  • Street Says - tell a better story and you will connect with your audiences more than ever!

Hi all! Today’s episode is a bit more abstract than usual, and based around this idea of competition (in this case, the game of S̶i̶m̶o̶n̶ Street Says), and how it relates to showing up as your business/brand and the interaction that you are creating with your audiences.

Are you creating a competitive environment and tricking your audience?

If so, the reality is that you are not going to make a lasting impact, because well, there is no authenticity and genuineness. My goal with this episode is to share the message of “start with story, NOT trickery”so that you can achieve community in a world of competition!

Yup, we’re delving more into all of that, so be sure to tune in to the full episode!

  • On today’s episode of the ‘no Boring Stories’ podcast, we are joined by the perfect pairing of Kristina Bartold-Sorgota and Maria Tassi, Co-Founders of 'The Social Snippet'!

Through their social media consultancy, Kristina and Maria are actively changing the narrative of social media from being about hardcore sales and likes & follows, to a means of building a trustworthy and positive online community.

However, the duo share their resistance towards solely labeling themselves as a SM consultancy, and make it clear that they don’t just do ‘social’, but work towards marketing people’s dreams; their focus is on idea to impact!

In our conversation, we delve into both Kristina and Maria’s separate journeys and how they met each other in the middle at the right time, and then the development of their passionate business partnership.

There is a brilliant chat based around shame and how this feeling can affect how we show up and present ourselves online. We also dig into the impact of sharing ‘the personal’ on your business socials with your audience, and the value in embracing vulnerability. And of course, much, much more!

It is an episode that I am certain will have you saying, “you’re kidding, you too?” And that is all thanks to Kristina and Maria for being so open with their thoughts and experiences!

  • Are you making something for them or are you making something from you? The difference might seem small, but it will change everything.

That’s what we’re getting into in today’s episode of the ‘no Boring Stories’ podcast!

It’s an ‘off the cuff’ chat with a message that I just have to get out - We get hung up on showing up because we are stressed about what THEY are going to think, so the question that I’m breaking down here is - “Am I making something for them or from me?"

I’ll be sharing my personal experience, as well as some great insight from Jon Acuff who believes that if your audience doesn’t like what you are putting out there, it isn’t for them. He trusts that those who need what you are sharing will receive it and it will ultimately help them, but what is important is that you wrote it because YOU needed to do so.

This episode is all about the significance of speaking from the heart and showing up as exactly who you are/who you’ve always been, because when you do both, that is what is going to create clarity and authenticity for your audience.

Tune in, my friends! It's a good one :)

  • We have a very special guest on the ‘no Boring Stories’ podcast today... My good friend Jackie Serviss [People Strategist and Recruitment Agency Founder] who is full of so much wisdom and insight! Every time we talk, there is this magic conversation, and today is certainly no different.

In our conversation, we unpack the depths of the soul, and I am confident that this episode will deeply resonate with you all.

We delve into the transformation of unraveling to peacefulness and Jackie answers the question behind whether or not this peacefulness is intentionally created in life or is simply there. Spoiler alert - it is both.

We also chat about what striving means and looks like to Jackie personally, and how her swimming past as a child instilled in her this need for approval from others, which she has carried with her throughout chapters of her life and career.

Furthermore, Jackie shares a bit about how she is accepting praise with an open heart and actually receiving it, rather than shutting it down and moving on to the next thing.

We dig into the difference between arrogance and confidence, society’s role in creating ingenuine stories and labels for ourselves, along with Jackie’s work in unlocking leadership within herself and others. And yup, much, much more!

  • On today’s episode of the ‘no Boring Stories’ podcast, I am joined by the tremendously inspiring Carrie Cohen!

Carrie has been a practicing psychotherapist for over 20 years and is currently working online with both individuals and couples on their fertility journeys; she helps them to unravel the stress and trauma of it so that they can thrive!

In her work, Carrie indeed places a huge importance on people reaching a feeling of thriving, and this leads into a chat about marriage being “a healing vehicle to go through life.” When people are thriving [specifically as a couple], there is this opportunity to grow together and “utilize each other in healing ways, therapeutically”, as Carrie says so eloquently.

We go on to talk about how Carrie helps people [individually and as couples] to get down to the root of their story by asking certain questions, delicately pointing out discrepancies, and ultimately connecting with them on a human level so that they feel comfortable to open up emotionally.

Through sharing her personal experiences, Carrie gives us insight into how we can come to terms with our own story, get what we long for (and grow within that), as well as do the inner work to make our own choices.

Do you want to connect with Carrie and learn more about her world-changing work? Check out her Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/carriecohencoaching/] or LinkedIn [https://www.linkedin.com/in/carriecohencoaching/].

