Erablue Electronics is a joint venture established in late 2022 between Mobile World Group and Erajaya Group, Indonesia's largest mobile device retailer. Despite its recent inception, Erablue has rapidly grown into the largest modern electronics retail chain in Indonesia.
As of July 2024, Erablue boasts 65 stores in the Greater Jakarta area, with 37 "mini" stores (280-320 sqm) and 28 "supermini" stores (180-220 sqm).
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tai, Chairman of Mobile World Group, highlighted the impressive performance: "Remarkably, EraBlue stores are generating almost double the revenue compared to a DMX store of the same size in Vietnam. Specifically, the 'M' size stores are achieving 4 billion VND (approx. 170,000 USD) in monthly revenue, while the 'S' size stores are reaching 2.2 billion VND (approx. 93,000 USD).
He attributed this success to the Erablue team effectively leveraging the experience and knowledge gained from operating DMX in Vietnam and even earlier ventures in Cambodia. This includes expertise in site selection, lease negotiation, store construction, layout optimization, IT systems, after-sales service, and customer service culture.
Mobile World Group aims to expand the Erablue network to 85-100 stores by the end of 2024, targeting revenue of approximately 85 million USD. Their ambitious long-term goal is to have 500 Erablue stores by 2027, requiring an average of at least 10 new store openings per month from 2025 to 2027.
At the same time, Mr. Doan Van Hieu Em, member of the Board of Directors of Mobile World Group and CEO of Erablue, revealed that the company aims to list on the Indonesian stock market by 2027. Regarding business prospects, Mr. Em expressed confidence in Erablue's rapid and efficient expansion in the near future.
He pointed out that the electronics and home appliance retail market in Indonesia remains fragmented. The largest chain possesses only around 60 stores despite the huge demand. Customers primarily travel by motorbike, and existing modern retail chains typically operate within shopping malls.
In contrast, Erablue strategically positions its stores on busy streets, enhancing visibility and accessibility for customers. Furthermore, EraBlue's same-day delivery and installation service, completed within approximately 4 hours, provides a significant advantage over the 7-10 day waiting period common with traditional retailers.

Apple recently released iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, the new operating system updates for iPhone and iPad. Like all of Apple's software updates, iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 are now available for download. In this episode, let's dive deeper in this new feature.
You can download the new Apple update on compatible iPhones and iPads by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Note that it may take a few minutes for the updates to be widely distributed due to high demand.
iOS 18 Update is Now Available for Download
The iOS 18 version is available on iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone SE 2, and newer models like the iPhone 16. For iPad, iPadOS 18 supports iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd generation and later, all iPad Pro 11-inch models, iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 7th generation and later, and iPad mini 5th generation and later. Apple has also released the iOS 17.7 update for those still using iOS 17.
The iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 versions bring many new customization capabilities, along with various other changes. Here is a list of the new features in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18:
Lock Screen Customization
iOS 18 adds new customization options for the Home Screen, with the ability to arrange apps and widgets in open spaces and add new color palettes for app icons. The Control Center has been completely redesigned, with support for multiple pages, third-party controls, and options to control them from the Lock Screen and activate them with the Action Button.
iMessages Updates
The iMessages app now supports scheduled messaging and expanded Tapback functionality with all emoji reactions. There are new text effects that you can add to words and phrases, as well as formatting options like bold and italic. You can also activate RCS when offline and message across Android users.

New Passwords App
Apple has added a brand new Passwords app to manage logins, and calls can now be recorded in the Notes app with the new call recording feature. Notes can also transcribe the audio recordings.

Comparing the Design of iPhone 16 and iPhone 12
Looking at the overall design, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 12 have a few notable differences. The iPhone 16 has dimensions of 147.6 x 71.6 x 7.8 mm, slightly more compact than the iPhone 12 (146.7 x 71.5 x 7.4 mm). However, despite being smaller, the iPhone 16 (170 grams) is heavier than the iPhone 12 (162 grams).
Both are protected by Ceramic Shield glass, but the iPhone 16 uses the latest version, which is more durable. As for the frame, the iPhone 16 also uses premium aluminum, while the iPhone 12 uses aluminum.
The iPhone 16 is equipped with an Action Button and upgraded Camera Control, features not found on the iPhone 12. The front of the iPhone 16 has a Dynamic Island, while the iPhone 12 still has the "notch". The iPhone 16 uses a USB Type-C port with USB 3 standard, while the iPhone 12 uses a Lightning port.
Comparing the Displays of iPhone 16 and iPhone 12
The iPhone 16 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, similar in size to the display on the iPhone 12. The resolution of the iPhone 16 is 2,556 x 1,179 pixels, not much different from the 2,532 x 1,170 pixels on the iPhone 12, resulting in a nearly equivalent pixel density of 460 ppi.
Neither device is equipped with ProMotion 120Hz technology or Always-On Display. In terms of brightness, the iPhone 16 excels with a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits and a minimum of 1 nit, while the iPhone 12 only reaches 1,200 nits (minimum brightness not disclosed by Apple).
Comparing the Performance of iPhone 16 and iPhone 12
The iPhone 16 is powered by the Apple A18 chip, manufactured on the latest 3nm process, a significant advancement over the Apple A14 Bionic on the iPhone 12 (5nm). The A18 Pro has a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine, more powerful than the 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine on the A14 Bionic.
The iPhone 16 also has 6GB of RAM, larger than the 4GB of RAM on the iPhone 12, enabling smoother multitasking and better handling of demanding tasks. Both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 12 have a starting storage of 128GB, while the iPhone 12 only had 64GB.
Comparing the Cameras of iPhone 16 and iPhone 12
The iPhone 16 features a dual 48MP camera setup with a primary camera of f/1.6 aperture and a 12MP ultra-wide camera of f/2.4 aperture. The iPhone 12 also has a dual 12MP camera setup with similar specifications. Both have a 12MP selfie camera and Face ID.
However, the iPhone 16 also supports the latest generation of Photographic Styles, can record Slo-mo 1080p@240fps Dolby Vision video, and 4K@60fps Dolby Vision Quick Take video, providing a more professional video experience.
