  • In case you didn’t know, the “one size fits all” approach to life is BS. Here’s what we mean: being productive, living minimally, embracing motherhood, and everything else we’re trying to do 24/7/365 looks different for everyone!

Today, our podcast guest is talking all about finding ways to be successful in your life - ESPECIALLY at the start of the day - in a way that works for YOU. Desirae Endres is the host of the top-ranked podcast, Minimal-ish, where she talks about all things realistic minimalism, motherhood, and intentional living each week. In 2018, Desirae and her husband set out to live with less clutter in their home. Soon she found that the journey to less was about so much more than a clutter-free home. Five years later, she has learned to embrace a messy, realistic version of minimalism, and she teaches others how to fit minimalism into their unique life, family, personality, and season. She’s sharing her tips for starting your day off in a way that will help you face whatever the day has in store for you. Enjoy!

  • The 90s were sick… like literally, sick. Here’s what we mean: the popular body type of the day was being Kate Moss skinny. If you missed the 90s or just weren’t old enough to remember Kate splashed across all the magazines, trust us, it was an unattainable look. While it’s easy to fall into feeling like we’ve come a long way since those days we want to face the truth: that the way women’s bodies are treated, the messages we receive, and sometimes even the messages we SEND are still perpetuating the idea that being thin means being beautiful. This episode is alllllll about flipping the script (and perspective) surrounding our bodies and saying goodbye FOREVER to the word fat. This episode is for the struggling, the body conscious, the body positive, and the Moms who want to empower their daughters to view their bodies in a loving light. Gear up Mamas, this episode is going to go deep and we are here for it - we hope you are too!Resources We Shared:Join our newsletter! • Remember the end of the movie Freaky Friday when Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan both have a better understanding of each other because they have literally walked in each other’s shoes? Or how about the movie Brave when Merida’s Mom finally GETS her daughter because she’s been able to parent differently? Shifting parent-child relationships are all around us. Today, we’re giving you all the ingredients to embrace the chaotic lifestyle of motherhood and strengthen your relationship with your kids – without doing a body swap or turning into a giant Scottish bear. Our guest, Marielle Melling is the founder of Lovin' Life with Littles, author of Peace Amidst the Mayhem, and her upcoming new book The BUT Book (releasing June 3, 2024). She helps parents simplify the hard stuff of motherhood, so they have more calm, stronger relationships with their kids, and more joy. Oh and did we mention she’s the busy mom to five kids ages 5-16, so when she talks about chaos, she KNOWS her stuff. • I. D. K. The three most dreaded letters in the alphabet for Moms everywhere.

There’s nothing more conversation halting than the “I don’t know” response when you ask your kids what they learned, how their day was, what they want to eat… anything. We’re not sure if it’s some kind of kid code or what, but we know it’s definitely not helping us have open and honest conversations that give us insight into their lives and potential struggles. Today we’re breaking down that IDK and talking about how to get your kids to open up - especially when you feel like I don’t know actually means “I’m panicking inside and have feelings I can’t quite explain”. We can’t promise you’ll leave this episode a parent/child relationship expert, but we can say you’ll learn a bit about communication and how it can help you and your child grow together and as individuals. We hope you love this one as much as we do!

  • Here’s why we love the 40 hour work week: Everything you do while you’re on (or off) the clock for work is financially rewarded… right?

Laughing. Out. Loud!! No matter if you’re currently working full time or the last ”official” job you held was in high school (SAHMs we see you!!) we know that the effort you put forth at work each day is not always rewarded financially or at all (again, SAHMs, we see you!). If that’s the reality of the world we live in, why do we use that approach with our kids when it comes to school and grades? Today we’re doing a little call back to a past episode where we shared that we DON'T financially reward our kids for good grades and let us tell you - this was a hot topic! We’re breaking down why we - and the research - believe that giving your kids money for “good” grades can be harmful, not only in their learning, but to their overall perception of worth at such a formative age. We’ll cover how to approach good grades and broach the not so good ones too. We hope you enjoy this week’s episode as we head into report card season!

