Claudette Colvin is an American pioneer of the 1950 civil rights movement and retired nurse aide. Now what she is known for… our I should say not known for, is on March 2, 1955, she was arrested at the age of 15 in Montgomery, Alabama, for refusing to give up her seat to a white woman on a, segregated bus 9 month before Rosa Parks.

Johnny was only 10 years old when join to fight for the Union during the Civil War. He is the youngest soldier ever to become a noncommissioned officer in the U.S. Army, and became known as the “Drummer Boy of Chickamauga.”
