The poor start to the season goes as we fall to defeat against a very average looking Preston North End side. So what better way to go on than to drag a brand new American support for the lads to share the misery that is the start of the season.
Who is to blame for the season's poor start? Ownership for not signing a striker, manager for not starting our only healthy striker or is it down to the players for not performing to their ability? We'll talk about this and more today. -

It's a new season at the Stadium of Light, after a positive pre-season in the USA and an encouraging result against against top flight Spanish opposition expectations were almost high going into the game. Unfortunately being Sunderland that wasn't to be and Ipswich went back with three points in their webbed fingers.
I sat down with Albuquerque resident and co-commentator for New Mexico United Chris Hurst to talk about the game, life in America and all things Sunderland as they stand. -
The last day of the season doesn't get much crazier than this. All hopes are gone at half time, then before you know it we are in with a shout and then... in typical Sunderland style we make the play-offs.
So I sat down with Wyoming resident and returning guest Anthony Stephenson to go over what was an absolutely manic day. Still sitting here wondering how we managed it after the Watford game.

We're back!!!
This week sees the return of David Colquhoun who lives in Maryland. We have a great chat about the merits of a hard fought draw against Luton Town, how we think Gelhardt is working (or not) since his signing and take a little time to put everything right in the Sunderland world. -
We're back and we were intending to talk about Sunderland's great win away to Norwich City which helped us retain the Friendly Cup. Instead we get side-tracked and talk about the wider picture for this season and what we feel is the best way forward.

It's taken some time to get this up and running, but we are back and delighted to be able to post this episode that we filmed with Justin after Christmas. We came so close to nailing our charity bet (curse you Amad) and we had a good chat about what we thought we needed in January... Oh how wrong we were.

The unusual Friday night game ended up in a win for Sunderland if not the greatest display we've ever put on. That said we have a first time guest in the form of David Colquhoun, David is originally from Sheffield and currently finds himself in Maryland via Sunderland Uni.
Tonight I talk with him about the result, the goals and where we look to be coming back from the World Cup break. -
It was an awful match to watch, but fortunately we got two for the price of one this week. SAFC NASA Branch Secretary John Ellington and fellow Pennsylvanian Pete Beck were attending the Toronto branch get together and put their enjoyment on hold to talk to the podcast today.
