What an honor this is! We have basketball royalty on the podcast today. Jackie Stiles is in the house! The SMS legend, WNBA All-star and Womenâs Basketball Hall of Famer joins us for an episode that is a must listen.
Before Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Plum, there was Jackie Stiles. Jackie Stiles is from small town Claflin Kansas and starred at Claflin High School. She led the whole country in scoring and holds just about every High School scoring record in the state if Kansas imaginable. She continued her greatness at Southwest Missouri State (Now Missouri State) where she went on to electrify Womenâs basketball and capture the attention of the basketball world with her inspirational play by leading SMS to the Final Four and rewriting the whole NCAA Womenâs basketball record books. She held the NCAA career scoring record for 16 years. Jackie earned the Wade Trophy and the Honda Awards Player of the Year, she is a 3x NCAA All-American, 4x MVC 1st Team and 3x MVC Player of the Year. She went on the be the 4th overall pick in the 2001 WNBA Draft, earned Rookie of the Year and was selected as a WNBA All-star as a rookie. She went on to be inducted into the Missouri State, Missouri Valley Conference, Springfield area, Kansas and the National High School Hall of Fame AND of course the Womenâs Basketball Hall of Fame.

For the first time on this show we finally have a former WNBA player on the podcast! This one is even more special because our local listeners will remember this name as well. Jordan Adams Smith is in the house! The Moapa Valley High School and New Mexico legend shares her journey in hoops for an episode you don't want to miss.
Jordan Adams Smith is from Overton Nevada where she has an incredible high school athletics resume. She was a 4x State Champion and 2x State MVP in Volleyball and a State Champion in Basketball in 1999 where she also earned Nevada Gatorade Player of the Year. She went on to have a Hall of Fame college basketball career at New Mexico where she was Newcomer of the Year, 4x All-Mountain West selection,Mountain West Conference Tournament MVP, and helped lead her team to their first ever Sweet 16 appearance her senior year. She is the schools All Time Leader in Blocks (Both MBB and WBB), All-Time Leader in Field Goals Made, 3rd All Time in Scoring. She was the 1st UNM player drafted to the WNBA she was selected 18th overall in 2003. She had a successful career in the WNBA, NWBL, Overseas and even the Canadian National Team. She went on to Coach at Moapa Valley High School and also at the collegiate level.
We had such a great time with Jordan and we canât thank her enough for sharing her experiences with us. For the first time ever we have Idaho State represented on the podcast. Idaho State legend and former NBA player Steve Hayes is in the house! It is an honor to have Steve share his hoops journey for an episode we know youâll love.
Steve Hayes was a high school standout in the state of Idaho. He went on to play for Idaho State where he led the Big Sky in both scoring and rebounding. He is Idaho States all time leader in rebounds and blocks. He is also 2nd all time in scoring. He is a 3x 1st Team All-Big Sky selection and he led his team to victory over UCLA which is known as one of the biggest upsets in NCAA tournament history. Steve was the 76th overall pick in the 1977 NBA Draft where he had a successful career in the NBA, EBA, CBA and Overseas. He was named CBA MVP and a CBA Champion during his time in that league. Steve shares great stories on growing up in Idaho, Idaho State, upsetting UCLA, journey to NBA, George Gervin, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, MJ, Julius Erving, Charles Barkley, Moses Malone, experiences overseas and MUCH more!

We have a special episode for all of you hoop heads out there. We have a Duke legend on the podcast today! It is an absolute honor to have Gene Banks with us for an episode that you do NOT want to miss.
Gene Banks is simply a basketball legend. He is the 1st ever McDonaldâs All-American MVP and he is known as the one who jumpstarted Duke University into a national power. Banks helped lead Duke to the National Championship game a Freshman after a losing season. He was the ACC Rookie of the Year, ACC Scoring Champion, 2x NCAA All-American. He went on to be the 28th overall pick in the 1981 NBA Draft where he went on to have a great career in both the NBA and a legendary career Overseas. Fuller played his college hoops at Pepperdine. He was the 93rd overall pick in the 1980 NBA Draft where he would be selected to his hometown Detroit Pistons. Fuller jumped right into the coaching world after just one season in the NBA and EBA. He had the opportunity to be a member of some amazing coaching staffs including serving as Head Coach of San Diego and State and Pepperdine. Itâs an honor to drop this episode today. We have arguably the greatest female high school basketball player to ever come out of Northern Nevada on the podcast! Local legend Ashlee Orndorff takes time to share her incredibly emotional story with basketball and sexual abuse in one of the heaviest episodes in our 5 years of Not In My House Podcast.
Ashlee Orndorff is from small town Hawthorne Nevada. At 6â2ââ she was ahead of her time and absolutely superior to everyone on the basketball court. She played all positions on the floor and had the complete skillset with the ability to score inside, outside and she made everyone around her stars. Ashlee led Mineral County High School to three state titles. Orndorff at one point held the state record for career points and still holds the state record for career rebounds, career blocks and the single-game record for rebounds (30) and assists (15). She was named USA Today Nevada Player of the Year in 1998, USA Today Honorable Mention All-American in 1999, She was named State MVP in both basketball and Volleyball in 2000 and she was selected to the Nike All-American Team. Orndorff was also ranked as a top 30 player and a top 5 wing player in the nation. Despite being recruited by the top programs in the country, she chose to sign with Nevada before transferring to University of Portland where she was the first in school history to earn WCC Newcomer of the Year and she also made WCC Honorable Mention. Ashlee shares her story of sexual abuse by her AAU coach that started at age 15 and continued throughout both her storied high school and college career that eventually led to drug addiction and depression...yet the ultimate bounce back story of courage and strength.
This was truly an honor to have Ashlee Orndorff on the podcast today. Out of all of the incredible accolades racked up and the difference she made in every game she has suited up for in her legendary high school basketball career, the biggest difference may perhaps come from her life experiences off the court to help the next generation. Her life may have more of a purpose now than ever. How fitting that she once again the ultimate difference maker.

