I'm back again after another needed break. This episode follows on from the last, 'It's ok not to be ok: Listen when your struggling' and brings you up to date with how I was feeling even days after recording that episode. Hopefully this episode can provide you with some greater life context of how a bad day doesn't mean a bad life and even if it has been a bad day/week/month/year, your mood and circumstances can change when you least expect them to. To get through anything you have to go through it, and I think that actually the beauty of life is experiencing a range of emotions, good and bad. I discuss what helped me whilst going through another low period and what is currently helping me now to maintain some form of mental stability.
As always, I hope you enjoy the episode and go to @mindfulandmore on Instagram to give me feedback and let me know what you want to hear in the future!

This episode was the most raw I have been whilst recording and the most difficult episode for me to release. I talk from a place of pain and just feeling exhausted from holding everything together and picking myself up from low places again and again. I was not sure whether to share this, however from the beginning Mindful and More has been about sharing my honest, transparent experience with my mental health. I hope this episode helps other people who are currently feeling a similar way to me to feel understood. Remember pain is temporary and the best moments of your life are yet to come. To take a step back does not mean you are failing and to feel tired does not make you weak.
As always, I hope you enjoy the episode and go to @mindfulandmore on Instagram to give me feedback and let me know what you want to hear in the future!

Welcome back to another episode of Mindful and More.
In this episode, I focus on therapy and the benefits, struggles, and lessons that I have learnt on my own personal journey as well as lessons other people may learn generally.
'...not every personal trainer would be right for you in the gym, and it's the same with therapy. Just because one therapist doesn't work for you doesn't mean another one won't.'

Welcome back to another episode of Mindful and More.
This episode focuses on how difficult it can be to handle the pressures of work/school/uni life with your mental health/mental illness. I discuss the impact lack of focus, energy, and motivation can have on your self-esteem and what that can look and feel like when you are expected to perform. I also discuss the importance of taking full advantage of any support service/adjustments provided to you and how using these has positively impacted my experience of working and studying whilst suffering with my own mental health and mental illness. There is light at the end of the tunnel and you CAN succeed while being mentally ill.
As always, I hope you enjoy the episode and go to @mindfulandmore on Instagram to give me feedback and let me know what you want to hear in the future!

Welcome back to another episode of Mindful and More.
This episode focuses on the difficulty and importance of self-discipline and self-awareness. Being honest with yourself is not easy, but it is in my eyes one of the most crucial components of healing and growth. It is not easy, but the outcome is beyond worth it. The impact on your mental health, your relationships, and your professional life make it worth it.
As always, I hope you enjoy the episode, and go to @mindfulandmore on Instagram to give me feedback and let me know what you want to hear in the future!

Welcome back to another episode of Mindful and More.
This episode focuses on the importance and the benefits of implementing healthy routines and habits into your life.
At some of my lowest points, trying to start having a basic daily routine really helped pick me up and give me the motivation to make a change for myself. If you start small and build it up, who knows where you will be in a week/month/year.
In this episode, I discuss ideas of how to go about creating a routine for yourself using to-do lists and how this goes hand in hand with habit forming.
As always, I hope you enjoy the episode, and go to @mindfulandmore on Instagram to give me feedback and let me know what you want to hear in the future!

This episode focuses on the importance of looking at the bigger picture in life.
I discuss the importance of 'zooming out' and taking a necessary step back from your current situation. Your circumstances can and will change - hard times do not last. Zoom out and see that there will be growth.
'Feel everything so you can feel free, everything happens as and when it should.'

Welcome back to another episode of Mindful and More. This week's episode focuses on creating and maintaining a positive perspective on life whilst going through more difficult life experiences/periods of time. I don't go into detail about what it is exactly that I am going through but I talk about how it is making me feel and how it is that I am coping, so hopefully whatever it is that you are going through, you will be able to relate to what I'm saying and there might be something that I say that helps you in your journey, even if only a tiny bit.
Perspective is KEY. You WILL be ok. You ARE strong.

For this episode of Mindful and More, my lovely friend Elise joins me to discuss the topic of taking medication to manage mental illness. We cover a variety of areas such as approaching your doctor regarding medication, side effects of taking medication and coming off medication. Throughout the episode, we talk about our own experiences as well as referring to questions and answers to an anonymous questionnaire we released prior to recording the episode.
We hope that you find this episode beneficial in some way, and if you have any feedback, we would love to hear from you on the @mindfulandmore Instagram page. Medication and mental illness has in the past, and arguably presently, been a subject with a negative stigma attached, and we aim to help remove this by talking freely and openly about the realities of what is for many - a daily reality!
Enjoy!

