It was going to happen eventually... The TV content boom of 2013-2023 resulted in a multimillion dollar live action Godzilla series: Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The Godzillvangelists step up to the plate to see whether it's worth our time in a two-parter. This one covers episodes 1-5.
Joanna's friend Prad is here instead of Sam to help us wade through Indonesian jungles, Korean prisons, and Japanese retirement homes. Will any of the scenes without monsters or Kurt Russell be interesting? You might be surprised by the answer!
Next episode is the long-awaited Godzilla Minus One coverage! See how well we love this eye-catching G-flick... the very last one we have to cover on the show. D:

A labor of love long in the making, the Godzillavangelists team up with buddy Jess Morse to create their own Godzilla fan fiction! Ranging from the ridiculous to the steamy to the heartfelt to the Gilmore Girls crossover, it's a buffet of non-canon Godzilla goodness.
We also cover two of the most famous Godzilla fan works, the esoteric Godzilla vs. The Wolfman and the surprisingly successful Godzilla play first staged in 1987. There's a lot to cover, most of it cringey, so buckle up!
Next episode starts our coverage of the Monarch TV series! Hearing Kurt Russel say "Godzilla" hits more than you would think.

It's that time again! Fresh off a new Monsterverse release, the Godzillavangelists are ready to discuss, debate, and distract one another. This time, it's the controversial Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, and the title's not even the worst thing about it.
And yet... there's a lot to love in this glorious monster-packed mess, including a starring role for the beloved big monkey. Kaiju vets, sloppily inserted subplots, and nasty little monkey bastards are just part of the parade of wonders, and we've got front row seats.
Next episode is a fun diversion: Godzilla fan fiction! Prepare for secondhand embarrassment! For real this time!

Seven years after Ryan saw it, seven years after a certain podcast was first conceived, we're finally talking Shin Godzilla. Bureaucracy and the banality of evil abound!
Joanna, Ryan, and Sam handle this oft-hailed but controversial Godzilla movie with the aid of Joanna's big brother Rob, who was in Japan for its release and has lots of fun perspectives to share. Sadly, though, our information was suppressed by the Prime Minister.

Is the cheapest Godzilla movie ever made also the worst? That's our topic today with Godzilla vs. Megalon! We talk razor thin budgets, 70s interior design, and the clever and impactful American marketing of the movie that made it one of the most-seen G-films.
This super-size episode features not only Ryan, Joanna, and Sam, but Ryan's sister is back, and there's exciting new guest Mary Jo Pehl! She shares her MST3K and Rifftrax experiences and has a few things to say about the world of Godzilla as well.
Next episode will be the controversial but crafty Shin Godzilla!

Pair one of the world's most acclaimed directors and actors with giant mutant monster madness and a lovably pathetic family, and what do you get? Well, a very good movie called The Host!
Joanna, Ryan, and Sam reconnect with guest Natalie Morin to talk Korean snack food, movie stars, and possible USC alumni. Oh, and the brutally depressing themes of this classic. Plus, a breakdown of everyone's favorite Bong Joon-ho movies!
Next episode should be the long-awaited Godzilla vs. Megalon! Get ready for a very special guest and lots of ridiculousness!

Next episode, we'll either be covering Bong Joon-Ho's The Host or a pair of wacky Hong Kong kaiju flicks. Talk about a dice roll!

It's time for a duology of Mechagodzilla- er, Kiryu films, soaked in anime influence, 60s throwbacks, and some pretty good kaiju photography. In this back-to-back bout of three monsters, the winner is undeniably the mecha nerds. We hope you're happy.
Guest Sophie Desmond is here to share high school tales of Ryan, gush about fairy babes, and become perhaps the most devoted Godzillavangelist acolyte yet. Meanwhile, Sam see-saws on his opinion and Ryan talks trailer downloads in the dialup days.
Our next episode wraps up the Millennium series with that controversial blast of testosterone-fueled mayhem, Final Wars. Dust off your giant leather trenchcoat.

After years of anticipation, it's finally time for GMK! ...Oh fine, we'll say the whole thing. Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack!! Now take a drink of water to recover.
Kaiju king Kaneko takes his spin at the Godzilla series, and it's an oft-talked about entry in the series. Ryan, Sam, and Joanna bring in special effects and makeup artist Jasper Anderson to talk monster suits, effects gone wrong, and the proper balance of goofy to grim a Godzilla movie should have.
Our next episode brings a double dose of Mechagodzilla with 2002 and 2003's duology. Rev up your Absolute Zero cannon because it's gonna be a cool episode. B)

In the next episode, our target is the beloved GMK! How will this oddball entry stand up to the test of time- and Sam's withering hipster gaze?
