This episode of Letâs Try This Again is one of the most powerful and personal conversations Iâve ever had. Iâm your host, B Simone, and today I sit down with Kevinâa filmmaker, producer, author, and mental health advocate whose story is nothing short of a miracle. We talk about the realities of suicide, mental health struggles, and the unseen emotional weight so many of us carry.
Kevin opens up about living with bipolar disorder and the darkness heâs battledâincluding the day he attempted to end his life by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge at just 19 years old. Out of thousands who have jumped, only 40 have survived in 90 years, and Kevin is one of them1. Hearing him talk about the days leading up to that moment, the pain he felt, and the silence he kept out of fear of judgment is both heartbreaking and incredibly relatable. He shares how he used to hide his hallucinations, panic attacks, and deep sadness, and how the loss of his beloved teacher to suicide made him believe it was an option for himself.
But this episode isnât just about the darknessâitâs about hope, resilience, and practical steps to keep going. Kevin shares the two life-saving actions he takes whenever suicidal thoughts return: looking in the mirror and reminding himself, âMy thoughts donât have to become my actions,â and reaching out to say, âI need help now.â These simple but powerful tools have helped him stay alive for 24 years since his attempt, and he urges anyone struggling to use them too.
We also talk about the importance of community, love, and small daily actions that can shift your mindsetâlike meditation, exercise, and even something as simple as a hug. Kevinâs story is a testament to the fact that you are not alone, your life has purpose, and there is always a way forward, even when it feels impossible.
If you or someone you love is struggling, please listen with care and know that there are people and resources ready to support you. This episode is raw, real, and full of hope. I promise, youâll walk away feeling seen, motivated, and reminded that your story isnât over. Letâs keep tryingâtogether.

Welcome to the Letâs Try This Again podcast! Iâm your host, B Simone, and in this episode, weâre diving deep into a topic that has transformed my life: Isolation vs. Solitude. This conversation is personal, relatable, and packed with lessons that will help you reflect on your own journey and move forward with intention.
I share my experience of navigating a season of solitudeâa time of intentional alone moments that have brought incredible growth, clarity, and healing. Solitude has taught me to embrace independence, prioritize self-love, and let go of relationships that no longer serve me. I compare this to isolation, which can feel dark, fear-based, and stagnantâa space Iâve seen others struggle in.
For example, I talk about a loved one whoâs in isolationâavoiding community out of fearâand contrast that with my solitude journey where Iâve learned to meal prep, set boundaries, and find joy in being alone without depending on external validation. Solitude has been a gift for me, allowing me to shed old habits and step into a healthier mindset.
This episode is about asking yourself: What season am I in? Whether youâre feeling lonely or disconnected, understanding the difference between isolation and solitude can be the key to unlocking growth and purpose. I break down the definitions and share practical ways to shift your mindset from victim to victorâbecause solitude can be empowering when embraced intentionally.
Tune in for an inspiring conversation filled with vulnerability, laughter, and actionable steps to help you heal and evolve. Letâs keep growing togetherâbecause every season has its purpose!

Welcome to the Let's Try This Again podcast! Iâm your host, B Simone, and this episode is extra special because weâre celebrating one year of podcastingâyes, a whole year of pressing forward, overcoming fear, and giving God our yes.
In this episode, I share my personal journey of starting this podcast, how it came to life during a season of uncertainty, and the lessons I learned about faith, fear, and obedience. Let me take you back to the moment when God dropped the name "Let's Try This Again" into my spirit during a fastâa time when I felt broken and unsure about my next steps. Eight months after walking away from my previous podcast, I was hesitant to start over. But through faith and seeking Godâs guidance, I found clarity and courage to take that leap.
I talk about how fear can paralyze usâwhether itâs starting a new business, giving love another chance after heartbreak, or pursuing a dream that feels impossible. For me, fear was real when I thought about podcasting again after a traumatic experience with my first show. But choosing faith over fear opened doors not just for me but for others who needed encouragement and healing through these conversations.
This episode is all about starting, even when you donât have all the answers. Whether itâs picking up an old hobby like singing or painting, or taking steps toward your purposeâeven if itâs as small as writing down ideasâyour yes isnât just for you. Itâs connected to someone elseâs breakthrough, healing, or freedom.
I hope this episode motivates you to seek the next step in your journey. Remember Jeremiah 29:13: Seek Him with all your heart, and you will find Him. Donât let fear hold you back from what God has called you to do. Your yes can create waves of healing and freedom for othersâitâs bigger than you think!
Tune in now for a raw and relatable conversation filled with laughter, vulnerability, and practical steps to move forward in faith. Letâs celebrate together and keep tryingâbecause the movement begins with us!