This episode focuses on the topic of sleep. I discuss problems that people may face including; falling asleep, staying asleep, falling back to sleep, and nightmares. Sleep is an ongoing issue for me and I am still facing many of the issues that I discuss in this episode but there are definitely various things that I have found to be genuinely helpful. Hopefully sharing these may help you if you are struggling with similar difficulties. As always let me know what you think by contacting me on the @mindfulandmore Instagram page!

This episode is targeted to help people experiencing the side of depression that makes simple day-to-day things, like getting out of bed, feel near impossible.
I compare the process of getting from a place where you feel as though you can't even get out of bed, to a place where you are able to function 'normally' as a staircase. I talk about the process of getting up this staircase in three stages: stage one where you feel at your lowest and what you can do at this point to just make it up the first steps; stage two where you are able to implement a few simple but essential things into your daily routine; and stage 3 where you are nearing the top of the stairs and you can make daily plans and up your productivity (whatever productive means to you).
I also talk about things that you can avoid the night before in order to improve the ease of waking up on a morning, as well as things that friends/family members of somebody struggling with the discussed issues can do that can prove genuinely helpful.
Everybody's experience with mental illness is unique but I hope that there is something positive that you can take away from this episode. To find out more about Mindful and More, visit the Mindful and More Instagram page: @mindfulandmore

This week's episode is the second part of a two-part special on eating disorders. In this episode, I interview an amazing lady called Ameena. Ameena is not only a mental health nurse on an eating disorder ward, but also a courageous survivor of an eating disorder herself. The insight provided by Ameena is incredibly informative and impactful.
Subtopics covered include 'Ameena's story'; what an eating disorder actually is; symptoms and signs of an eating disorder; behavioral elements; support and signposting; and finally a Q&A based on listener's questions.
As I stated in last week's episode, there is more to eating disorders than meets the eye and I hope that you find this episode beneficial in some way. It is such an important topic and I want to help raise as much awareness for it as possible.
TRIGGER WARNING - if you are currently suffering from an eating disorder, this episode could be triggering to you so it is not advisable to listen.
DISCLAIMER - Although Ameena is a professional, I am not, so if you are suffering it is always advisable to seek professional help from your GP. -
This week's episode is the first part of a two-part special on eating disorders. In this episode, I interview an inspiring survivor of Anorexia Nervosa, Beth. Beth battled with her eating disorder for 10 years and we can all learn from her story, whether or not we have had any type of personal connection to this area of mental illness.
Subtopics covered include symptoms and behaviors Beth experienced; life in general with an eating disorder; triggers and causes; relapse and general recovery; and finally life after an eating disorder.
There is more to eating disorders than meets the eye and I hope that you find this episode beneficial in some way. It is such an important topic that is so highly misunderstood.
TRIGGER WARNING - if you are currently suffering from an eating disorder, this episode could be triggering to you so it is not advisable to listen.
DISCLAIMER - neither of the people talking in this episode are professionals so if you are suffering it is always advisable to seek professional help. -
Welcome back to Mindful and More! I am starting series 2 with a catch-up-style episode to fill you in on where I have been mentally since finishing series 1 at the end of 2020.
I discuss how I have experienced another relapse in my mental health, what the dark place looked like for me this time around, and how I have dealt with that. You learn the most when you go through the worst, so I share in this episode some techniques/practices that I have found to be genuinely extremely helpful to bring myself up from a place of "rock-bottom".
There is ALWAYS light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how dark the places you find yourself in may feel. -
This episode focuses on the topic of self-love: what it is and how you can practice it. The importance of loving yourself is undeniable and the benefits that it can give rise to are limitless. In this episode, I talk about the concept of "positive inputs and outputs", independence, prioritising yourself, and respecting yourself. Thank you for all the love and support for series 1 of Mindful and More - series 2 will be coming soon in 2021! Happy new year.

This episode focuses on mistakes that we make in life in a variety of contexts. I discuss how things going wrong can make us feel, how we should accept it, and how we should learn and move on. Your outlook is important and there is a positive to be taken from every situation.

This episode focuses on the process of seeking help when you are struggling in 5 steps:
1) Recognise there is a problem;
2) Talk to someone;
3) Consider your options;
4) Trial your choice and;
5) Maintenance.
The episode explains that the steps work in a cycle, not a straight line, and I use my own experience of what I am currently going through and where I currently am in the 5 steps to show the reality of struggling with your mental health. It will get better and we are in this together. For more information go to @mindfulandmore on Instagram. -
