  • More than 100 days into the war with Iran, why does it still feel like nobody is telling the whole truth? In this episode, Heidi Harris talks with author and jihad expert Robert Spencer of JihadWatch.org about Donald Trump, Iran, Netanyahu, Islam, and the growing divide inside the MAGA movement over foreign policy.

Spencer argues that the West fundamentally misunderstands Islam — and that misunderstanding is shaping dangerous decisions in the Middle East. The conversation covers regime change in Iran, whether Trump believes he can “make a deal” with radical Islamic leaders, the future of Israel’s relationship with the United States, and why many ordinary Iranians remain trapped under a brutal regime they desperately want removed.

This is a candid, unfiltered discussion about war, ideology, geopolitics, and the long game being played in the Middle East.

  • @Peter_Kasl

Heidi Harris interviews Peter Kasl, author of Escaping the Grip of Eastern European Communism, who shares his firsthand experience growing up under communist rule in Czechoslovakia and his family’s dramatic escape to freedom.

Kasl explains that even as a child, he understood communism was oppressive because his parents and grandparents—strongly anti-communist—constantly corrected the propaganda he was taught in school. Life under the regime required conformity: joining the Communist Party was essential for education, career advancement, and basic opportunities. His family refused, which limited their prospects and subjected them to scrutiny.

He describes how communism fostered a culture of fear, surveillance, and distrust. Citizens were incentivized to report one another, creating widespread suspicion and jealousy. Even small advantages—like owning a better car or earning extra income—could trigger investigations or punishment. Private enterprise was illegal, forcing his father to secretly repair cars in exchange for goods.

Kasl recounts his family’s carefully planned escape in 1983. Without telling the children, three families coordinated over years to flee. Under the guise of a vacation, they traveled through Eastern Europe, ultimately crossing into Austria illegally by hiking through mountainous terrain. From there, they made their way to West Germany and sought asylum, eventually immigrating to the United States. Their acceptance depended in part on not being affiliated with the Communist Party.

Upon arriving in the U.S., Kasl experienced a stark contrast: a society where individual effort mattered more than background. He emphasizes America’s unique openness compared to Europe, where immigrants were often permanently labeled as outsiders.

Returning years later to his homeland after the fall of communism, Kasl observed that many people struggled to adapt to freedom. Decades of living under authoritarian control had conditioned them to expect limited opportunity and government dependence. Some even expressed nostalgia for communism due to the false sense of security it provided.

Throughout the conversation, Kasl and Harris draw parallels between communist systems and modern societal trends, particularly during COVID-era restrictions. Kasl warns that freedom can erode gradually when people become complacent or trade liberty for perceived safety.

He also discusses how communism suppresses religion, replacing it with state ideology, and highlights the system’s historical record of oppression, inequality, and mass suffering. He stresses that communism, socialism, and similar ideologies often promise equality but instead concentrate power among elites.

Kasl concludes by expressing deep gratitude for the United States and a desire to educate younger generations—especially students—about the realities of communism, which he believes are widely misunderstood.

  • Allowing politicians to take your peace is voluntarily regardless of their schemes to obtain, maintain and increase their power. God's plan will go on regardless. I had a guy on Facebook argue with me about God's plan and calling me intolerant because I wasn't open to other people's gods in their plans. So I addressed that in this podcast.

  • I had a chance in 2015 to speak with a legendary Mont Rock III. He was best known as the colorful DJ in Saturday night fever. He fronted a band called Disco Tex and the Sex O'Lettes during the 70s. He was a famous hairdresser, frequent guest on the Tonight Show, and as he put it in his own words, "Famous for Being Famous".

I'm now sharing the interview because he passed away last week in Las Vegas. He was quite a character, in a town full of characters. And he was a huge fan of Donald Trump! Who knew?

Here's a link to his most famous song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=4&v=FdkhViXqnSk&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fduckduckgo.com%2F&themeRefresh=1

  • We are watching deeply disturbed young people spiral — and instead of confronting the mental health crisis head-on, we keep arguing about politics. We need to acknowledge what is happening with trans kids shooting up schools, and the underlying causes. These are individuals in profound psychological distress who needed intervention long before violence ever entered the picture.

