  • A former police chief orchestrates the cold-blooded murder of his wife's ex and his new girlfriend in a twisted custody battle that rocked a small New York town. When Josh Niles and Amber Washburn were gunned down in their driveway, no one suspected the mastermind was Tim Dean - an ex-police chief who crossed state lines to commit murder at his wife's behest.

This chilling true crime case reveals how a custody dispute spiraled into deadly violence when Charlene Childers lost her children due to her new husband's abuse allegations. Despite her tearful appearances at vigils and funerals, Charlene had orchestrated the entire plot, manipulating her police chief husband to eliminate her custody problem permanently.

Watch as investigators unravel an inept murder conspiracy involving rental cars, crossed jurisdictions, and a trail of evidence that led straight back to a former top cop who should have known better. This shocking story proves that sometimes the most dangerous criminals are the ones sworn to uphold the law.

  • In September of 1978, Rodney Alcala won the date with Cheryl Bradshaw on the popular show, The Dating Game. It was said that his charm and use of innuendo ultimately got him the win. It was also said that this alleged charm was what enabled him to rape and murder at least eight women. It is believed, though, that he may have killed over 100 women in the 1970’s.

  • In the early morning hours of Sunday, May 29th, 2005, shots rang out from the Shaker Farm in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Nikki Vagades received a call from her 15-year-old step sister, begging for help. When Nikki arrived at the farmhouse, she immediately called 911. Detectives arrived to find six people on the property, all dead from gunshot wounds. Stacy Moody, the youngest child that lived in the house, was barely alive. Just a few hours later, the Logan County Sheriff had closed the case, ruling it a murder-suicide. Despite his certainty, MANY people continue to question whether this massacre was a planned cover-up, possibly by law enforcement.

  • When the congregation of a church in Fort Walton Beach, Florida learned that their pastor and his wife brought a woman into their home to help her when she was down on her luck, they weren’t surprised.  But, when that woman later went missing and they heard whispers of secrets hidden from them and the public, they were deeply shocked and needed answers.  This is the story of Marie Carlson’s disappearance and murder, and the lasting impressions he made on her family and friends.

  • In May of 2001, Jennifer Stahl and four friends were in her apartment in New York City when another man was buzzed in.  They didn’t know that he had another man with him, and the two were planning on robbing everyone there along with money that Jennifer was supposed to have.  Each man would later claim that the other was responsible, but at the end, all 5 of the others had been shot and left for dead.  Investigators worked with the little evidence they had, and were able to identify their two suspects.  While one would turn himself in, the other would be arrested across the country with the help of America’s Most Wanted.

  • On Halloween weekend in 2010, the Liske family enjoyed hunting and a neighborhood get-together before the Trick-Or-Treat festivities were to begin.  But when 16-year-old, Devon, realized that something was wrong after returning home from his church choir concert, he went to his parents’ bedroom to see if they were there.  He walked in and thought they were pulling an elaborate Halloween prank on him when he saw them lying in bed with blood on their sheets.  However, he quickly learned that it wasn’t a prank and someone had killed his parents.  Unfortunately, his parents weren’t the only family members murdered in their home.  His older brother, Derek, was later found dead in his bedroom as well.

  • In the early morning hours of July 8th, 2013, 17-year-old Molly Miller and 22-year-old Colt Haynes seemingly disappeared into thin air. The two were involved in a high-speed police chase that ended with the county sheriff telling the officers to stop the chase. The driver of the vehicle fled, leaving Molly and Colt int the backwoods of Oklahoma in the middle of the night. In an area flooded with drug production, sales, and use, many locals are believed to know exactly what happened to Molly and Colt, but no one is talking. Furthermore, some people believe that Molly was never meant to be in that car that night in the first place. More than ten years after that car chase that ended in rural Love County, Oklahoma, Colt and Molly’s friends and loved ones are still searching.

  • In February of 2023, 41 year old Becky Bliefnick hadn’t been heard from when it was time for her to pick up her children from school.   Her ex-husband, Tim, was notified about the boys not being picked up, and he called Becky’s father, Bill, to check on her because he had sent text messages that went unanswered.  Bill arrived at Becky’s house and tragically found her in a second floor bathroom, having been shot 14 times.  It only took about two weeks for investigators to find their suspect and make an arrest.  Within three months, a guilty verdict would put him behind bars for the remainder of his life.

  • Charles Joseph Whitman, known infamously as the "Texas Tower Sniper," shocked the world on August 1, 1966, when he climbed to the top of the University of Texas Tower in Austin and opened fire on the public below. By the time his rampage was stopped, 16 people were dead and 31 others wounded. While his final act of violence and its aftermath are well-documented, the early life of Charles Whitman offers critical insights into the forces that shaped him into the man he became. Was there something in Whitman's background, his upbringing, and the pressures he faced that can provide context for his tragic descent into madness?

  • January 16th, 2009 was just like any other day for Linda Bonner.  She got up, went to work, and likely thought anything more about it.  Her husband, Franklin Bonner, was home, though, as he was retired from his job with the City of Chattanooga.  When Linda returned home from work that evening, she walked into something from a nightmare.  Her home was ransacked and Franklin was lying on the ground bound with duct tape and he was unresponsive.  It took nine years for any arrests to be made in the case and when the Bonner family finally thought they had justice, the conviction was reversed and the case remains open.

She’d been getting increasingly sick and by the time she arrived at the hospital, doctors found her to be in organ failure, nearing death. No one could figure out what was causing her sudden illness. Not only was Sarah in the ICU, Mark, her father, and Shaun, her older brother, had all died suddenly in a short period. What detectives found was beyond anything they ever could’ve imagined..

  • In April of 2016, UT Austin freshman Haruka Weiser left an evening dance practice to head back to her dorm. She called her roommate to let her know she was on the way, but she never made it. When she failed to show up the next morning and missed her early classes, a missing person’s report was filed, and authorities began the search for Haruka along the paths she was known to take between classes. The next day, her body was found on campus, and with help from surveillance footage, a suspect emerged and was arrested within days. Haruka’s death led to increased security on campus and left a lasting impact on the UT Austin Community.
