In a country obsessed with gossip, the great and the good fear one thing more than any other - scandal.
British scandals change the course of history. They bring down governments, overthrow the rich and cause the mighty to fall. Some are about sex, others about money. In the end, they’re all about power.
But often at the heart of a scandal, there are ordinary human stories. Stories of those caught up in the swirl of outrage.
Who was really to blame for what happened? Why did they do it? And when all is said and done, did anything really change?
From the creators of Business Wars, American Scandal and Ghost Story, comes British Scandal. Each week, hosts Alice Levine and Matt Forde delve into the murkier side of the British elite, from Phone Hacking to Profumo to the short-lived premiership of Liz Truss. Because sometimes the truth doesn’t set everyone free…

Each episode explores a different theme from LGBTQIA+ life through log book entries, dozens of voices sharing their own memories, and conversations about being queer today.

The Interesting Bits is an attempt to delve into the stories of some of history’s underdogs – the forgotten majority who never became historical celebrities but played their part nonetheless. It is designed as an antidote to the ‘big’ narratives of wars and politicians which dominate history books and which suggest history has some overall point. It is here to tell the stories of the mad, bad, stupid, wonderful, odd and improbable things that happened to our ancestors. They have no greater meaning, no direction and no overarching theme beyond being worthy of note, perhaps even memorable and reminding us that the past was as daft as the present and the people of the past were as daft as us. That’s what actually links us.

The sinking of the General Belgrano was the bloodiest and most controversial military action of the Falklands War. This is the story of government cover-ups and conspiracies; of whistleblowers, crusading politicians and journalists fighting for the story. And caught in the middle of it all, a young officer whose account of what happened contradicted Margaret Thatcher’s in every crucial detail.

There is a town in the English Cotswolds, sometimes referred to as the most Regency place in the world. But it's not all bonnets and townhouses: this is the story of Cheltenham, the home of British spying. From the madness of King George to the madness of Geoffrey Prime, and the construction of the Donut to the leaking of GCHQ files by Edward Snowden, Cheltenham has been at the centre of global espionage for a century. Does this town know too much?
“Hilton’s script is beautiful... knowingly florid, ironically meandering... one of those rare
moments when a podcast slips the surly bonds of being merely audio entertainment and
approaches the condition of art” – James Marriott, The Times
“Hilton is a terrific narrator and the writing is densely packed... florid descriptions are mixed
with reflective commentary, unexpected pop culture references and the odd brilliantly timed
gag” – Fiona Sturges, Financial Times
“Hilton’s investigative dedication and wry humour make these series utterly gripping” –
Miranda Sawyer, The Observer

Think history is a boys club? Think again. In this podcast History Gap we are looking back to pull up the women throughout history that might have fallen through the cracks.
Join (extremely) amateur history fans comedy writer Mollie Goodfellow and creator and producer Jorja McAndrew as they educate themselves on some of the cool women from the past that they didn’t learn about in history lessons - mostly because they weren’t listening.
From Junko Tabei, incredible mountain climber, to Anne Lister, dubbed the ‘first modern lesbian’, History Gap is a snappy look at the stories of women who were doing brave, exciting, sometimes evil but always interesting things with new episodes dropping weekly. -

The London Society is for all those who love London. Our aim is to translate and bring clarity to the complex issues that impact on our ‘built environment’ and ultimately the people who live and work in London.
Founded in 1912 by a group of influential Londoners concerned about the lack of vision for the future of the capital, for more than 100 years it has brought people together to debate key issues about the future of London.
London needs an independent forum that can act independently to support people in discovering and discussing important matters that face the city. The London Society has been and remains that place. Be part of the revival and listen to the debate.

Chaos and Control is a documentary-style podcast exploring the story of birth control in America. It takes a critical look at the history of the birth control movement and the development of the pill, the work and impact of various women's health movements, the criminalization of contraception and abortion, and the social and cultural systems that have shaped the current conversation around birth control.
Like, what is the role of hormonal birth control in a post-Roe America? Is birth control toxic? Why are so many women sharing their negative experiences? What does contraception free from coercion look like? And most importantly, how did we get here? Explore these questions and more—as well as interviews with historians, sociologists, doulas, and young women—in Chaos & Control.

Enjoy these interviews where the storytellers had the opportunity to tell their punk story. Original interviews were conducted in 2016 with Punks giving their account of their street level experiences of the Punk scene. I am now collecting new stories in 2024. I have shared them as podcasts so that others further afield could enjoy them.
