This week on the HCDU Podcast, Jake and I are joined by Harrison Lee of OSA Australia. Jake and I were lucky enough to be invited to Southern NSW by Harrison to chase a few Fallow at the tail end of the rut back in April.
We were fortunate to test a bit of gear that we wouldn't normally be able to get our hands on, hopefully this opens a few ideas for you guys when your looking for a new bit of kit.
Hope you enjoy!!

Some of you may or may not of heard the name Brian Barney, this little bowhunting ninja from Montana USA is a stand up guy, an unbelievable bowhunter and someone I get to call a good friend. Brian is well known for his own podcast Eastmans Elevated, many articles in Eastmans Magazines and featured in many of their films on Eastmans TV and Beyond the Grid with Dan Pickar.
On my Elk hunt last year with Josh Rogers, we offered Brian to come down to Australia to hunt our Red Deer, Sambar and whatever else we could throw at him. Well it didn't take much arm twisting and the plane flights were booked.
Here is the story of Brians first Red Deer hunt in Australia.
Be sure to check out Brians Podcast - "Eastmans Elevated" wherever you listen to your podcasts.

Righto guys if you missed last week, I suggest downloading before you dive deep with Part 2.
Honestly this podcast could have went on for hours, I hope one day I can feed Brad enough beers to do it all over again.
🎤 Q and A with Brad Smith - If this was to be one of the last podcasts I was to ever record, then I feel my job for the Australian Bowhunting Community would be done.
For most Aussie bowhunters, the name Brad Smith has most probably been mentioned in conversation not just once but many times.
For over 30 years Brad has been behind the bow and a good majority of those years filming each and every one of his and many others hunts. It would be no exaggeration that Brad has seen several thousand animals taken with the bow and what he hasn't seen probably doesn't exist or is yet to happen.
Now Im one of the very lucky people to call Smithy one of my good mates and when he asked me to bring my gear over to Brad Murphys, Building Better Bowhunter courses in Tamworth, and record a Podcast in a Q & A type scenario, it didn't take much arm twisting.
For anyone that knows Brad personally, he is as humble as they come and hates any attention, so this 2 part podcast is so special in many ways.
I cant thank Brad enough for this, its amazing what a 9:30am start on the Blackfish followed by a few Red fish can do for the confidence and nerves. (Great Northern Beers for those that don't have any idea what fish Im talking about).
Massive thanks to everyone involved, special mention to Matty Moore and Brad Murphy for help making this happen!!
This podcast is proudly bought to you by OSA Australia and Hoyt Bowhunting.

Aislin Jones developed an interest in shooting while following her father David Jones, around the Bairnsdale Field and Game clay target range from an early age. She started shooting in 2012 and switched from simulated field to skeet later that year. Jones competed in her first Australian Clay Target Association (ACTA) national championships at the age of 13, held at Wagga Wagga in 2013. The following year she won six medals at the ACTA national championships at Wagga Wagga and the National Women's Champion of Champions in the mixed 12 gauge/20 gauge event with a score of 99/100.
In late 2014 she switched from American Skeet to ISSF skeet in order to achieve her Olympic and Commonwealth Games aspirations. At her first competitive ISSF skeet shoot in October 2014, she won the Victorian Ladies' Championship at Werribee Clay Target Club.
In 2015 she competed in her first international competition, finishing 23rd in the junior world championships and 6th in the ISSF junior cup. In early 2016 she became the youngest winner of the Australian National Skeet Championship at the age of 15.
Aislin Jones represented Australia in Women's Skeet at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016, finishing in 17th place. She was the second youngest Australian athlete, and the youngest of the 390 shooting athletes from around the world. At 16 years of age, she was also the youngest Australian shooter ever to compete at any Olympic Games
In October 2017 she broke the Oceania Women's Skeet, junior and senior record and in January 2018, at the Australian Nationals in Echuca she won the Commonwealth championship, Australian Championship and High Gun.
In March 2018 she won her first ISSF gold medal at the Junior World Cup in Sydney.

Jason Spencer lives and breathes eating what you hunt, so much so that Jason has turned a hobby into a lifestyle, making the best of what he hunts.
Jason has managed to avoid purchasing meat for many years and doesn't plan to change that anytime soon.
Two books and numerous cooking shows, Jason also has a passion for sharing what he loves.
Tobie and Jason talk about where it all came from, where he hopes to go and a few hunting stories in between.

This one is a bit of a boys chat, so if you don’t like swearing, we apologise in advance!!
.
Couple of weeks ago we caught up with Scotty Reynolds for a knife course and got on the beers for the Saturday night with a few drop-ins.
.
We cover plenty of topics and there might actually be something to come out of this but none the less a great time was had with Scotty and I highly recommend is knife course. A great weekend away in some beautiful countryside.