They need serious, long-term mental health care — therapy, psychiatric evaluation, family involvement, and accountability.

  • Heidi Harris sits down with the state’s Lieutenant Governor and Marshi Smith, a longtime women’s sports advocate, for a candid discussion on protecting women’s sports and the opportunities they provide. The conversation focuses on the original intent of women’s athletics—to ensure fair competition, safety, and equal opportunity—and how those principles are being challenged today.

Marshi Smith brings the perspective of athletes and advocates who have spent decades fighting for women’s sports, outlining concerns about competitive balance, scholarships, and the long-term impact on girls and young women. The Lieutenant Governor discusses the issue from a policy and governance standpoint, including how state leaders are approaching questions of fairness, Title IX, and the role of legislation versus athletic governing bodies.

Rather than slogans, the discussion centers on real-world consequences, unresolved questions, and the difficulty of navigating an emotionally charged issue while respecting women’s rights and the integrity of female athletics.

  • Today’s podcast tackles a difficult and timely story from Minnesota through two very different lenses.

A veteran firearms and use-of-force trainer weighs in on the recent shooting, focusing on tactics, decision-making, and what often gets missed in early reporting. And Ira Melhman, Media Director from the Federation for American Immigration Reform, joined me to examine the broader policy and enforcement questions the case raises. Two perspectives, one headline, and a commitment to understanding—not sound bites.

With trademark clarity, she examines how blind devotion to political figures—left or right—undermines accountability, erodes critical thinking, and turns citizens into fans instead of watchdogs.

  • Chip and Joanna Gaines are Cable TV stars, famous for their ability to decorate, their company called Magnolia and their Christianity. Now they’re starting a new show where one of the couples featured is comprised of two men and two children they acquired through surrogacy.

A lot of Christians are understandably upset about this, including me. Children need moms and dads, period, and to try to normalize anything else is an injustice not only to children, but also to society, and certainly does nothing to enhance the “Christian” brand that they claim to represent. It’s sad to see people targeted by culture bullies and succumb to the pressure. The backlash from Christians has been intense. Will the new show tank as a result? Stay tuned

  • In this eye-opening episode, I sat down with a man who doesn’t just talk about homelessness — he fixes it. My guest, Dr. Dave Marlon, is an expert with boots on the ground, working daily to pull people out of despair and prevent the crisis from exploding in Las Vegas. Together, we cut through the hand-wringing and political posturing to talk about practical, proven strategies for helping the homeless and keeping more people from ending up on the streets. No sugarcoating, no empty promises — just real talk about real solutions.

  • Heidi sat down with retired U.S. Air Force General Robert “Blend’r” Novotny for a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the testing of one of America’s most formidable weapons: the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator, and how effectively the Midnight Hammer operation was executed.

With firsthand experience and no political spin, Gen. Novotny walks us through the science, strategy, and sheer power behind this 30,000-pound bunker buster—built to destroy deeply fortified targets with precision. It’s a candid conversation about high-stakes testing, military innovation, and the quiet professionals who make it all work.

  • Jerry Del Colliano is a professor at NYU Steinhardt, focusing on Music and the Media Industry. His bio is below. We had a great chat about how young people today are viewing media, how we in older forms of media can still reach them, and what happens if we don’t.

    Bio:
Jerry Del Colliano is a broadcaster, media executive, and educator whose background uniquely includes the music industry and its often-disruptive convergence with traditional and digital media.

He is the publisher of Inside Music Media, the aptly named and deadly honest paid-subscription publication that is read by music and media executives as well as investors and global interests looking to see the future of these important industries. Jerry was also the founder of Inside Radio and was a Clinical Professor of Music Industry at the University of Southern California.

Jerry’s background includes major market television, radio (on-air and program management), traditional and digital publishing, speaking, and consulting. He is considered a key resource in music and media matters and has been interviewed by The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The New York Post, Columbia Journalism Review, Daily Beast, Washington Post, Forbes, Fortune, Rolling Stone, Newsweek, CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC’s 20/20, and numerous media outlets.

Professor Del Colliano has conducted conferences, brainstorming sessions, and custom seminars for various music and media clients through his business and teaching. He has worked with music and media companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Universal Music, Emmis Broadcasting, Warner Music, and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.

