Someone who had gone through my FREE course told me that he realized that he has been crafting his ads and website all wrong. While his website said one thing to his customers, they wanted to hear something completely different.

This is a very common Ecommerce mistake that a lot of online sellers make when they create a website and run ads. They just throw everything in there and hope to get conversions. But it's not how it works! To succeed in Ecommerce, you need to understand your target customers! You need to know what their problems are, their needs, and their pains.

Understanding customers and finding a way to help them is really important. If you know their pain points, you can craft your website and your ads that will speak directly to your customers. How? You can do this by finding customers online.

But where can you find customers online and how do you reach out to them? I recommend ONLINE FORUMS. Forums are like online chat rooms where people gather to talk about a certain topic, product, or just anything under the sun.

You can search for forums in your niche and maybe create an account so you can join that forum. Once you're in, you can see what your target customers are crying about and what they are looking for. This is one of the most effective ways to truly understand your customers.

Sure it's exhausting but it's also incredibly enlightening. If you continue using the wrong words and wrong language in your website and ads, you will never get the results that you want. You will never get the attention of the people you are trying to sell your products to.

My FREE Product Page Mastery Course will teach you how to understand your customers and create an incredible product page that converts your customers at over 3% and even up to 10% with the right traffic source. It's 100% FREE! If you want to up your game and scale your store, get the free course here: https://learn.keycommerce.com/product-page-mastery/

There is no black and white approach when pricing your eCommerce products. There are a number of pricing strategies that you can choose from but remember that not all will work for your kind of business. You need to consider a few factors and do your homework to decide which pricing methods will work best for you.

In this episode, I will show you the best way on how to price your products and go through two competitive pricing strategies: cost-plus pricing and value-based pricing.

Product Pricing Strategy #1: Cost Plus Pricing
Also called as Cost-Based Pricing, this eCommerce pricing strategy is where you work out your costs and then just add a percentage on top of that.

So here you work out your total cost for the product, which includes the cost of the product from the supplier and any overheads. For example, you might pay your supplier $20 for your product but then the total costs of all your labor, rent, subscriptions and other expenses equal $10 per product. You then add on what’s called a markup, which could be 50%.

So your total cost is $30 and you add 50% which would be $30 x 1.5 = $45
Now you may have already seen something a bit tricky here which is that it might be easy for you to work out your cost to suppliers.

Product Pricing Strategy #1: Value-Based Pricing
Value-based pricing is where you price the product based on the perceived value from customers. This means selling your products based on what customers are willing to pay. Maybe you are selling a bottle of water that costs you $0.10 to produce, but if you’re selling it at a music festival where people are dying to buy water so they’re willing to pay $8 per bottle.

If you used cost-based pricing you’d only sell it for a few cents more than $0.10, but with value-based pricing, you’re now selling it for what the market is willing to pay.

  • "Why increase your bids if you're already profitable on your campaigns in Google ads?” I get asked this question a number of times. So in this episode, let's talk about Google Ads bid adjustments and how it affects profitability.

This is a really good question and it makes sense on the top level. However, if we want to dig deeper into this topic, you first need to understand how the Google Ads Auction works. By doing this, you can understand that increasing your bids when you're already profitable can actually lead to way more volume of profits.

Google Ads Auction works by setting a maximum CPC or if you have opted for automated Google Ads bidding strategies, google will set this for you. But everyone has to pay cost per click. It's called pay-per-click marketing. The cost that you're willing to pay isn’t used in relation to your quality score to work out your ad rank and basically, in simple terms, there's a lot to get into here.

It simply means that if you're willing to pay more per click, then you're going to get a high position in the auction and you're going to get a bigger volume of clicks. However, those clicks are going to be more expensive.

How does this relate to profitability?
You have two metrics for this: average profit per conversion and the actual total volume of profits. There's a bit of a battle between these two metrics right now. When you're asking this question because you might be profitable on a product level, this means that your conversion is making you so much profit. But because your bids are so low, you're just not getting the volume of clicks to make a massive volume of profits because you know theoretically that you can increase your bids in your campaigns. And yes, your average cost per conversion is going to increase potentially just a little bit.

When you really think about it, it's quite a complicated question because, as mentioned, you need to understand how the Ad Auction works. Watch this video to learn more!

  • There are different types of Ecommerce businesses that you can create, and you have to choose the best model or method that will work best for your store. In this episode, you’re going to learn the top 3 Ecommerce business models.

