Welcome to the Moving On Method®, formerly known as The Moms Moving On Divorce and Co-Parenting Podcast. Navigating divorce as a parent can be tough. Navigating co-parenting as a divorced parent can be tougher. Welcome to the Moving On Method® podcast, a place where the realities of divorce and single parenting meet educated and informed insight, hosted by me, Michelle Dempsey-Multack, educator, co-parenting and divorce specialist, bestselling author, the founder of the Moving On Method®; a method of helping parents give their children a co-parented experience they won't need to recover from.
In this episode, Michelle and co-host Jess Evans will look back to 2022 and take listeners on a journey through the evolution of the Moving On Method®. We look forward to inviting experts in the field to continue to bring knowledge and understanding to anyone going through divorce, single or co-parenting.
Jess is a single mom of two, Michelle’s assistant and lead coach at the Moving On Method®. She has worked alongside Michelle for years and takes a child centered approach to co-parenting. Jess was a SAHM while going through her divorce in 2018 and the thought of spending time away from her kids broke her heart. She quickly learned that it isn’t always about the quantity of time spent with her kids, rather the quality. Her and her children live in Wisconsin and love everything the Midwest has to offer. As a family, they enjoy watching football, playing golf, getting outside and creating fun memories together. When Jess is not with her kids, she is spending time with her new partner, golfing and enjoying time with her girlfriends. As a child of divorce who has no relationship with her father, Jess wanted to ensure her children grew up having a strong relationship with both of their parents.
As a coach, Jess is passionate about empowering her clients and helping them move on emotionally after the divorce is final. She works closely with her clients to help them find new ways to fill their cup as they enter the world of co-parenting. She also enjoys working with clients to create a child-centered parenting plan that is fine tuned to avoid any grey area. If you are looking for support during or after the divorce, Jess would be honored to work with you.

Co-parenting with a high-conflict ex is not easy, but it can be done. We know that one reasonable co-parent can make a positive difference in the lives of the children who are being co-parented by one high-conflict parent, but that doesn't make dealing with it any easier.
High-conflict co-parenting can make life incredibly stressful and full of unnecessary tension, which in-turn, rubs off on the kids.
"The key is realizing we have to take a different approach. The secret to managing a high-conflict personality is managing your own anxiety," Bill Eddy says on this episode of Moms Moving On, and on this third visit to our show, Bill shares the secrets and strategies for how to effectively co-parenting with a high-conflict ex, and shares the "4 forget about its," that you definitely need to hear!
"As early as possible you want to learn how to separate dealing with your ex or ex-to-be from getting your needs met emotionally. Don't keep trying to get it from the person who can't give it to you."
Bill Eddy, LCSW, Esq. is High Conflict Institute's co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer. He pioneered the High Conflict Personality Theory (HCP) and has become an expert on managing disputes involving people with high conflict personalities. He was the Senior Family Mediator at the National Conflict Resolution Center for 15 years, a Certified Family Law Specialist lawyer representing clients in family court for 15 years, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker therapist with twelve years’ experience. He serves on the faculty of the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine University School of Law in California and is a Conjoint Associate Professor with the University of Newcastle Law School in Australia. He has been a keynote speaker and trainer in over 30 U.S. states and 10 countries. In addition to authoring over twenty books, he writes a popular blog on PsychologyToday.com with over five million views.
