The King has returned! Barry Jenkinsâ Lion King prequel - Mufasa: The Lion King - has released in theaters and I had the chance to check it out just recently. The Lion King is my favorite animated film of all-time but beyond further reflection and pondering, the remake was quite a big letdown that lacked much of the soul and creativity of that original animated film. Thatâs why I was very skeptical about Barry Jenkinsâ prequel and I wanted nothing more than to be excited about more movies set in the continuity of The Lion King. Barry Jenkinsâ involvement certainly had my curiosity piqued though. Did the movie win me over, or is this yet another soulless live-action Disney film? Find out in this review!

The world seems slightly better and more hopeful today⊠as the amazing teaser trailer for James Gunnâs Superman has finally landed online. Hey everyone⊠itâs finally time to believe a man can fly again! The first teaser trailer for James Gunnâs upcoming Superman film, set to hit theaters July 11, 2025 and the first film in the rebooted DCU, has now dropped online from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures. Anyone whoâs listened to more than one episode probably knows that Iâve been deliriously excited for James Gunnâs Superman, as Gunn has always and is still making movies that resonate with me emotionally. He does the same for TV as Iâve even been really enjoying the Gunn-written Creature Commandos, the soft launch of the DCU that is ongoing on Max. Superman has also been one of my favorite characters since I was a child so naturally, this was a match made in heaven as far as Iâm concerned. Does the trailer live up to the hype, or does it fall short of expectations and make me cornered for the DCU? Find out in this initial reaction to the trailer!

The Karate Kid franchise finally returns to the big screen after 15 years, with the upcoming release of Karate Kid: Legends, which will see the long-anticipated team up of Ralph Macchioâs Daniel LaRusso and Jackie Chanâs Mr. Han. I, of course, love the original Karate Kid and am a huge Cobra Kai fan (with the exception of this final season so far), but⊠I have had little to no interest in this film. Thatâs because I honestly think Cobra Kai has milked this universe and its characters pretty much to their maximum potential, and I found the decision to include Daniel to be pretty cynical. Hey everyone, it's finally time to return to Middle Earth! The latest attempt at reviving the iconic Tolkien franchise on the big screen, but this time it's anime-inspired. The original trilogy is comprised of movies that are all some of my favorite movies of all-time. Return of the King - in particular - is an easy top 5 favorite movie ever for me. I have been watching these movies as long as I can remember and I honestly think, while not great, The Hobbit movies are somewhat over-hated. That being said, I went into War of the Rohirrim with virtually no interest, due to the bland marketing and being someone who's not fully into anime. I respect WB taking a big swing with this franchise but the style and story did not seem very interesting to me. Does it live up to the best of the franchise or is it going to match the diminishing returns this franchise has had since the trilogy? Find out in this review!

Hey everyone, welcome back to MOVIE Morning for a review of the film Unstoppable, a remarkably inspiring true story Anthony Robles, a man born with one leg and a dream to win one of the biggest wrestling competitions in North America. This film doesn't officially hit Prime Video ('wide release') until mid-January so, because of that, I wasn't entirely sure whether to drop this review now but I thought I'd get ahead of the curve. The film just started its limited release in only a few countries, including the UK so I was able to see it just a little early. Is this a sports movie worth watching? Find out in this review!

The DCU has officially begun! Creature Commandos has now debuted with its first 2 episodes on Max and other platforms across the world. James Gunn is back to deliver us more glorious, unhinged, very adult superhero fare with tons of heart, violence and... monsters. As you all know, I have been so in on what James Gunn is building with his and Peter Safran's upcoming DC Universe, that will be in full flow with Superman, releasing on July 11, 2025. As you all also know, James Gunn very often tells stories that feel very meaningful to me, despite leaning so heavy into the Sci-Fi and insane violence, depending on whether you look at Guardians of the Galaxy or The Suicide Squad/Peacemaker. So, does Creature Commandos continues James Gunn's incredible streak of very entertaining and heartfelt comic book movies and shows, or is it his first major miss? Hey everyone... *sigh*, here we go again. I know I start every Star Wars review with that statement but I'm honestly becoming more and more frustrated by how this franchise has been going on TV and the types of conversations it's stirring up online. That being said, Skeleton Crew was a show I was interested in initially, with the involvement of Jon Watts and a very interesting line-up of directors, for good and for bad. I thought the idea of doing a Goonies-like Star Wars show with Jude Law as a companion seemed kind of cool. That being said, most of the trailers and the recent shows squandered pretty much all that excitement. Every time I start up one of these shows though, I have a glimmer of hope flow through me but did the first 2 episodes snuff out that hope? Let's discuss it, and don't worry, there will be NO SPOILERS in this review.