Thank you, Carrie, for such a passionate conversation!

  • Today is episode 150 of the 'no Boring Stories' podcast and I present you with the following question - Are you putting the fire out or are you part of the spark that ignites it?

A specific idea is constantly running through my head, and since we have hit this 150 milestone mark, I thought it was the perfect time to reinforce it and remind both you and myself that I am here to start something, not to end it.

I truly believe that when we share a message, it is to start a conversation… A conversation that will spark a fire in someone else’s life!
So, in today’s episode, I want to make sure you are all absolutely clear on how to start a conversation instead of being a boring speaker or storyteller that ends the convo.

Tune in to the full episode and learn the 4 great tricks [Fresh Idea, Relatable Story, Create An Experience, Converse] to do just that and make a valuable impact on your audience.

When you spark a conversation and not end it, as well as allow your audience to be a part of it, you are creating this amazing trust. This will then inspire people to talk about and share your message beyond the room you are in.

You will make an IMPACT and you will be remembered!

Thanks all for sticking around for 150 episodes. Can't wait for what's to come!

    -Alex

  • Word of advice: If you want to build something that lasts, you have to first dig for the foundation!

In today’s episode of the 'no Boring Stories' podcast, we’ll be talking all about your STORY becoming the foundation upon which you can build a strong and long-lasting business, brand and message.

In my experience, nothing creates a stronger foundation than doing the work, digging DEEP, and really clarifying your story. This is indeed the digging and exploring that comes before you build!

I’ll be sharing a little story and metaphor about how I discovered this or really remembered feeling the impact of digging a foundation, so be sure to tune in to the full episode.

A reminder that if you have a business idea, don’t move it forward with speed and anxiety; take your time, do some planning and create your foundation first, so that once the building starts, it is right.

  • What do you do? Why do you do it? And how does it work?

If you can answer all 3 questions above clearly, then you have a good story to tell and a great brand!

In today’s episode, I will be pulling back the curtain a little bit and helping you to see exactly what is behind my business, what is my business, what is my brand, and finally, what is the process I take people through in my story coaching. If you're wondering what the heck even is story coaching, I'll be sharing that too!

This is all in an effort to help you do the same thing for your business, brand and offerings; in other words, as I walk you through what I do, you will get a really clear picture of how you can do the same!

I am by no means proclaiming that what I do is perfect, BUT it is the messaging and idea behind it that I believe is near perfection.

This episode is a helpful guide so that you are not sitting here wondering not only how you are doing what you do, but what exactly you are doing, and more importantly, WHY you do it.

Are you confident you can answer the ‘what, why and how’ for your business and brand?

If you can’t, please reach out to me personally :) If you can, say it more often; use these 3 things all the time, but focus less on the how and more on the what and why. That's what your audience wants!

  • Can storytelling be sexy?

    You better believe it can!!

Today’s episode is sparked by a conversation I had with one of my story coaching clients. This said client had spoken at a conference and afterwards an audience member had told them that their storytelling was sexy. If you’re thinking of the ‘erotic 'Outlander' scene kind of way’, that is not the case :P Instead, the comment was intended to mean that their storytelling was attractive, engaging and made the audience want to lean in closer.

So, if you would like this in your storytelling or if you want to be an attractive communicator, then buckle up and get ready for Episode #146!

I’ll be telling a relevant and insightful story, along with sharing the clear problems that are preventing you from making storytelling sexy and then the three ideas you can focus on to be a sexy storyteller.

This episode is a reminder to drop the titles/roles and focus on your energy and emotions for a true and lasting impact on your audience!

Do you have a speaking gig coming up and don’t know what to say? I’m always here to help! Please connect with me by shooting me a DM, email or you can check out my website :)

  • Hi everyone! Today I’ll be piggybacking on the last episode of creating a great keynote speech, but going a little bit more behind the scenes. My focus will be helping you to create captivating content from social media captions to sales pages via implementing a basic yet impactful story-based process.

We’ll indeed be tweaking and working with the same structure I used in the last episode to make sure whatever you are sending out into the world is clear and captivating. That’s right, we’re bringing back the simple approach to creating content with ‘SOS’ - story, outline, spice. Specifically, I'll be taking you through the process of creating a sales page using SOS.

A reminder that when creating a clear sales page or clear copy, find the most important parts you want to say, and don’t get lost in all the details - trust me, your audience will thank you for this, be more engaged and yes, stick around! We’ll be diving much further into this, so be sure to tune in to the full episode... it’s a jam-packed one! :)

Have you put the SOS approach into practice with your own content creation?
I would love to hear about it!