Jerry was born across the river in Hoboken, NJ. At USC, his collaborative teaching style was based on Jerry’s philosophy that “the teacher and the taught together do the teaching.” He was also Director of Executive Programs at USC Thornton School of Music and encouraged participation of industry innovators with classroom learning.

At NYU, Professor Del Colliano teaches Music in the Media Industry focusing on the implications of the transition from linear to digital media. How did we arrive at this point and what is the future of two industries whose fate has been and will always be so closely tied together? He introduces the perspective of studying music/media together by understanding generational preferences and habits.

Jerry’s interest in motivation and self-improvement led to the creation of NYU/Steinhardt’s “Stress-free Living and Working in the Music Industry” that he also teaches. The course focuses on unique mental health issues that face musicians and artists, mental health for performers, building resilience, managing digital life, the stress of internship and college life, performance anxiety and imposter syndrome to ultimately design a stress-free “Life Plan.”

He was a Dale Carnegie Course instructor for over a decade, the author of Out of Bad Comes Good – The Advantages of Disadvantages and publishes an empowering lifestyle publication, “DayStarters.”

He is the father of two children and with his wife, Cheryl, lives in Moorestown, NJ. He earned a B.S. degree in communications from Temple University.

Professor Del Colliano says, “It is an honor to work with Larry Miller and the NYU Steinhardt Music Business faculty in such a progressive and relevant program.”

  • A few years ago I had the privilege of speaking with two former POW’s, Captain Ray Alcorn (USN) and Major Steven Long (USAF), held for 7 and 5 years respectively during the Vietnam war. Here are their stories in their own words. Please share this with anyone you believe might want to hear it.

  • Is Vegas still a value? What’s really happening with visitorship, F1, and the perception of Vegas as a value?

Scott Roeben, purveyor of @VitalVegas and VitalVegas.com, joined me for an update on Vegas. We talked about who’s coming to Vegas and why, sexual harassment culture in casinos, and more!

Book Scott mentioned: “Addiction by Design” https://www.amazon.com/Addiction-Design-Machine-Gambling-Vegas/dp/0691160880

Scott posted this list in 2018, and it still holds true. These changes would go a long way to making things better:

“MAKE LAS VEGAS A VALUE AGAIN”

*We’ve heard you and we want you back.

*We’re done sacrificing your long-term goodwill for our short-term gain, and we’re ready to make dramatic changes to prove we deserve you, your time and your business.

*Here’s how we’ll do it, starting today. Because with each passing day people just like you are deciding not to visit as often, or at all. Enough is enough.

*First, we’ll roll back parking fees. We screwed the pooch on that, and we apologize.

We’re also doing away with resort fees. Your room rate will go up a bit, but we’re done playing that game and Vegas room prices will continue to be some of the best values anywhere.

*Our pledge is simple: No more convenience fees, processing fees, CNF charges, venue fees and tap water fees. No, really, that was a thing. Sorry.

*In our casinos, we’re done changing the rules to squeeze every last penny out of you.

We’re doing away with 6-to-5 blackjack and triple zero roulette, for starters. We’re doing it whether or not you know why those things are bad for players, because Vegas needs to get back to being Vegas.

*Oh, and this straw ban is horseshit. We’ll find better ways to help the environment than annoying every customer who orders a cocktail.

*These are just a few of the things we’re changing to win you over all over again.

What happens in Vegas has never stayed in Vegas, and when you talk about us, we want you to say nice things.

*We’re not claiming Las Vegas will be cheap. It costs money to build shiny new things.

But we’re committed to providing value.

*Every day, we’re going to treat you like a person, not a number. We want you back.

We promise to listen more, nickel-and-dime less, and we’re fully prepared to ride the asses of those who don’t get why these changes are vital to making Las Vegas great, and a great value, again.

  • Why do some “men” marry the kind of women Dr. Laura has described as “hit women”? These wives put a wedge between the son and his family, even when it’s not warranted. We see it in famous families, and not-so-famous families. It’s one thing to prioritize your wife, which you should, but when she is the source of the conflict, and he chose to marry her anyway, it’s often because the “man” has not made a healthy separation from his family, so he considers kowtowing to her and “no contact” as the only solution. Often there’s a better way
