Have you ever ignored your intuition, only to regret it?
A big part of being able to let your gut feeling guide you during stressful situations is to have a cool head and remain calm. X Games freestyle skiing gold medallist Kelly Sildaru is no stranger to the pressures that come with competitions, and she's learned to not only override her stress response, but also clear her head to allow for a rational approach to dangerous situations.
The Estonian skier can follow her gut feeling and make intuitively sound decisions that are not based on external or internal pressure. Of course, she has experience of what happens when she hasn't done this, so can relate all too well to the importance of letting your intuition dictate your response to fear.
Listen to this UNCUT episode to hear how Kelly does it.

What happens when we have to say goodbye to something that’s been all we’ve ever known? Change can be good, but learning to let go of something familiar – whether that’s a job, a hobby or a way of life – can be difficult to navigate.
As Andrea Petković knows full well, moving on from her life in professional tennis came with significant challenges, including a loss of identity and the need to find a new passion to fill the void.Professional athletes are not the only individuals to face this challenge. It’s something that eventually everyone will encounter, whether this is transitioning from school to work life, starting a different job or stopping work altogether.
In a very honest chat with host Cédric, Andrea talks about how she went through a period of lying to herself before retiring from her professional tennis career in 2022. She also opens up about the grief she had to deal with, and how she learned to take control of the circumstances.

Outside of the more common mental and physical techniques athletes use to win, there is one lesser known tactic that many athletes deploy – consciously and unconsciously – to gain an edge on their opponent.
Using body language to your advantage is not unheard of, but how do you actually use it in competition?
Tennis ace Elena Rybakina uses non-verbal communication on the court to not only control her emotions but also the game. Even if it's not going so well on Elena's side of the court, all the opponent sees is a composed masterpiece of total control. Hosts Cèdric and York explain how using body language also has a positive impact on yourself. By practising simple posture exercises, you can promote and build confident body language that has a subtle yet extensive impact on yourself and your environment.

What would you do if you were stuck at the bottom of a crevasse somewhere high up a mountain, completely alone?
Fernanda Maciel is the type of person to not panic – she knows exactly what to do. As an endurance athlete who specialises in running up and down high mountains, she spends a lot of time with herself. Fernanda has to know how to deal with this, and how to juggle the physical endurance that’s needed from her body to complete even her most daring runs. Meditation not only saved her life while she was stuck inside the crevasse, but is also the outlet through which she controls this mental and physical stress.
Even if you’re not planning on competing in ultra-endurance events anytime soon, meditation should play a fixed role in your daily routine. This does not have to last hours – it can be as short as only a few minutes – but the skills you learn from this will leave you wondering how you ever lived without it.
