World-recognised paranormal authority and parapsychologist Loyd Auerbach, MS., has 45 years of experience investigating the paranormal and over 40 years teaching courses in Parapsychology. With thousands of media appearances, he is Director of the Office of Paranormal Investigations, President of the Forever Family Foundation, an Adjunct Professor at Atlantic University, and President of the Board of Directors of the Rhine Research Centre where he teaches online Parapsychology courses through the Rhine Education Centre. He’s the author/co-author of 9 books on the paranormal for the general public including the recent 2nd edition of A Paranormal Casebook, as well as ESP Wars: East & West, Psychic Dreaming, and the classic ESP, Hauntings and Poltergeists: A Parapsychologist’s Handbook. He is also co-author of the paranormal mystery novels Near Death: A Raney/Daye Investigation and the second in the series, After Life. Penny has had an interest in all things unusual from a young age after experiencing seeing a light anomaly in an old barn in the village that she grew up in. In 2018 Lisa joined the Jamaica Inn paranormal team where she discovered how to show guests different methods of investigating and debunking what could be classed as paranormal because, as most people will know, not everything is paranormal. Unfortunately, in 2022 Lisa was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer and took a leave of absence from the Jamaica Inn paranormal team. Her experience with this awful disease spurred her on to write her book ‘My Boob Tried to Kill Me!’. Her aim is to help those who have been affected by cancer, whether they be the patient or one of their loved ones. Cancer doesn’t affect just the patient but all those around them in ever-decreasing circles.

My Special Guest Is Dr. Nick Richbell
Dr. Nick Richbell recently received his PhD in History from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. His area of research is the history of Spiritualism, and his doctoral dissertation is a biographical history about the medium Maurice Barbanell and his guide, Silver Birch. The teachings of Silver Birch are still talked about in Spiritualist churches today, however, Maurice Barbanell’s name is rarely mentioned.
Nick has long believed that there is more to life than an earthly existence. However, it was not until he started work as the Head of Special Collections and Archives at the University of Waterloo Library that he started to further consider the afterlife. The archives had two séance related collections. The Maines-Pincock Family collection holds records of seances conducted by the American medium William Cartheuser in the private home of Jenny O’Hara Pincock in St. Catharines, Ontario. Another collection, the Thomas Lacey Lecture collection contains over 400 lectures given by Lacey while in trance. Nick was able to bring in a new Lacey collection during his tenure at Waterloo: the Thomas Lacey séance collection: over 100 reel-to-reel tapes from the 1960s of recordings of seances conducted by Lacey in a Kitchener, Ontario home. He is often invited to give talks about his research about this magnificent collection. Nick was the research associate on the audio-documentary, The Ghost of Thomas Lacey, produced by Anthroscope Media.
Originally from London, England, Nick is currently the Head of Special Collections and Archives at Clemson University in South Carolina. Prior to moving to South Carolina, Nick oversaw the Special Collections and Archives department at the University of Waterloo in Ontario. He also managed the archives of the Canadian Pacific Railway in Montreal and worked at the McGill University Archives as well as the McGill University Health Centre.

Tui Snider is a Texas-based author and speaker who travels the world exploring historic cemeteries. She shares her findings through books, magazine articles, talks, tours, and various cemetery-related projects.
Tui has written a dozen bestselling books, including “Understanding Cemetery Symbols”, “6 Feet Under Texas”, and “Paranormal Texas.” Her work has been featured in prominent media outlets such as Coast to Coast AM, ABC, NBC, CBS, LifeHack, TimeOut Travel, and others.
Tui currently writes a monthly column for “American Cemetery and Cremation” and occasionally teaches cemetery symbolism classes at TCU in Fort Worth. John Fraser is a council member of the Society for Psychical Research and former Vice Chair of the Ghost Club . He has written previous books on Ghost Hunting and on Poltergeists. He has also featured in many Magazines including the Fortean Times and Haunted, as well as appearing on British and Japanese TV.

My Special Guest Is Brian Antonson
A 'radio guy' by trade, Brian has spent a career in radio and in broadcast education, leading the faculty team in the Broadcast and Media Communications department at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, which has trained some of the leading broadcasters in British Columbia, Canada, and indeed, across the globe.
Brian Antonson's latest book is Slumach's Gold: In Search of a Legend-and a Curse (Heritage House Publishers, 2024) co-authored with Mary Trainer and Rick Antonson. It is a significantly updated 3rd edition of a bestseller, in a striking new format.
Brian co-founded Nunaga Publishing (later known as Antonson Publishing) with his brother Rick Antonson and their friend Mary Trainer in 1972. Together they published twenty-five books (focused on the outdoors, history, and national issues). Their co-authored first edition of "In Search of a Legend: Slumach’s Gold," was released in 1972. The book was re-released in a much-expanded version in 2007. Brian was editor of Canadian Frontier magazine and later was co-editor (with Gordon Stewart) of the Canadian Frontier Annual (book) in 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979. He is co-author of "Whistle Posts West: Railway Tales from British Columbia, Alberta and Yukon," published by Heritage House in 2015. Brian was production director at CKNW/98 New Westminster and general manager at CFVR/850 in Abbotsford, and was associate dean of Broadcast and Media Communications at the British Columbia Institute of Technology BCIT) from 1985 to 2010. He and his wife Sue live in Mission, British Columbia, Canada.

In this episode, we delve into the harrowing events of Ireland’s last witch trials, which took place in 1711 in Carrickfergus, County Antrim. The story begins with the sudden death of Ann Haltridge, an elderly widow and the victim of months of supernatural torment. After her funeral, her niece, Mary Dunbar, arrived at the family home, only to fall prey to terrifying symptoms of demonic possession, from convulsions to levitating.
Over a single month, Mary accused eight local women of using witchcraft to attack her and summon demons. Despite their denials, the women were convicted under the Irish Witchcraft Act and sentenced to imprisonment and public punishment in the pillory. The case took another dark turn when Mary’s health deteriorated further, and William Sellor, a relative of two convicted women, was accused and likely executed for his supposed role in bewitching her.

Naomi Ryan is a criminal barrister and lover of all things macabre. After qualifying with a Masters in Law from St Catherine’s College, Oxford, she taught criminal law to undergraduates at St Hilda’s College Oxford and University College London before embarking on her career as a criminal barrister, where she both prosecuted and defended. She later moved into the Civil Service, where she has advised an array of senior government and legal figures on matters of constitutional, public and criminal law. She continues to work as an advisory lawyer whilst regularly giving talks about the darker side of legal history.

My Special Guest Is Ruth Roper-Wylde
Ruth is a partially retired Civil Servant, living in Bedfordshire, UK with her husband and dog. Much of her career was spent as an investigator – firstly in Fraud/Theft and later in Bullying/Harassment/Discrimination claims.
She has a lifelong fascination with the supernatural and unexplained, stemming from formative years spent living in a house with an active poltergeist in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. As a hobby therefore over the years, she researched for endless hours on the subject with the idea of eventually writing a book.
She brings a healthy dose of scepticism and desire for scientific explanation to her research and writing, which was instilled by her ever pragmatic mother: who when presented with an inexplicably flying knife in the kitchen, calmly took out a tape measure and measured the length of its flight path.
Seven years ago, when the opportunity to take partial early retirement presented itself, Ruth decided to make her idea of writing a book into reality, and has since published eight books as an independent author:
“The Ghosts of Marston Vale”,
“The Almanac of British Ghosts”,
“These Haunted Times: Volumes One, Two, Three and Four"
“The Roadmap of British Ghosts: Volumes One and Two”.
She is currently writing book 9….which will be These Haunted Times Volume Five - America.