Hey, yâall! Itâs your girl B. Simone, and welcome back to Letâs Try This Again! This week, Iâm joined by someone super specialâmy brother and partner-in-crime from my 2024 stand-up tour, Brandon Lewis, aka B-Lew. Together, we dive into a raw and heartfelt conversation about growth, grief, and the power of isolation in self-discovery.
We talk about everythingâfrom how we first met back in 2016 (remember that cringy boxing video shoot?) to how we reconnected almost a decade later during one of the most transformative years of our lives. Brandon opens up about losing his mom to cancer and how that heartbreaking experience became the catalyst for his season of transition. He shares how heâs learning to set boundaries, embrace self-worth, and step into a new version of himself.
On the flip side, I reflect on my own season of acceleration. From shedding dead weight to staying laser-focused on my vision, Iâve learned that not everyone is meant to come along for the rideâand thatâs okay. We also talk about how isolation isnât just lonelyâitâs necessary. It breaks you down so you can rebuild stronger than ever.
This episode is full of laughs (Brandon roasting me is a given), tears (heâs been practicing his â10k viewsâ cry!), and real-life gems about faith, resilience, and trusting Godâs timing. Whether youâre navigating loss, chasing your dreams, or just trying to figure out your next step, this episode will leave you feeling seen and inspired.
Tune in now for some laughs, some lessons, and a whole lotta love. And donât forgetâevery Monday we drop audio on all platforms, and every Tuesday you can catch the visuals on YouTube. Letâs grow together!

Hey you guys! It's your girl, B Simone, and welcome back to another episode of the 'Let's Try This Again' podcast! In this episode, we are diving deep into something that hit me like never before â an identity crisis. Now, if you know me, you know I have always loved my skin, my curls, my melanin, my juicy lips, and everything about being a Black woman. But recently, I found myself questioning it all, and I need to share this journey with you.
It all started with a conversation my girl Connor had on a date with an NBA player who casually said he prefers dating white women because they are "easier to deal with." But he added, "You don't count because you look mixed." That one comment shook me to my core. I mean, here I was, 34 years old, never once doubting my beauty or my worth, and suddenly I found myself asking, "Am I too Black? Too urban? Are my braids too ghetto?" Y'all, these thoughts had NEVER been in my head before.
As I got ready for my trip to Brazil, I kept overthinking everything. Am I dressing too Black? Will I fit in with these high-value men? It felt crazy because I had always walked confidently in who I am. But at that party in Brazil, surrounded by women who looked racially ambiguous, I felt it. The doubt. The questioning. And let me be clear â I wasnât disrespected. Everyone was kind and welcoming. But perception is powerful, and for the first time, I felt like I didnât fit in.
But here's what I learned: My authenticity is my power. I didn't let those thoughts change who I was. I showed up as my loud, vibrant, braided, Black self because that is enough. And I want every Black woman listening to know that YOU are enough. Whether you're rocking colorful nails, big hair, or rocking your natural curls â show up as YOU.
This episode is a reminder to confront those sneaky little thoughts that make us question our worth. Catch them before they turn into actions. Cast them down because we are more than society's beauty standards.
Tune in now to Episode 51 of 'Let's Try This Again' and let's talk about it. New audio episodes drop every Monday, and visuals are up every Tuesday on YouTube. Follow us on Instagram @letstrythisagain for updates and exclusive behind-the-scenes content. Love y'all so much!
Stay authentic. Stay resilient. And remember, you are enough.

Whatâs up, you guys! Itâs your girl B. Simone, and today weâre talking about something thatâs been heavy on my heartâanswering the call, stepping into obedience, and MOVING when God tells you to.
A few months ago, God placed it on my spirit to serve, and I had no idea what that meant. But when I visited my fatherâs church in Columbus, Ohio, it all made sense. This episode is all about how I stepped into my purpose, led a powerful womenâs event, and witnessed healing in ways I couldnât have imagined.
Yâall, this weekend was a testament to faith, obedience, and the power of community. From creating a safe space for women to be vulnerable to witnessing my fatherâs prayers come full circle, this was nothing short of life-changing. And baby, my daddyâs sermon? WHEW! He preached on âStaying Put When You Should Have Movedâ, and let me tell youâit was a WORD! If youâve been stuck, scared to move, or hesitant to step into what God is calling you to do, THIS is your sign.
What do you need to fight for?
What do you need to flee from?
What do you need to repent for?
Donât stay stuck when God is telling you to MOVE! This episode will bless you, I promise. Press play, take notes, and letâs grow together.