  • If we’ve said it once we’ve said it a thousand times, being a Mom is like living life in a pressure cooker.Okay, we’ve never actually said that but we’re saying it today, and we mean it! Being a Mom comes with a lot of joy and happiness… and stress and worry and self-doubt and pressure and… the list goes on and on. Values play a major role in the way we live and EXPERIENCE our lives; it impacts our happiness and even perceived effectiveness in the many roles we hold in our daily lives. Today we’re talking all about WHY our value system is so closely connected to our peace of mind, HOW to identify what truly matters to us (instead of society), and how to live life feeling confident in ourselves. • So you’ve been listening to our podcast for awhile now. It’s actually been so long that you’re afraid to ask… what the heck IS Mom guilt?!

It’s that pit in your stomach you get when you’re headed for a weekend away with your girlfriends and feel like you need to meal prep for your entire family so they don’t starve to death while you’re gone (that’s not going to happen - fyi). Or the constant messaging from the world to be grateful for every spill, sniffle, and blowout because - you’ve got children so be thankful dang it! How about the pressure to minimize the mistakes you make, because motherhood - at least according to social media - is about getting it right the FIRST time. Mom. Guilt. CENTRAL! Today, we’re breaking down exactly what Mom guilt is, what causes it, and how to ditch it so you can live a happier life. Trust us when we say #MomGuilt is everywhere and we are SO not here for it. Let’s ditch Mom Guilt together, enjoy!!

  • Oh that precious moment when you welcome your daughter into the world. It’s full of so many emotions: joy, love, and excitement about all the bows you can put in her hair (if that’s your thing). But then there’s the inevitable and uninvited comment from a family member or sometimes the random stranger in the grocery store: “What a sweet little bundle! But just WAIT until she’s a teenager!”

Insert. Eyeroll. Here. We’re done defaulting to difficult mother-daughter relationships in the teenage years and ready to empower our daughters to use ALL the potential they naturally have. Lucky for us we’ve got THE expert on the topic on the show today to help us out! Chelsey Goodan is the author of the USA Today national bestseller, UNDERESTIMATED: The Power and Wisdom of Teenage Girls. Chelsey has been a mentor and empowerment coach to teenage girls for 16 years and speaks regularly to audiences about gender justice. She serves as the mentorship director of DemocraShe, which supports and guides girls from underserved communities into leadership positions where her work focuses communication strategies that make everyone feel valued and celebrated, creating psychological safety for everyone from teenage girls to CEOs. She is also a board member for A Call to Men, a national gender-based violence prevention nonprofit that educates men and boys about healthy masculinity. • Unpopular opinion: Sometimes, the gifts we get on Mother’s Day are more work than they’re worth.

Mother’s Day is right around the corner. That’s right people - gear up for breakfast in bed and the crumbs/spilled orange juice you’ll probably have to clean up for yourself after you eat it. Sometimes the gifts we get are well intentioned but… miss the mark. A massage is ah-mazing, but who is going to watch the kids or pick them up from school? A night out with your partner? Incredible, but are you in charge of booking a sitter and planning the kids’ dinner? And what about the very soft, but not very necessary robe you received AGAIN this year? As Moms we feel SO MUCH pressure to love every gift our family gives us. Today, we’re saying what we’re all afraid to say: sometimes the planning and additional mental load that accompany these gifts make them more of a burden. Hit play and learn how to get what you really want for Mother’s Day this year, not string attached!

  • Let’s hear it for apple sauce pouches and a side of… guilt?

We’re sure we don’t have to tell you that social media is PACKED with videos of Moms making some seriously deluxe meals for their kids from scratch, on the daily. Don’t even get us started on the Bentgo lunch box videos. While impressive, these videos can create a LOT of stress, worry, and guilt for those of us who don’t find joy in making meals or just enjoy handing our kids a store bought granola bar. It’s important to know where your priorities are as a Mom and where you want to put your energy - if that’s not food prep (and eventual consumption) for your kids - that is OKAY! We’re talking all about how to let go of the need to feed today and why making homemade everything for your kids isn’t worth it if it’s going to make you more stressed out. It’s like they say when your baby is an infant - fed is BEST and we believe that whole heartedly. Grab your favorite (pre-packaged) snack and take a listen!

