Two steps forward, one step back and all that.
Join me for a chatty episode discussing how I've been feeling lately, mainly the frustrations around job hunting! Might be a relatable one if you are also in the same boat or just generally are feeling like not much progress is being made towards your goals despite your best efforts. I promise growth is happening even if it feels invisible!!
Let me know your thoughts on the ep & I hope you have a wonderful week xox

Are you giving yourself enough opportunities to succeed?
This week weâre chatting all things people pleasing and prioritising - all of those lovely ways we get in our own way and self-sabotage from doing the things that are really important to us.
What is it that youâre working on at the moment that youâre not giving enough time to?
What are you deprioritising at the first opportunity?
How can you give yourself more chances to succeed?
Hope you enjoy the ep and Iâll be back for another next Monday! xx
P.S. sorry this upload is late - I'm on holiday with very very slow wifi strength which means it's been uploading all day!!
-
But what does that actually mean? How do we trust the process? Do I follow a plan? Do I wait for things to happen to me?
Let's chat fearlessness and trusting the bigger picture. Spring is the time to put into place all those things we've dreamed about, to take action on our goals. What do you most want to do, see, or be in the next few months?
And how can trusting the process help?

"Does the garden deserve to grow? No, it's designed to grow."
Let's kick off the spring season with a chat about how the idea of needing to deserve growth is crazy! It's not selfish to work on things that feel meaningful to you, in fact usually the opposite is true because you never know who you're going to inspire through the ripple effect of your actions.
Spring is the perfect time of year to make changes in your life and start to take action!! What changes do you want to see in this next season?
Enjoy the episode and welcome to the spring season!

How often do you think "I should be better at this," or "I shouldn't feel this way?"
This week we're addressing those pesky "shoulds" that get in the way of us knowing what we really want and how we genuinely feel. Listening to our gut feelings is praised, but it's actually kinda hard when we've internalised all these societal expectations and pressures!
With 3 strategies to undo these faulty thinking patterns known as cognitive distortions we might be better equipped to tune in to our gut feelings and go after what we want.
Hope you enjoy!! Head over to @lucytalks_ on Instagram if you wanna get in touch - or email me [email protected] to chat or for enquiries!

So excited to bring you this week's episode!! It's our first guest episode of the winter season - Lucy Talks with Zara Beth!
Zara is such an inspiration - and a woman of many talents! From her 400k+ subscribers on YouTube, to her online art business and soon-to-be-published book, Zara's various outlets for her advocacy work and creativity are all amazing. But it's her resilience, creativity and kindness that I find even more amazing and hope you soak up in this episode.
Zara has several neurological disabilities including Tourette's Syndrome, FND and autism which impact her life in different ways. I hope that this episode sheds some light on the reality of living with disabilities and in particular, can help to rewrite the stereotype of autistic people.
Being able to recognise and ask for your individual needs to be met is so important - we chat about accepting your capabilities, the freedom that can come from diagnoses and how to put systems in place to support yourself.
Thank you so so much for coming on the podcast Zara!!

(We were on a break!!)
So about a year ago now I deleted Instagram and not gunna lie, it's made a massive difference to my life! I feel like I've changed my perspectives a lot in that time and have seen the value in questioning my actions.
In this episode we're diving into why I decided to stop posting, scrolling and giving my energy to social media as well as discussing how intentionality about your relationships with things & people in your life can make you feel happier and more fulfilled.
From identity to doom scrolling and from digital passifiers to living for others' approval, let's chat about my motivations for deleting instagram and taking control of my free time.
Would love to hear your thoughts!! Ironic I know but it's @lucytalks_ on instagram if you wanna get in touch - or email me [email protected] to chat or for enquiries!

I really do believe that your happiness matters. For yourself, for people around you and also, for enacting solutions to huge social justice issues like climate change. I'm pretty passionate about this one and can't wait for you all to hear this episode.
Along with a new seasonal structure for the podcast I wanted to bring in a clearer theme - this episode is a mission statement of sorts. Your happiness matters. I think the climate movement (and all social change) needs empowered, solutions-focused, fulfilled changemakers. And we won't find them through negative self talk and under-confidence. Let's prioritise our dreams and our happiness and see what can happen.

I have a theory that we're letting our brains self sabotage our potential before we've even begun. How often do you have a great idea, only for your brain to shut it down and come up with excuses (or really good reasons why we should start next year... and definitely not today).
In episode 2 of our winter season, we're talking about dreaming bigger. Letting go of the 'how' and imagining the 'what'. Let's see what we can imagine for ourselves without any restrictions.

Lucy Talks is back!! I'm so excited to have you listening - welcome if you're new and hi again if you're back for more weekly eps! đ±đđđđœ
I'm very much in a new chapter since graduating from uni and coming back to the UK from my travels - so naturally I've been thinking about the changes I want to make happen in my life, and for the podcast. I want to create something that feels really intentional, thought out and purposeful - with less scrambling around for ideas to put up an episode each week! I'm really happy with the ideas I've come up with and can't wait to start sharing them with you now.
In this episode, I chat you through my new idea for restructuring the podcast, my fears around making a change in my life and my thoughts on living in tune with the natural ebbs and flows of life. I'm super excited about it all and would love to hear your thoughts.
Email me via [email protected] or message me on Instagram @lucytalks_ đ to get in touch, would love to chat with you!!

You know the drill: it's time for life updates and existential musings on the duality of life.
It's finally here!! Leaving for Thailand tomorrow and so excited about it!! Head over to the youtubes for vlogs and videos about my experiences, would love it if you stuck around:)
In this episode we're chatting about recent changes and events in my life, mindsets I want to adopt while travelling and thoughts on how life is always ups and downs.
A huge thank you to everyone who's listened to a whole year of Lucy Talks!!! Can't believe it's been a year of this new format (and two more of podcasting), I'm so grateful for it and to you for listening! I hope you stick around for its return or for future spontaneous episodes.

All the feels in this episode! I sit down for a chat with my bestie Aidan on our final day of student life living in Nottingham about our uni experiences and imminent travel plans!
Aidan studied Hispanic Studies and undertook a year abroad in Spain teaching English - we've known each other since our very first day of uni but have become so much closer this year. Aidan shares his thoughts and advice and we chit chat about our expectations and excitement for our upcoming backpacking trip in South East Asia and Australia.
Huge thanks to you Aidan for coming on and bearing with my emotional scatter brain on the last day of uni!!
It's crazy how quickly this feels distant - and it's only been 4 weeks.
Thank you for listening and sticking around, it means a lot xxxx

"Knowledge gives me confidence, so I always want to be learning."
In this episode of Lucy Talks I'm chatting with Morag Punton, pharmacist, owner of her own consultancy and Trustee for the Hygiene Bank. We crossed paths at a sustainability careers event that I attended back in March and I was so impressed by her experiences and sense of self-awareness.
If you're someone who loves the idea of a varied yet structured career tailored to your interests and skillsets then you'll love Morag's 'Five Pillar Portfolio Career' framework.
Get stuck in to all the nuggets of wisdom in this conversation and let me know what you think! Thank you so much for your time Morag!

Is creativity what makes us human?
With the rapid rise of AI, a sharp decline in creative subjects being studied in UK schools and a growing imbalance in our wellbeing there comes a real need for a resurgence in creativity and innovation. In this episode, I have a proper deep dive into various areas where creativity is being pushed aside and the consequences this is having on our wellbeing, society and planet.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this one! A slightly different more in-depth style episode so I'd love to know what you think.
Let's all get more creative!!!