In this episode, we are going to talk about three of my favorite Ecommerce business types. These are all fulfillment methods to get your products into the hands of your customers. I’m going through each but something I really want to emphasize is that each method really doesn’t matter TOO much. At the end of the day, what's important is that your customers get the product.

    Ecommerce business model #1: Dropshipping
This is one of my favorite Ecommerce business models. In this method, you list the products on your site but your supplier ships the product directly to your customers. That means someone places an order and you send the address and customer details to your supplier and they just send it directly to the customer.

Advantages of this Ecommerce business type:
    1. Quickly test out your products and target audience without needing to purchase inventory
    2. No need to stock the products yourself

Disadvantages of this Ecommerce business model:
    1. The supplier might mess up the order
    2. It’s hard to deal with returns
    3. You can't personalize the packaging of your products

    Ecommerce business model #2: 3PL (Third-Party Logistics)
In this Ecommerce model, you buy the inventory but ship it to a warehouse where another company takes care of packaging it and sending it to customers. So when an order comes in, you send the details to the warehouse and they take care of sending it to customers.

Advantages of this Ecommerce business type:
    1. Allows you to not have to rent a warehouse or deal with employees
    2. Easily keep your eCommerce store fully remote

Disadvantages of this Ecommerce business model:
    1. Wrong products could be sent
    2. Shipping could take longer
    3. You couldn't customize the packaging

Ecommerce business model #3: Shipping the products yourself
This is where you get the products shipped to your house, garage, or your own warehouse and then ship them out to customers from there. This type of Ecommerce model allows you to make more profits while also having a really high-quality shipping and unboxing experience for your customers. It means that you can ship out orders really quickly and add notes and other gifts for your customers in the packaging.

Making mistakes is normal and it's nothing to be ashamed of. I can remember when I was still new to the Ecommerce industry and I don't know where and how to start. I made a lot of mistakes--mistakes that cost me a lot. But I also realized that Ecommerce is trial and error, where you need to constantly test your strategies and figure out what's going to work for your business.

These things are very common yet I haven’t heard a lot of people talking about the common Ecommerce mistakes that Ecommerce beginners should avoid. So in this video, I'm going through the top 4 Ecommerce store mistakes that beginners make and how you can fix them.

Ecommerce Store Mistake #1: Not getting reviews for your store ASAP
If you are just starting your store, your focus should be on sales and on other ways you can do to get more sales. And one of those ways is getting high-quality reviews into your store. It's one of the most important things you can do.

I’ve seen this first hand where Ecom store owners have got 10 more reviews added into their store and suddenly they’ve seen a big jump in the conversion rate. This is really good for your Ecommerce store because your new traffic can see who’s buying and using your products. It's incredible for building up social proof and showing that your products are awesome and people love them.

Ecommerce Mistake #2: Not setting up email marketing flow
This is a super easy way to basically get FREE SALES. A lot of people spend a lot of time and money on paid ads but they don’t follow up customers with emails to get them to come back and purchase again. Every customer you get, you grow your database of emails and you can go ahead and send them a tonne of different types of emails to get more sales. There’s so much potential here and it’s so cheap and this is how you can really make your store profitable.

Ecommerce Mistake #3: Spending too much time researching and not enough time doing and learning on the fly
Many Ecommerce beginners get so caught up in all these courses and learning and they don’t realize that they need to take action to learn. You’re going to learn much more quickly when it’s your money on the line and when you’re testing and seeing results.

I think a lot of beginners also think that they can just copy whatever strategy I recommend and it will always work for their store. However, it doesn't work like that. You need to listen to the stuff I’m teaching and apply it in your own way to your own store.

Ecommerce Mistake #4: Giving up before seeing results
Keep testing! Keep trying! Don’t give up until you really know it’s not going to work. I made this mistake myself with my first store. I sold candy and I gave up after 2 sales because I couldn't crack Google Shopping yet. It wasn't until later that one of my marketing clients wanted help starting his store that I got back into Google Shopping and spent the time learning how it worked and how I could make it profitable.

I’m still working with that same store years and years later and he’s selling $500k worth of products every month!

  • In this episode, you will learn the biggest reasons why more people are setting up an online store. Starting an online business is not a walk in the park with all the time, pain, and money that you need to spend, but trust me! It will all be worth it!