  • Picture this: You go to the gym in your free time (LOL) and see a very athletic human maxing out because it’s #LegDay. They’ve got a CRAZY amount of weight on their squat bar and yet they ask for more because, well, they think they can handle it. Now, imagine if all of that weight was to do lists, errands to run, events to get to, things to sign up for, after school activities, and more. That, my friends, is the mental load of motherhood.

Today we’ve got a guest who is NOT all about maxing out when it comes to squatting your mental load as a mom but rather sharing that weight with your partner. Paige Connell is a working mom of 4 and content creator who brings awareness to the mental load of motherhood and advocates for equitable marriages. As if that isn’t enough, she’s also advocating for affordable childcare (preach!). She has been featured in Scary Mommy, The Today Show, Bloomberg and more! Paige helps mothers put words to their lived experiences so that they can strive for more equitable and happy relationships. The perfect pairing with #LegDay or everyday, this episode is one that speaks straight to the heart.

  • It’s become the most dreaded question at your child's annual checkup: how much screentime does your child get in a day? If you’re like us, you may have lied about it in the past to feel like you’re “not a bad Mom”. We’re here to tell you: not only are you not a bad Mom, but the pressures surrounding screentime for kids are RIDICULOUS.

That’s right, unpopular opinion today - we are OVER IT! Although a relatively new term in the world of parenting, screentime has suddenly (but not surprisingly) become just one more thing that Moms are in charge of worrying about, managing, and solving. And to be honest… this worry isn’t worth the stress on your mental load. There are all kinds of strategies and quick fixes out there to help you police this behavior with your kids but at the end of the day, we think they end up being a lot of effort, tons of energy, and little reward. Stop fighting the rough fight and relax. Hit play on your screen and let’s do this!

  • Once upon a time we got a one-star review. It was about our Happy Mom Summit and we don’t want to talk about it…Except we do.

No, we really, REALLY do. And here’s why: That one-star review unearthed a whole truckload of content to talk about with our therapists (and listeners). We’re talking all about our reaction to criticism and how being people pleasers by nature makes this a difficult thing to manage. Many of us put ourselves out there in one way or another each day - at work, on social media, with our family - and sometimes we get responses that aren’t the most uplifting. But hold the phone! In a world where there is a lot of positive - why do we choose to see the negative? As women, we should be building each other up. If you’re feeling this in a big way, this episode will be enlightening. People pleasers, we see you getting uncomfortable (we’re uncomfortable too) but we’re so glad you’re here. Hit play, take a listen, and let’s talk about how to be people pleasers for OURSELVES!

In this episode of the No Guilt Mom podcast you’ll learn:

Common struggles People Pleasers face including how to deal with criticism

The importance of understanding your own tendencies when it comes to handling criticism or negative feedback

The role self care plays in helping us manage our emotions (hello getting enough sleep!!)

How to set healthy boundaries that will help you cultivate your confidence in whatever you’re doing

  • Some people say that running a home with children is like running a Fortune 100 Company… and those people are Moms.

Too often the distribution of responsibilities at home falls primarily to Mom, regardless of if she stays home, works part-time, or works full-time. One thing is certain: when Mom handles all the things at home, she’s always working OVERTIME. Enter our guest today: Zach Watson! He’s a self-proclaimed “recovering manchild” dedicated to teaching men about the invisible labor going on in their homes and how to redistribute the domestic workload. We’re talking things like help with cleaning, making those grocery lists, meal planning, and basically everything else. Hit play and buckle up for a seriously awesome episode this week!

  • Let’s get serious! Well, we are always serious on this podcast, but we do love to throw in some fun and humor along the way! In this episode, we're diving into some weighty topics that often come up in our balance coaching program. These are the lies we tell ourselves, the lies that make us miserable. You know, the ones that say we can't do something because we lack experience or resources, the ones that make us feel like we don't deserve happiness or that there's no time for us to pursue our dreams. Then there's the lie that says no one will like us if we take a risk and step out of our comfort zone. And finally, the lie that something is too overwhelming and beyond our control.

We're here to help you recognize and overcome these lies so you can live a more fulfilled life and be a positive role model for your kids! So let's kick those lies to the curb and step into who we are meant to be!
