In this first segment of our program, Dave and I will be discussing his latest book Judgment Day! Islam, Israel, and the Nations, and right now we are in the last chapter, chapter 15.
And, Dave, you begin chapter 15 by stating that Israel will not go down to destruction without using its ultimate weapons, meaning nuclear armed missiles. And you say this is related to the battle of Armageddon, which the Bible prophesies will take place. Can tell us how this is developing and at what point Armageddon will take place? But again, prior to that, what about Israel, you know?

In this first segment of our program, Dave and I will be discussing his latest book Judgment Day! Islam, Israel, and the Nations, and weâre heading for the finish line as we begin the last chapter, chapter 15. And, Dave, itâs not as though weâve been dragging our feet or anything, but since the time we started youâve managed to complete a second edition, which is definitely an expanded version, so what have you added?

We are and have been discussing Dave Huntâs latest book Judgment Day! Islam, Israel, and the Nations. Thatâs what weâve been doing, Dave, as you know, for almost 24 weeks now in this first segment of our program.
Dave, you end chapter 13 by giving what you call âHopeful Signs among Muslims Related to Terrorism.â Now, that comes after chapter after chapter of things that gravely concern us about what takes place in Islam. But now, what are these hopeful signs, and in what way do you think they are truly hopeful?

Tom: Thanks, Gary. Dave, as you know, for the last two weeks we discussed the critical distinctions between Roman Catholicism and biblical Christianity, and following that discussion we need to address the differences between Islam and biblical Christianity, especially regarding salvation. So letâs begin with your chapter title: âHow, or on What Basis, and to Whom Does the God of the Bible Offer Salvation?â
Dave: Yeah, Tom, itâs a good question. Itâs a logical question. The fact is that we have broken Godâs laws; everybody knows that. You break the laws of the state, and you canât tell the judge, âWell, let me off this time and from now on Iâll never break the law again.â

Tom: Thanks, Gary. In this our opening segment of Search the Scriptures, we are continuing our discussion of Dave Huntâs latest book Judgment Day! Islam, Israel, and the Nations. Weâre in chapter 12, titled âSome Important Distinctions.â What about evangelical Christians? Why do you, in the book, call them âIsraelâs true friends?â
Dave: Well, Tom, let me just briefly comment on what you just said, because some people may have misunderstood, or donât know: Why would this be of such importance for Jews to know the distinction between evangelical Christians and Roman Catholics? Because it was the Roman Catholic Church that led the Crusades. They had two crusades. They slaughtered Jews all across Europe. They chased the Jews into the synagogues, set it ablaze when they took Jerusalem. Theyâve been persecuting Jews down through the centuries. It was the popes who first put the Jews in ghettos, made them wear an identifyingâŠ

Tom: Dave, as we mentioned last week, the majority of Jewish peopleâpractically all, you could sayâmake no distinction between Catholics and evangelicals, which leads to some serious misunderstandings.
Dave: Tom, as we mentioned last week, one of the biggest complaints that Jewish people have against Christians, or Christianity, is that it was the Christians that persecuted them down through the centuries. Hitler was a Christian, wasnât he? Well he was never excommunicated from the Catholic Church; neither was Mussolini, so they have a misperception that Catholics are Christians. Now, you canât call yourself a Christian unless you follow the teaching and example of Jesus Christ, unless you follow the Bible and the gospel, and the Catholic Churchâwe wonât get into a big doctrinal thing about thatâbut the Catholic Church openly says it does not just go by the Bible, it goes by church tradition, as well. And as you know, an ex-Catholic, tradition is on the same level as the Bible.

Well, Tom, there are so many promises like that in the Bibleâliterally hundreds. We had mentioned in the very beginning when we started to study this book in our first segment of the program: anti-Semitism. It is one of the prophecies in the Bible, one of the great proofs. God said these people would be hated and persecuted and killed like no other people, and it came to pass. We explained what anti-Semitism is. Why? Itâs satanic, and that can be very easily established by logic and from the Scriptures. As soon as God said to Satan, the serpent in the garden, âThe seed of the woman is going to bruise your headâŠâ in other words, âYou will be destroyed by a virgin-born Man, born of a woman, somewhere down in history,â Satan began to look for this Person. We find this all through history, and we donât have time to document that. But whether it was Haman, who would wipe out all the Jews in the days of Esther, whether it was Herod who was going to make sure he killed the Messiah, all down through history weâve had this happening.

Yeah, Tom, thatâs one of things, I guess, that makes Judgment Day different from most of the books out there. You have books that either deal with prophecy and donât really get into whatâs happening, or you have other books, excellent books, that tell you about the terrorism in Islam, and so forth, but they have no correlation with prophecy, and we start this book out pointing to prophecy. These are Godâs people. Two hundred and three times in the Bible He calls Himself the God of Israel, and the Bible lays out, as you saidâitâs history written in advanceâit lays out exactly what is going to happen to the Jewish people and what is happening in the Middle East. So we are continually referring to prophecy, and thatâs really the foundation, because God is in charge. He tells us whatâs going to happen. So we better follow that, and that is one of the major problems that I point out in the book: the nations of the world are defying the God of Israel. He has said what He is going to do with this land. He has made promises to these people, and the world is defying Him and taking that land away.

Last week we were discussing, as we have been for a number of weeks, Dave Huntâs latest book Judgment Day! Islam, Israel, and the Nations. And, Dave, we were in chapter 10. I thought weâd get through it, but we left a few items out that I think are worth going back to. You have a heading titled âIslamâs Legacy of Death and Western Blindness.â Now, also last week, we gave some quotesâfor some of our listeners, just to remind them, we quoted from former President Jimmy Carter, trying to find a verse in the Qurâan that had to do with peace. And he found one, but it really had nothing to do with peace, it had to do with the spoils of war.

In a couple sentences, the book lays out this proposition: Israel is the number one topic of the Bible. The Bible says more about Israel than about anything else, even the Messiah. It makes prophecies about Israel. God makes promises to Israel. The world is defying Him, so we suggest that if what the Bible says about Israel is not true, then every synagogue and every Christian church ought to shut its doors and admit that this is a fraud. If what the Bible says is true, the leaders of this world, the political leaders, religious leaders better shape up to what God says, or they are heading for heavy judgment, and thatâs where the title of this book comes from: Judgment Day. And God saysâwe point this out at the very beginningâGod says in Joel 3:2: âI am going to punish all the nations of this world for two things: they have scattered my people everywhereâŠâ This is anti-Semitism, been going on for centuries. But then God says, ââŠand they have divided my land.â And that has never happened until our generation. I say âmy generation,â within my time.

In chapter 8, titled âFacing Hard Facts,â you quote Article 18 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which reads: âEveryone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.â Amazingly, this was approved by a number of Muslim countries, including Saudi Arabia; yet in practice, regarding Saudi Arabia in particular, this is a fraud.
