Take a look, it's in a book: Murder, My Dude!
We're taking a look at the Stephen King book so controversial, that the legendary author removed it from store shelves.
Rage was originally published under a pseudonym, and it inspired a series of horrendous crimes (mostly in Kentucky, for some reason). This week, we explore those stories!
BUT FIRST! This Week in Murder explores updates to some old stories and a senseless Bed-Stuy stabbing.
And, as always, we close with a game of Who Died The Worst!

Murder, My Dude returns to Episode 168! (or is it 169?)
Dorothy Stratten was not only one of the top playmates for Playboy Magazine in 1980, but she was also seemingly poised for crossover superstardom in Hollywood, where she drew the attention of one director in particularâŠ
By the end of the year, she was brutally murdered before her 21st birthday. In this episode, we explore her story.
BUT FIRST!!! This Week in Murder explores a Chicagoland Slaughter and a murder/kidnapping trial in England.
And, as always, we end with a game of Who Died The Worst?!
NOTE: Please excuse the technical/production issues about 10-15 minutes in.

Murder, My Dude returns for the 167th (and possibly final?) time!
In the Winter of 2013, LAPD officers and police in surrounding areas found themselves the targets of a rampaging killer hell-bent on getting even for what he thought was a broken system that had victimized him and cost him his livelihood.
Christopher Dorner was a vigilante with a twisted set of targets who targeted the very same police force he was once a part of.
This week, we tell his story!
But first!!! This Week in Murder explores a domestic incident gone wrong in Texas and a 98-year-old Nazi being tried as a juvenile.
And, as always, we close out (possibly for good?!) with a rousing game of Who Died The Worst?!

Itâs September, and back to school season is in full swing on Murder, My Dude!
While that usually means homework and recess for most people, for us, it means school bus accidents and one of the most sinister killerâs weâve ever covered.
Andrei Chikatiloâs life was a Stalinist horror story, with an upbringing dominated by birth defects, intentional famines, and World War II. These surroundings helped create a monster - one that would terrorize the Rostov-on-Don section of the Soviet Union for over a decade.
This week, we tell his story.
BUT FIRST! This Week in Murder explores the aforementioned school bus accidents and a hate crime in California.
And, as always, we play a rollicking game of Who Died The Worst?!

This weekâs feature is a rough one, given the age of one of the victims and how preventable his death was. 20 years after his tragic killing, we look at both the murder of one-year-old Zachary Turner as well as the killing of his father, Andrew Bagby.
We also explore the tireless efforts of Andrewâs friends and family to make sure that their deaths resulted in reform to help prevent others from suffering a similar fate.
BUT FIRST! We play with Chat GPT and explore current crimes in This Week in Murder!
Then, as always, we close with a rousing game of Who Died The Worst?!

It may be August, but Murder, My Dude is thinking cool thoughts!
If youâve watched your share of late night HBO in the 90s or 2000s, you may already be a little familiar with the story of Richard âThe Icemanâ Kulkinski, the self-professed hitman who seemed to love killing more than anything (with the possible exception of talking about killing).
How many of The Icemanâs tales of terror were real and how many tall tales from an attention-starved small-time hustler with a mean streak?
Listen, and find out!
BUT FIRST! This Week In Murder explores a cold case solved after nearly 50 years and the capture of the Long Island Serial Killer.
And as always, we close things out with a game of Who Died The Worst!

No, itâs not a shameless effort to court Red Hot Chili Peppers fans, this week, we venture North to explore a Canadian true crime case that left the nation fearing for (or just straight up fearing) their youth in the mid/late 1990s.
What happened to Reena Virk was every parentâs worst nightmare, and the ensuing legal wrangling is a case study in both the flaws of criminal justice and the power of forgiveness.
Join us, and learn about the story before it becomes the latest hit true crime miniseries on Hulu.
BUT FIRST! Jackson Wells regales us with tales from dating apps, and This Week in Murder explores two people being sentenced to prison and an unlikely person being released.
And then we close with a capital punishment-themed rendition of Who Died The Worst?!

Itâs a day full of fun and fireworks, and to celebrate the 4th of July, weâre releasing this weekâs episode a few days early!
And in our very special Independence Day episode, weâre going to look at not one, not two, but THREE stories of historical American Murders: the first known murderer in the colonies that would become the United States, an infamous massacre that helped kickstart the revolution, and the first fully transcribed murder trial in American history.
BUT FIRST! This Week In Murder takes a look at another âself-defenseâ shooting through a locked door and an unlikely plea for clemency in a California killing
An, as always, we finish up with a rousing game of Who Died The Worst?!

Yeah, Fatherâs Day was almost a week ago, but in the spirit of, âbetter late than never,â Murder, My Dude is going to celebrate it the only way we know how: the worst way humanly possible!
When most people think of killing oneâs parents, the name that springs into mind immediately is Menendez. Even by their own testimony, Lyle and Erik Menendez shot their parents 15 times with a pair of 12-gauge shotguns on August 20, 1989. They claim it was to escape from a lifetime of abuse, but those who put them in jail for life say it was greed, plain and simple.
In this episode, we explore their story.
BUT FIRST! This Week In Murder explores a childrenâs author accused of murder (and of making dubious internet searches) and a man long believed to be wrongfully convicted of murder is freed.
And finally, we close out with a rousing game of Who Died The Worst!

