām going to read a handful of reports that are far from whimsical winged pixies; and yet the witness purposefully submitted their experience to the Fairy Census. The intention of the census is to gather data on the modern attitudes towards fairies, so what do these āunorthodoxā encounters tell us about the current ideas and beliefs regarding these folkloric beings?

Tonight we are going to listen to the āleftoversā I set aside for two previous episodes: āon the ceilingā and ādisembodied handsā. For every episode I make, I simultaneously make a list of things I find relating to the topic Iām writing about that I find interesting, or stories that didnāt make the runtime. Tonight Iāll be reading case reports from NUFON (North UFO News) and UFO Times magazines. These are eye-witness accounts of experiences involving humanoid creatures that vary from the standard āgrey alienā to far more strange, like 10-foot-tall faceless, silver men. Many people are familiar with the fairies of Irish folklore, but a similar sort of being is also described in many cultures across the world (if not all of them), bearing similarities in appearance, behavior, and legends, but called by different names.
Tonight we will examine what could be considered fairies or elves in a variety of cultures, such as Malay, Native American, Mexican, Filipino, and more. These will be explored through a mixture of first-hand experiences pulled from forums and surveys, and folklore referenced from books, articles, and web sources.
Even with similarities abound, the human experience ceaselessly proves to be vastly varied, and ever-so fascinating.