Whatâs up, you guys! Itâs your girl B. Simone, and this episode is nothing short of wild! My bestie Candice is back, but this time she brought her husband, Omar, and whewâyâall, we get real.
We talk love, marriage, and what it takes to build a solid foundation, but letâs be clearâthis ainât no fairy tale. Their wedding day? A complete disaster. Weâre talking family emergencies, throwing up on the boat, a hurricane in L.A. (yes, really), and running out of gas on the freeway. I couldnât make this up if I tried!
But through it all, Candice and Omar kept God at the center, and their story is proof that true love isnât about perfectionâitâs about partnership. Omar shares how he had to lay down his ego to grow into the man he is today, and Candice opens up about learning to balance independence with being a wife.
We also get into purpose over performance, social media pressure, and Omarâs inspiring transition from pro athlete to herbalist. Heâs now building a holistic health brand, The Cultureâs Herb, helping people heal naturally.
If youâre navigating relationships, faith, self-growth, or just need a good laugh, press play NOW. This one is for you.

Whatâs up, you guys! Itâs your girl, B. Simone, and this episode of Letâs Try This Again is one for the books. If youâve ever struggled with self-worth, discipline, or letting go of toxic patterns, this conversation is for YOU. I had the absolute honor of sitting down with the phenomenal Dr. Thema Bryant, a trauma psychologist and survivor who is out here changing lives.
We got REAL about everythingâhow vulnerability is a superpower, why self-forgiveness is just as important as forgiving others, and the hard truth about healing from past wounds. Dr. Bryant dropped so many gems, from understanding why we perform for acceptance to why we should stop shrinking ourselves to make others comfortable. And whewâwhen she called me out on my own self-neglect and emotional eating? Letâs just say I had a breakthrough right there on the mic!
This episode is all about choosing growth, breaking cycles, and stepping into the love and peace we all deserve. So if youâve been feeling stuck, lost, or just in need of a little motivation, trust me, you donât want to miss this one.

Iâm sitting down with my bestie of over a decade, the unstoppable Candice, as we get real about motherhood, marriage, and her journey with PCOS. If youâve ever felt like life flipped you upside down, trust meâyouâre not alone!
Candice keeps it 100 about navigating postpartum, juggling being a new wife, and not losing herself in the process. We talk about the mental, emotional, and physical shifts that come with stepping into these new roles and how sheâs making it work (spoiler: it ainât easy, but itâs worth it).
She also gets deep into her battle with PCOS, the weight struggles, and the frustration of trying everything before finally finding what worked. From a year-long detox to a transformative trip to Honduras, Candice shares the real tea on healing holistically, the importance of community, and why she refuses to let PCOS define her.

Hey, yâall! Itâs your girl, B. Simone, and this episode of Letâs Try This Again is all about setting goals, staying obedient, and pushing throughâeven when itâs tough.
Iâm coming to you from Dear Media Studios, and let me tell you, this is a full-circle moment. Two years ago, I walked away from a major deal here, trusting God even when it didnât make sense. And now? Iâm sitting in this very studio, signed, sealed, and stepping into my purpose.
Weâre talking about goals and manifestationâhow I wrote down three major goals for 2025, and theyâre already unfolding before my eyes. From landing a big contract, to traveling the world every month, to committing to a fasted lifestyle, Iâm sharing the highs, the struggles, and the lessons along the way.
I also get real about obedience and disciplineâbecause staying true to your path means walking away from comfort, from relationships that no longer serve you, and from opportunities that arenât aligned with your spirit. And letâs be honest, sometimes that means sitting in a dry season (like my phoneâwhew, Sahara Desert vibes!). But when you trust the process, the blessings come back full circle.
Oh, and if youâve ever had to do your makeup in an $200 Uber ride while rushing to be on time, trust me, youâll relate to this one!
So, grab your journal, write down those goals, and letâs hold each other accountable. Whatâs one thing youâre committing to in 2025? Drop it in the comments, and letâs make it happenâtogether.
Follow @LetsTryThisAgain on Instagram, join the community, and stay tuned for the LTTA appâitâs coming soon!

Hey yâall, itâs B Simone, and this week, Iâm opening up about something I struggled with consistently last yearâcomparison. Whether it was scrolling on social media or feeling like I wasnât where I âshouldâ be in life, it had me stuck in my head and doubting myself. But this year? Thatâs not my story anymore.
In this episode, I share what it was like to admit I was caught up in the comparison game, how therapy gave me tools to work through it, and what finally helped me stop caring about likes, views, and outside opinions. We talk about those moments when you feel jealous or not good enough and how to flip those feelings into something that motivates you instead of dragging you down.
I also shout out my friends and communityâthe ones who remind me who I am when I forget. And for real, if youâre in a season where youâre feeling stuck, Iâve got tips to help you refocus on your goals and start building a life that actually makes you happy.
So if youâve been feeling the weight of comparison lately, trust meâyouâre not alone, and you donât have to stay in that space. Letâs talk about how to shift your focus and get back to loving your life, one small step at a time.
Hit play and letâs figure this out together. See you in the episode!