Itâs another of our tentpole episodes of the year this week: our 4th rendition of Pride, My Dude!
And in this episode, we travel to our CONFIRMED SECOND BIGGEST MARKET!!! In the glorious, wonderful, please recommend the podcast to a friend United Kingdom, where weâll explore the notorious Grindr (and Fitlad and Sleepyboy) Killer, who exploited questionable policework and killed four victims in the mid-2010s.
BUT FIRST! This Week In Murder revisits the 2021 (yes, 2021) Gabby Petito case, and explores a Family Feud Contestant gone bad.
Then, as always, we end with a rousing game of Who Died The Worst!

This week, we celebrate the birth of one of our own: Jackson Welles! We do this by discussing The Shining, the film released on the exact day of his birth, and by looking into the case of legendary murderous robbers on the lam Bonnie Parker & Clyde Barrow.
The story of the outlaw duo brought down in a hail of gunfire is so ubiquitous, it seems like folklore at this point. In this episode, Jackson & B.P. explore the real story.
BUT FIRST! This Week In Murder explores the latest in the cases of Jordan Neely and Lori Vallow (See our episode, Doomsday, My Dude for more on that one.)

In our latest episode, Jackson and B.P. (or is it Maximum Jackson-um and Pope Barnabas?) pay tribute to Florence Nightingale on what wouldâve been her 203rd birthday, if only people lived that long.
And they do it in a way only Murder, My Dude can: by highlighting the very worst of the profession that sheâs synonymous with. Charles Cullen is one of the most prolific âangel of deathâ killers in the medical industry, with a death toll suspected to be in the hundreds between the mid-1980s and early 2000s.
BUT FIRST - This Week In Murder looks at a brutal killing on an Arizona hiking trail and takes a deep dive on the killing of Jordan Neely.
And finally, we close as we always do: with a rousing game of Who Died The Worst!

In our latest episode, Murder, My Dude returns to the land of the rising sun to take a look at a pair of killings that drew international attention to a controversial custom.
Carita Ridgway and Lucie Blackman were both hostesses, workers at Tokyo nightclubs who were tasked with being extra-attentive to parts of the clubâs clientele - generally older, affluent businessmen. Carita and Lucie came to Tokyo from Australia and England, respectively, and though they lived there eight years apart, their deaths came at the hands of the same man.
This week, we explore their stories.
BUT FIRST! This Week In Murder explores the killing of a tech executive and a rash of âstand your groundâ shootings.
And, as always, we close with a game of Who Died The Worst!

This week's episode finally delves deep in to a thrilling, cutthroat world that we've never explored before: the insurance industry.
On a serious note, the brutal death of terminally ill Betsy Faria showed how depraved human beings can truly be. The terminally ill wife and mother of two was stabbed over 50 times, including once through an eye, and was left with a knife sticking out of her neck.
When her husband called the gruesome crime in as a suicide, suspicion immediately fell on him, but all was not what it seemed.
We explore Betsy's story this week!
BUT FIRST! You may want to skip to around 50-55 minutes if you're looking just for true crime content. At that point, This Week in Murder explores the fatal pursuit of a high-ranking Maryland government official turned fugitive and explores the mind of a family annhilator.
And, as always, we wrap things up with a rousing game of Who Died The Worst!

The weather is warming up, and schools are letting out. Itâs time once again for SPRING BREAK!!!
But the fun and frivolity all too often turns deadly, and perhaps never more horrifically than in the case of Mark Kilroy, a Texas Longhorn who went to the Gulf Coast to party like it was 1989, and he never returned.
The story of his demise has to be heard to be believed.
BUT FIRST!!! This Week In Murder explores the death of a mentally ill murderous musician and a dentist gone bad.

For the fifth time, Murder, My Dude turns its eyes toward the Emerald Isle to celebrate our oldest special: Murder OâDude.
And itâs a wild one, filled with bad accents and butchered pronunciations! Oh yeah, and a case. The death of Mary Gough Whelan was caused by an accidental fall down the stairs according to her husband, Colin. Investigators soon suspected something more sinister, but the wily widower had more than one trick up his sleeveâŠ
BUT FIRST! This Week In Murder looks at a death row inmate taking a parting shot at a governor and the assassination-style killing of a former Murder, My Dude subject.
And, as always, we close with a game who Who Died The Worst! And this one will make you want to stay home instead of going to that big concert.

Itâs an extra-special Murder, My Dude with more of a freeform conversation and a bit of a rest for our usual segments.
Instead, weâre going to take a look at our favorite murder-themed TV shows and movies.
And, unlike always, we DONâT play a game of Who Died The Worst!

The weeks immediately following the attacks on September 11, 2001 were wrought with paranoia and a sense that something else bad was going to happen imminently.
Those fears were made real on a smaller scale when it soon emerged that members of the media and the United States Senate were mailed letters containing spores carrying the deadly anthrax bacteria.
Though terrorism was initially feared, suspicion later fell on the scientific community whoâd have the access and know-how to carry out the attacks. In 2008, they identified the suspected perpetrator, but did they get it right? We explore the case in this episode!

Stay away from the woods (and wooded areas) - this week weâre taking a look at the Green River Killer!
Gary Ridgway currently holds the second-largest confirmed body count of any serial killer in American history. He was able to evade law enforcement for decades by hiding in plain sight (and because DNA testing was in its infancy).
This week, we look into his story!