Let’s talk about why many people are starting an online store in 2020, and why it's the best decision one will ever make. Here’s a spoiler: it’s not just to make money!

But seriously! Is starting an online business worth it? If it will cost you a lot of money, time, and headache, why bother and set up an online store? Well, I believe that there are two main camps here and I think you should try to adopt the strategies of both.

First, we have those people who want to help the world. Second, there are people who want to make a lot of money! And you need to figure out which camp you'd like to join.

The first group of people starting an Ecommerce business are the creators that want to help the world. They are the ones that love to make things and have created a product that people are finding useful.

Someone has told them that they should sell the product so that’s what they’re doing. They often start selling to their friends, at some local markets and they’ve set up a basic Ecommerce website and have an Instagram account where they’re sharing images of their products to their followers.

If you think that you are one of these people, then that's really awesome because if you’re doing this, then you have found a clear problem to solve and you are solving it. You’re also talking directly with people with this problem, with your target market, and you’re figuring out how you can create the best product to help these people.

The other type or online sellers (or the second group) are those that are obsessed with earning money, getting rich, and are not even thinking about how they can add value to people’s lives.

They think about how they can make their business as easy as possible for themselves; you know: passive income, or they don't have to do any work, or they just spend money on ads and pray for sales without doing any market research.

Yes, making money is important, that’s a lot of why we do this but you need to START with helping people. If you help people, the money will come and you will soon see all the benefits of online business.

Starting an online business in 2021 is again not easy, but it offers a lot of opportunities. It will be hard at first but when you know the ins and outs of Ecommerce, you'll realize the many advantages of online selling. But first, let me know in the comments below if your Team "Help the World" or Team "Make More Money Now."

In this episode, I’m going to convince you why Ecommerce is the future and the opportunities that await you when you start to grow your store now!

Ecommerce has been growing consistently over the past 10 years and it’s really hitting a massive growth period right now. I’ve been working in this industry for a number of years. I created my first store in 2013 which failed pretty miserably but since then I’ve generated over $12 million in Ecommerce revenue.

We’re seeing some crazy awesome stuff happening right now and the future of Ecommerce holds some promising growth and opportunities for online merchants. The industry is already growing fast but ever since the COVID pandemic hit in 2020, Ecommerce has been on steroids.

We’re seeing sales go up like crazy and we’re seeing the return on ad spend for our accounts increasing by 20-50% across the board. It’s incredible!

People that never really heard of or know how to do Ecommerce before this year are now purchasing their daily needs online. You have this big wave of a huge demographic of people that never previously trusted Ecommerce and never thought about buying online, but they’re now entering the market.

This is HUGE because it’s a big market of retirees that have cash to spend and it works really well for a lot of niche stores that have big margins.

I think that Ecommerce will be the way of the future and physical stores will largely be a place where people can go and try on clothing, see the products for themselves, but then buy it online where it gets shipped to them.

Ecommerce future trends are not going to be at all linear but what we know is it keeps getting better and better! So I would say NOW is the best time to scale your store!

I love Ecommerce! It's my bread and butter. My experience and passion for helping other Ecom store owners (both Ecommerce beginners and experts) have helped me generate over $12 million in sales selling products online over the past few years which I think is pretty awesome.

So in this episode, I'm going to tell you what is ecommerce and how it works. If you are new to the industry and have no idea what it is, my goal is to help you here.

    What is Ecommerce?
Ecommerce is the buying of goods or services via the Internet. Usually, people use it to talk about selling physical products online. However, it’s any sort of commerce or business that happens in the Internet.

Today, Ecommerce business is a massive field and there are hundreds of thousands of stores selling products online to millions and millions of different people around the world. It’s an absolutely booming industry and Ecommerce in 2021 is still growing bigger and bigger!

How can you get into Ecommerce?
You can be a consumer and you can also be a seller. You can buy products from Ecommerce stores; a lot of people do this all the time.

You can also set up your own Ecommerce store. You just need to have a website and a product, and that’s it.

    How does Ecommerce work?
If your customers want to buy a product online, they will go to your website or search the product in Google. If you've optimize your Google ad, then it will surely appear in their search where they will click it, choose the product that they want, add to your cart, and then checkout through your virtual checkout. Then they pay the order with their credit card or through other online payments systems that your store offers.

You will then have these orders shipped to the customers shipping address and should take from 1 day to a couple of weeks to arrive on their doorstep. Now that's Ecommerce!

