The early morning hours of Thanksgiving of 2024, the world lost an incredible man. The podcast and paranormal communities deeply mourn the loss of the amazing Jerry Paulley. Those who knew him know just how special a human being he really truly was. Founder and host of Hillbilly Horror Stories, the phenomenal Paulley duo, husband and wife team Jerry and Tracy for years brought their listeners laughs, haunts, stories, jokes and so much more.
Tessa shares stories that Jerry told here during a radio interview between them several years ago, also included are several accounts from other folks, including some of Jerry's own family members.
Jerry you are sorely missed. Rest In Peace my dear sweet friend. You are loved.

Honestly this episode had me yanking my hair out, cursing under my breath repeatedly, and literally crying. The curse of working on the halloween episode lives on, I ran into challenges, obstacles and a list of tech snafu's - one after another. The 🧙♀️ Witch of November comes with a vengeance and for two days in 1905 she will batter the area, taking 29 🚤 vessels down with, sending 36 men to their 🪦 watery graves. Dubbed as the Mataafa Strom, they knew this could not happen again and Split Rock Lighthouse was built, which has a haunting tale of its own, and then of course the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald... known as the Titanic of the Great Lakes.

Each year, Split Rock Lighthouse is lit on the anniversary of the wreck of the steamer Edmund Fitzgerald. The Fitzgerald was lost with all hands during a terrible storm on Lake Superior on November 10, 1975.
The weather was awful for the lighting. It was raining. It was windy. It was cold. There were 5 foot waves crashing into the shore. I stayed long enough to shoot just a couple of photos and then headed for the hotel to enjoy a nice pool and some warm pizza with my wife and kids.
