Hot off the press we’ve got a very important solo-cast with Maria: talking about Life Transitions and the cycles of time. A lot of folks have a lot of tangled up grief and emotions around transitions: from being a child to a teenager, to what does adulthood even mea? what and where are the elders supposed to look like, why even bother looking forward to aging? The thing is most of these life cycles, are paradoxically, not going to change! They are an eternal constant, visible in the iching, the tarot, the way seeds are planted, grown, fruit and are replanted again. Hello and welcome to a thorny banger! This is honestly a very tricky topic to discuss as most folks can have a lot of built-up trauma around money, systemic power struggles, and perceptions with income classes that’s just got it good. As much as spirituality and Love steeps all things, very “societal” constructs: like classism and privilege are these very real karmic-imprints/thought-forms/collectively-shared-baggage that can’t be just philosophized away but is something that needs to be seen with utmost clarity, compassion and alchemy. A very human integration to say, spiritual experience.

Continuing an old series (since feb pa!) — the creative process as spiritual discipline. In this new podcast episode we have as our guest, Nix, a practicing korean folk-shaman and anthropologist sitting us down and easefully combing for us the core differences in thinking around western and eastern mystical-spiritual practices. In the second installment of creative process as spiritual discipline we talk about somatics and dancing! The podcast gives a brief overview of mystery traditions that relate to ecstatic release and cultures of movement in communities. We then segway to artistic containers and explorations, of authentic movement, allowing dance (and a bit of theater) to alchemize experiences that can be often so hard to verbalize. Maria traces the mechanics of why bodywork, curiosity and awareness is important and translates what an everyday, allied relationship with the body can look like and how to easefully get there. In this very special episode we’ve got not one! But TWO people talking about what it’s like to live a life as a multi-soul (they/themz) magnificence, and what’s the deal on how it is similiar and dissimilar to queerness, neurodivergence, DID (dissociative identity disorder), parts work/internal family systems and just overall! expanded notions of being. So many spiritual circles keep interrogating a singular self — when a lot of local cultures (we talk about this in podcast) have such a multiple/twinned notions of our spirits and we’re really here to weave prod and walk around with you other definitions of existing in a singular body.
We talk about how personalities fissure in trauma, how they synergize, how walk-ins happen and just what it’s like to live an authentic, and TOTALLY fractaled self.