How to start an Ecommerce business? This is the first question that all Ecom beginners ask when starting an e-business and it's important to know the foundations of Ecommerce before you can start scaling your online store.

The first thing you need to do is TO START LEARNING.
Yes, this is the hard bit at the start as you’re getting introduced to this whole world. But doing your research and just knowing the basics of Ecommerce is your first step to start a successful Ecommerce business.

You’ll need to learn how to:
    1. Build your website
    2. Find great products
    3. How to listen to your customers and solve their problems
    4. How you’re going to fulfill the products
    5. How to get reviews for your products from customers
    6. How to get quality traffic to your website
    7. How to expand your brand into new areas
    8. How to hire people to run your Ecom store so you’re not doing all the work.

There’s a tonne of stuff to learn here but I assure you that there is a fun adventure ahead of you with learning all these things and a lot more Ecommerce business opportunities. But you need to be really careful. There are plenty of scammers and gurus out there who would try to sell you their big courses, but the truth is they don't have any interest teaching you how to start an Ecommerce store. They just want you to buy their overpriced course and take your money.

So yeah, I recommend holding off on buying a course unless you really research it like crazy, trust the person teaching, and you can even see reviews from other people about the course.

In starting your Ecommerce business, you might also have fear of failure, fear of success, or you just feel like you need to know 100% that what you’re about to build is going to work. All that knowledge in your head is worth nothing unless you use it. So create your first store and just focus on getting 1 sale. That’s your first goal. Forget all the money you want to make and before you know it, you already have a 7-figure or an 8-figure store of your dreams.

In this episode, we’re talking about one of the most crucial questions all Ecom newbies ask! ""How much does it cost to start an Ecommerce store?""

Let's be clear! There is no set budget for building an online store but starting an Ecommerce can really be started for very cheap. You can even start your Ecommerce store for just $100. Yes! ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS!

Let me break down the minimum Ecommerce startup costs:
    1. Website
    2. Product and shipping
    3. Payment processing fees

    Ecommerce Website Builder Cost
You need a website which will serve as your main platform to sell your product! But you don't need to stress about this because it's very easy to set up. I recommend Shopify especially if you are a beginner. It comes with a lot of templates so it looks great right away and it has everything you need to start selling. Shopify is also very cheap and you could start running a decent website for $29 per month.

    Product and Shipping Costs
You need to pay for this, too. Remember that the cost of your product depends on what you sell.
To give you an idea, usually the cost is going to be anywhere from 20 to 50% of the price you sell the product for.

Here are some of the ways you can sell products:
    1. Make your own product
    2. Import products and ship them from your home or warehouse
    3. Sell someone else's products and have them ship it

    Payment Processing Fees
If you use Shopify, they charge you a percentage of each sale as a fee for processing the customer’s credit cards. The fee does depend on your country and how Shopify charges cards but generally it’s 2.9% of what you charge your customer + $0.30.

It’s crucial that you take this into account when you do your profit calculations because this can take a chunk.

If you want to learn more about Ecommerce costs and how to build a profitable online store, listen to this episode now.

In this episode, we will be talking about CHEAP and EASY PRODUCT VALIDATION.

The Ecommerce industry is getting bigger and bigger, and everyday there are always new online stores set up by business owners who want to try their luck in online selling. They create a Shopify store, run some Google Ads, and wait for results. These are also the type of people who easily get scared and quit Ecommerce if they don't see any sales after spending $300 on their ads.

This happens all the time! But there are hundreds of ways to make sure you there is a demand for your product, before you even spend a dollar.

Yes! You read it right! I will show you how to validate your product without having to shred hundreds of bucks from your bank account! I’m going to talk about 3 SUPER EASY product validation process that you can use to test the market demand of your product.

How to Test Product Market Fit:

    1. Talk to people in real life.
No one even thinks about this because they’re so focused on making money online that they forget that they’re dealing with REAL people. It might sound weird to just talk to random people but you will be surprised at how open people are as long as you are polite and positive.

    2. List your product on eBay.
You don't need to setup a new website and you wont have to pay eBay anything unless you actually sell. Just create a new listing and get your product up there.

3 Set up a basic Shopify website and track interactions
You can start by posting the website into Facebook groups and forums where your ideal customers hang out. Make sure you contribute to these groups and add value before getting them over to your site. Add value first and don’t just spam.