"I am a Lion and a Lamb" - Jason Wilson
In this episode, I sat down with author, mentor, and the transformative leader behind The Cave of Adullam, Jason Wilson. We dive deep into what it means to break free from emotional incarceration, redefine manhood, and embrace both the lion and the lamb within us. Jason shares his powerful journey from a wounded boy in Detroit to becoming a man who leads with transparency, resilience, and love.
We talk about the 10 characteristics of a comprehensive man, why being "just a provider and protector" isnât enough, and how healing the past unlocks freedom in the present. At one point, Jason reveals how his personal struggles with family trauma helped him nurture his mother during her battle with dementia, teaching him the true meaning of sacrifice and love. His insights into creating safe spacesâfor men and women alikeâare nothing short of life-changing.
This conversation left me feeling vulnerable, inspired, and deeply seen. I hope it does the same for you. Tune in for a raw, transformative discussion that reminds us all to embrace our evolving selves and keep trying until weâre not just trying anymoreâweâre thriving.

This week Iâm joined by our first guest of 2025: entrepreneur, financial educator, and my friend Wallstreet Trapper.
He shared his powerful story of transformation fromâgrowing up in New Orleans, navigating the streets, serving time in prison, and ultimately building a life centered on purpose and impact. Trapper opened up about his emotional journey, including how therapy has helped him recalibrate his feelings, address his struggles with empathy, and work towards forgiveness. We spoke about redefining relationships and what it means to truly show up for the people in our lives.
Trapperâs passion for financial freedom is just as inspiring as his personal growth. He broke down how heâs teaching people to overcome financial trauma, invest with confidence, and create generational wealth. From setting up custodial accounts for kids to using the stock market as a tool for liberation, his insights are practical and life-changing. He also revealed how he used a $1.2 million trade to fund his new Freedom Center, which will be a space for education, community, and empowerment.
If youâre ready to embrace growthâwhether emotionally, spiritually, or financiallyâthis conversation is for you. Donât miss it!

Mathew 23:11 âThe greatest among you will be your servant.â
Serving isnât just about helping othersâitâs a powerful act that connects you to something bigger than yourself. It shifts your focus, helps you grow emotionally and spiritually, and uncovers hidden gifts and talents you didnât even know you had.
I share why service is so important and how itâs showing up in my life this year. From creating womenâs support groups at my dadâs church in Columbus to smaller, everyday acts like sharing resources or affirming my friends, Iâve learned that service can take many forms. Itâs not just community service or grand gesturesâitâs showing up where youâre needed and giving what you have without expecting anything in return.
Weâll explore how serving can be a tool for healing, connection, and gratitude. Whether youâre unsure of your purpose or just want to make an impact, this episode will inspire you to see service in a whole new way.
As Will Smith once said, âDesires involve self, purpose involves othersâ How will you serve in 2025? Letâs start the conversation.

âWrite down the vision and make it plainâ- Habakkuk 2:2
This episode is all about the power of writing things down. I found my journal from 10 years ago, right before I moved to Atlanta, and it brought back so many memories. I was working three jobs, sleeping on the floor to afford studio time, and trusting that everything would work out. I wrote about wanting to be financially stable, moving to Atlanta, and even my bold plan to save $1 million before I turned 30.
Every goal, every prayer, every dream I wrote in that journal has come to life in some way, even if it looked different from what I expected. Iâm sharing those entries and how theyâve reminded me to believe without doubt, even when things feel uncertain. If youâve been questioning your next step or need encouragement to keep going, this episode will remind you that faith and action can take you far.

Hey LTTA family,
This week I'm joined by my two bestie sisters aka my little elves - Jordyn and DR.Pretty Vee (Donât forget the DOCTOR!).
Weâre reflecting on our Thanksgiving, playing âwe listen and we donât judgeâ, and manifesting the perfect Christmas day. From funny confessions to navigating gift-giving and setting bold goals for 2025, this episode was so fun to record and is a mix of laughs and inspiration to help you enjoy the season and step confidently into the new year.

They say slow and steady wins the race, but honestly, I just want to get to the finish line. Still, Iâm learning that the foundation you build today determines the success you sustain tomorrow. So, letâs talk about the grind, the setbacks, and why I refuse to give upâeven when it feels like nothingâs moving fast enough.
Welcome back to Letâs Try This Again! Iâm your host, B. Simone, and today, weâre talking about the real work that goes into building something lasting. From the rollercoaster of launching the LTTA appâyes, itâs been a journeyâto the challenges of rebranding B. Simone Beauty..
So if youâve ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of big dreams, or if youâre struggling to stay motivated, this oneâs for you. So grab your coffee (or wine, no judgment) and letâs dive in.
