On this episode, Lauren is joined by wonderful English singer-songwriters, Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin, to discuss their new album with Mt. Desolation; ‘Through Crooked Aim’.
Mt. Desolation was formed in 2010 by Tim and Jesse, band mates of the hugely successful English band Keane. The idea, as with the start of most bands, was simple – get some friends together and make some music. It turned out both already had a couple of country sounding songs hidden away in the vaults. So, in 2010, they released their self-titled debut album, followed by their 2nd album ‘When The Night Calls’ in 2018.
Five years later, in April this year, Tim and Jesse are back with their 3rd album; ‘Through Crooked Aim’. Filmic. Atmospheric. Classic, Americana and Folk influences peppered throughout, it’s a journey that rolls through valleys, painting its own rich, vivid pictures inhabited by troubled, nuanced characters looking for ways to keep going.
Recorded at Jesse’s studio, Old Jet in Suffolk, an old US Airforce base turned creative arts community, added its own majesty to proceedings.
Together Tim, Jesse and Lauren discuss the many inspirations behind the making of the record and the wonderful musicians involved in creating it!...