Hey everyone, Amy Adams' latest film - Nightbitch - releases in theaters next week and I had the pleasure of seeing it as part of the London Film Festival back in October. Hey everyone, Moana and Maui are back with another adventure! The first Moana is one of the most popular and beloved Disney films of the modern generation; it has consistently been one of the most streamed films ever since it came out, especially once Disney+ launched back in 2019. Because of that, it's no surprise that Disney had a sequel on the way but the origins of this film are pretty interesting. It was originally going to be a Disney+ series but because Disney was so confident in how good it was, it was converted to a theatrical film. That news didn't exactly instill me with confidence but I also don't love the first Moana so I wasn't super invested in how the sequel would turn out. Is it one of the good animated films of 2024? Well, let's find out!

Season 2 of Netflix's Arcane, the final season, wrapped up its 3-act release just a couple of days ago. I was a HUGE fan of season 1 but was late in getting around to season 2 because I knew I NEEDED to rewatch season 1. It's been way, way, WAY too long since season 1 and since I definitely had my preferences of which storylines in season 1 I preferred over the others, I wanted to watch this 2-season journey back-to-back as a full story just like Riot intended. This show has garnered lots of hype over the last few weeks and it has now wrapped up. Hey everyone, Jon M. Chu's Wicked - actually titled Wicked: Part I in the movie - has now hit theaters. To let you know right upfront, I'm not necessarily the biggest musical guy and witchcraft fantasy stuff has never been a genre of film & TV that I've ever been interested in. Plus, I have never seen the broadway play so have virtually no connection to the source material. To add fuel to the fire, I also thought the trailers were pretty bad... which is why I was bamboozled when the first reviews came out absolutely praising this movie to high heavens. I have now seen the film. Is it overhyped or legitimately Best Picture worthy? Find out in this review!

Hey everybody... well, well, well. It seems the age of 3D animated live-action remakes has officially begin with the upcoming release of the live-action How to Train Your Dragon, coming from the same director as all 3 films of the animated trilogy. The How to Train Your Dragon trilogy is my favorite animated franchise of all-time (yes, more so than Toy Story). They also mean a lot to me: I have been watching these movies since they came out and fell in love with them yet again when I rewatched the trilogy earlier this year. That being said, to say I've been skeptical at the prospect of a live-action remake would be accurate. I have been very unsure as to what purpose this adaptation would serve. With the official release of this gorgeous teaser trailer, has my opinion changed?

Are you not entertained?! Ridley Scott's long-delayed Gladiator II finally hits cinemas around the globe this weekend, with it primed for a. U.S. release next weekend where it will be competing with Universal Pictures's apparent OSCAR contender Wicked. The buzz for this one has been building and building over the last few months, as we've been hearing from more and more sources that this sequel was 'the real deal' and 'Ridley Scott's best since The Martian'. The first Gladiator is an easy top 50 film of all-time for me so my expectations weren't exactly low going into Gladiator II... at least, that's how they would've been if not for Ridley Scott's films over the last 2 decades being pretty hit and miss. Hey everyone, it's FINALLY time for me to talk about The Penguin. As someone who rode The Batman hype train from the moment shooting started all the way to the film coming out and turning out as a masterpiece, I was unbelievably pumped to see the next chapter of this Epic Crime Saga. Without spoiling my thoughts too much, Lauren LeFranc and Matt Reeves should be enormously proud of this incredible show. Long live the Bat-Verse! Enjoy the review!

The world's greatest action franchise - Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible - returns next year with its 'supposed' final entry. Mission: Impossible - Dead Re... excuse me, Final Reckoning just dropped its first trailer, teasing the final adventure with Ethan Hunt and his IMF crew. I love, LOVE this franchise and I want nothing more than for them to end in on their terms and deliver a truly worthy final chapter. Does the trailer indicate that we're in for another true action epic... or is it starting to feel like this franchise is running on fumes?

Hey everyone, welcome back to another review and today, weâll be discussing the sequel to one of the most consistent franchises in films right now. Paddington and Paddington 2 are both some of the best family movies of the last decade. The thought of doing a third film is definitely terrifying because of how it could affect this franchiseâs track record but also because Paul King wasnât coming back for this third entry, although he still has a story credit. He went off to work in the Chocolate Factory. As Iâm now studying in the UK, I had the chance to see Paddington in Peru. Hey everyone, welcome back to another review! Today, I'll be reviewing the newly-released Amazon Christmas action-comedy: Red One, starring The Rock and Chris Evans. I was initially pretty excited for this one because I loved the pitch and I'm just someone who loves Christmas... but those trailers, woof. Since then, I've been a little cold towards this film and now having seen it, it's pretty much exactly what you'd expect it to be. Hey everyone, another MCU show has now come and gone. Today, I'll be sharing my long-awaited thoughts on Marvel Television's Agatha All Along - a show that, to say the least, I was NOT anticipating. I fell a couple of weeks behind when this show first started, an MCU first for me... which just about shows my interest going into this show. Some people genuinely seemed surprised by how much they really enjoyed the show once it actually got going. Unfortunately, I can't exactly say I'm in that camp.
