In today’s episode I am beyond grateful to have Kandice Porter sitting by my side as I pass her the mic for this interview. Kandice has been with me and has encouraged me through many ups and downs.  She has been a shoulder for me to cry on (literally), and I couldn’t think of a better guest to have with me as I close the door to my podcasting journey…for this season.

Kandice is a dynamic storyteller and a champion of Black women. She provides a safe space for Black women to come together to tell their stories in their own words.  You may connect with her here.

Today, Kandice helps me explore the beginning of my business and podcasting journeys to reflect on all the good, the growth, the changes, and what’s to come next. I hope you feel heard and seen as I share my “why” for needing to hit the pause button.

  • I heard you were thinking about making your own podcast!?

Well, you have come to the right place. This is such a fun and different episode as I take you behind the scenes of my podcasting journey. You already know me, Michelle Fox, the voice and vision behind the microphone, but today I am  thrilled to share with you the insights and experiences that shape our show.

Our podcast team is a beautiful example of the community I speak of on the show! We are 3 women from different parts of the U.S., in different stages of life, different family make-ups, different backgrounds, etc.; however, we were joined together via the internet to create an amazing team!

I am joined by our Podcast Manager, Brittany McCray and Digital Marketing Assistant, Shirley Lin on this episode. Brittany recently transitioned her career from a teacher of 13 years to her new role as a Podcast Manager. She is also a wife and mother of two girls.

Shirley Lin is a highly motivated, hard working college student with a very focused eye and a kind demeanor.  Today we give you a peek into the intricacies of podcast production and management, revealing the passion and precision that goes into every episode. You’ll also hear there’s a bit of a mix up on hosting today as well!!

I hope you enjoy this episode and perhaps use this as the boost you’ve been waiting for to start your own podcasting journey!

  • You might need your headphones for this one! 😂 Today, I have the absolute pleasure of talking with Amber Joy Simon, a former HR executive turned CEO of QUIVR, a platform dedicated to sexual wellness and education.

Our very spicy conversation discusses the importance of pursuing pleasure regardless of relationship status or age. Amber also emphasizes the need for self-love, self-pleasure, and dispels taboos around female masturbation. We’re going to address the complexities faced by women during different stages of life, in their 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond, as well as the importance of sexual education for both men and women. Be ready to expand your mind and be sure to visit QUIVR, as soon as you’re done listening!

  • If you’re an animal lover like me, you will be elated to hear the conversation I have today with Dr. Casara Andre. She is not just a veterinarian extraordinaire, but a leader in her mission to create a safe haven for men and women in the medical community. She works tirelessly in various non-profit organizations to provide assistance with all healers, humans and animals alike.

During this conversation, Dr. Casara shines a glowing light on the beauty of the human-animal bond: what it means for human health and wellbeing AND animal health and wellbeing. We will explore this amazing bond today. As a dog mom myself, I know it is a gift worth defending and nurturing!

  • Today’s episode is very special as I am joined by my husband Steve, also known as Hot Husband, as we delve into a follow-up conversation about his sobriety journey. At the time of this recording, we were just a few weeks away from celebrating two years of his sobriety.  We are elated to share our experiences and insights with you and share how Steve is doing!

Spoiler alert:  Steve celebrated 2 years of sobriety on September 18, 2023.  🙌🏾

If you are on a journey to sobriety, or know someone who is, my hope is that this episode will provide the encouragement and guidance you need to live a healthier and supported life.  As Steve tells us, it’s important to remember that you are not alone. Many people have been through similar challenges and can offer support and guidance.

If you are struggling, please reach out for help. There are many resources available to you, including support groups, therapy, and medication. We have found Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Al-Anon as beacons of support, but please don’t give up on finding your tribe if these don’t resonate with you.  You owe it to yourself to reach for a better way!
