The Sounders just finished playing seven games in 21 days, but did not escape remotely unscathed. In addition to losing Paul Arriola to an ACL tear, Pedro de la Vega and Jordan Morris also went out with muscle injuries.
In âWhat we learned this week w/Nikoâ Jeremiah and Niko Moreno discuss how the Sounders managed all those matches and how well positioned they are to overcome them.
They also think now is the time for the Sounders to use some of their flexibility to bolster the roster.

The Sounders went on quite a roller-coaster this week, enjoying their most impressive and dominant win followed by a depressing performance against Cruz Azul. Along the way, they lost three players to injury, one of whom is likely gone for the season.
Aaron and Jeremiah take stock of it all and try to assess what this means for a season that started with so much promise.
Later in show, MLS Season Pass commentator Ross Smith helps us preview the St. Louis City match.

Jeremiah and Niko also discuss the ongoing situation around JesĂșs Ferreira and the joint press conference between the Sounders and Reign.

Jeremiah is once again joined by Niko Moreno as the Sounders get ready to face Real Salt Lake in their second league match of the season. Niko provides some analysis of Real Salt Lakeâs early-season struggles and thinks this is a good opportunity for the Sounders to finally break their winless streak in Utah.
Perhaps more interestingly, Jeremiah and Niko discuss Pedro de la Vegaâs performance against Antigua and specifically some of Brian Schmetzerâs comments after the game. Although he walked it back a bit on Friday, Schmetzer somewhat called our de la Vega for some possibly unnecessary flair that may have contributed to Antiguaâs goal.
Niko also let us know about some drama surrounding Cruz Azul as the Sounders prepare for their next Concacaf Champions Cup opponent.

Weâre back with another episode of âWhat we learned this week with Niko.â There werenât so much new learnings as there were lots of bolstering of previously held opinions. The biggest is that Pedro de la Vega looked really, really good. He had two goals in this game and helped create another. This is a player who seems to be looking to prove a point.

The Sounders held their first official day of preseason training on Monday and while they didnât do much, we did get a chance to get to know a bit more about Paul Arriola, who officially joined the team earlier in the day after a trade with FC Dallas. The veteran midfielder seemed thrilled to be here and excited to start competing for trophies. Jeremiah gives a quick overview of what happened and what we should expect this preseason.

The Sounders made their acquisition of Jesus Ferreira official on Wednesday. To give us a better idea of what kind of player and person the Sounders are adding, we talked to FC Dallas insider Steve Davis. Not only is Davis one of the longest tenured soccer writers in North America, but heâs also the color commentator for FC Dallas and has been covering Ferreira for nearly a decade. Davis pushes back against some of the narratives surrounding Ferreira and thinks the Sounders have picked up a potential superstar.

With news that the Sounders have finalized the details of their trade with FC Dallas to acquire Jesus Ferreira dropping today, Jeremiah and Mark spun up a quick 30-minute podcast to discuss everything we know. They address the reality that this might not quite be what fans had in mind this offseason, but it undeniably makes the Sounders better on paper than they were last year. Beyond that, time will tell.