During his Hall of Famer career he was 5x NBA Allstar, 2x Defensive Player of the Year and has both his College & NBA numbers retired. Mike Milligan is a basketball legend where to this day still holds the record for most points scored in a high school game in Long Island where he dropped 76 points. He went on to play college basketball at both Florida and Tennessee State. He was drafted in the 5th round by the Philadelphia 76ers in 1983 and went on to become a professor in finance. Dr. Walton was named a Parade All-American. He went on to a junior college before starring at Marquette where he led the team to successful NCAA tournament runs. He went on to be the 40th overall pick in the 1976 NBA Draft and played for both the Bucks and the Kings. He went on to become a senior career counsellor for the National Basketball Players Association and created Life Long Winner LLC Consulting. Dave Robisch is one of the best players to ever wear a Jayhawk uniform. His number 40 is retired and for good reason. Robisch is a 2x Big Eight Player of the Year, 3x First-Team All Big Eight and is in the Kansas Sports HOF. He went on to be the 44th overall pick by the Boston Celtics in the 1971 NBA Draft and had a great career in both the ABA and NBA. Merl Code was one of those players that saw the play happen before it happened. He played with love, passion, joy and made those around him better. He played his college hoops at Clemson and went on to play professionally overseas, including a stint with the Denver Nuggets. He later worked as a sneaker rep for both Nike and Adidas where he would eventually find the game he loved betraying him. Merl dives deep into his basketball journey from start to finish. He shares stories about his recruiting process, Clemson, playing professionally, his time at Nike and Adidas, and his book titled Black Market. Merl also speaks his truth of how the justice system failed, how he ended up spending 5 and a half months in Federal Prison, and whatâs next for him and his journey.

We are representing Cal once again today. Jamal Sampson is in the house! The former Cal star and NBA player shares his basketball experiences from beginning to end in an episode we know you'll enjoy.
He may be related to the Ralph Sampson but he created a name for himself at an early age. Jamal Sampson has played with some incredible players throughout his whole career dating all the way to his high school days. He played one season at Cal where he helped lead them to the Sweet 16 . He was selected 47th in the 2002 NBA Draft and had a successful career in both the NBA and overseas. Jamal shares great stories about playing with Tyson Chandler & Josh Childress in high school, Cal, Sweet 16 run, Draft process, Anthony Mason, Karl Malone, Gary Payton, Kobe, Shaq, NBA Finals experience, perhaps one of the WILDEST experiences overseas that we have ever heard on this show, and MUCH more!BIG thanks to Jamal Sampson for taking the time to share his hoops story with us today. The Crenshaw High School legend, Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and NBA Champ shares his hoops story from start to finish in an episode that did NOT disappoint. This one may have been a long time in the making but it was very much well worth the wait!
Tremaine Fowlkes played in an incredible era for high school basketball. He starred in an era that featured a handful of some of our favorite guests such as Schea Cotton, Ricky Price, Keith Closs, Jelani Gardner, Travis Reed, Chris Ott, and many others. He went on to play at both Cal and Fresno State before being drafted 54th overall in the 1998 NBA Draft. He had a successful career in the NBA and overseas and is now an author and college level official. Fowlkes shares great stories about Crenshaw, AAU, Schea Cotton, Jerod Ward, college hoops experience, Tony Gonzalez, Chris Herren, journey to NBA, Michael Olowokandi, Kobe, MJ, experiences overseas, officiating, his book, and MUCH more!BIG thanks to Tremaine Fowlkes for taking the time to hang out with us today.
