Jack, Lynne and Matt dive into what makes the colour blue such a rarity in nature and how the Egyptians synthesized the colour blue for their garments and paints.
Junipers, flax, spruce, festuca, delphiums, iris, morning glories and chicory are just some of the plants that get the spotlight on this episode of The Growing Season.

Well, it's that time of year!
Many of us are annually planting our annuals on an annual basis. That's right, Jadies and Lents, The Growing Season chats annuals on this episode of TGS.
Jack, Lynne and Matt McFarland discuss many of the flowers you will be inserting into those sacred spaces left in your flower beds. Impatiens, begonias, nasturtium, morning glory, nicotiana and many more are all touched on.
Laugh along with the McFarlands as they debate which blooms longer, a celosia or a dahlia. It gets HEATED.

It's all about pot!
Not what you're thinking... This week's episode of The Growing Season is all about pots, containers and hanging baskets - anything that can be a home for those annuals that need to be contained.
How often do you have to fertilize a hanging basket? How many plants are used in a medium sized pot? What type of material is best used for pots?
All of those questions and more are answered by The McFarlands in their typical humorous style.
