  • Danielle is all about inclusivity in casting. She has worked on projects big and small- most of them focusing recently on stories that cast people with physical challenges, disabilities and encompass open thought. She will go "out on a limb" to get the best actors for the jobs- defending her ideas for talent and putting herself on the line when it matters. https://www.dpdcasting.com/

You may not agree with everything that Eitan Chitayat says- but you have to respect him for speaking out against anti-semitism worldwide, and speaking out against all kinds of hate. He has done campaigns to support women, LGBTQ issues and you may know him for his recent advocacy work and the hashtag, I'm that Jew.
He speaks his truth through his art, his creative work as a brander, and as a writer. This is his link tree so you can dive into his work, his words: https://linktr.ee/eitanchitayat

Natie, his Tel-Aviv based creative agency, has been remote even before many pivoted their "brick and mortar" businesses to remote shops. He has only senior staffers, around the globe, who share his values and vision.
His clients have included some of the big corporate companies as well as little start ups with good intentions.
His work as advocate has been seen by millions and inspired some other celebrities- who have reached out to him-

Tiffany Haddish for one, who famously said "I can't believe everything I read... I need to (go) find out for myself."

She met with Eitan in Israel to ask questions. As a woman who identifies as black and Jewish, she wanted to find out what "the people who are actually experiencing...I wanted to see with my own eyes, hear with my own ears..." she wanted to find the truth for herself.
His posts have gone viral, way before October 7th (2023) he spoke out about the stabbings in Israel by Hamas,  January 7, 2015, a deadly assault on the offices of satiric magazine Charlie Hebdo in France. He did a Tedx Talk:"I'm not a stereotype. I'm that Jew."
Now he says "I'm exhausted...I'm angry..." and you can follow him on social media which he says he dislikes, but is necessary for now, to get the word out. To get the words out.

Michelle Zeitlin, founder and President of More Zap Productions & Management LLC, like Eitan Chitayat, grew up and lived around the globe. In (Madison- the snow- and sunny California) US, Israel, Chile and she worked in many countries through her creative opportunities including in Russia, Austria, Australia, Japan.
Eitan lived and worked in Hong Kong, London and New York. He grew up in and currently calls Tel Aviv his home.
Michelle and Eitan talked about the Academy Awards and Jonathan Glazer's speech- which has caused an uproar in the Jewish "Hollywood" population- both pro and con- towards his comments- and his movie, "Zone of Interest."
In a time of very layered and complicated issues in the Middle East, Eitan believes you must dig for the truth, and that's why he teaches his two young sons.

  • JOHAN VAKIDIS has worked with computers since his teens and took his skills in programming and early software and web development into the worlds of advertising and experiential event entertainment. Johan's work as a digital creative has allowed him to create projects all over the globe- from Montreal to Shanghai. His work in China and Korea and Singapore taught him the specific ways and protocols of working in East Asia. The "rituals" that are a part of business in these markets formed his "cultural fluency."Johan shared that "being able to trust the people you work with-- in China there is a hierarchy in business." Moving back to Montreal after 20 years, gave Johan a chance to try new ways of working - experiential design and working with huge brands where he integrated multiple adapted skills. A CCO by his late 30's, Johan has built not only major brand projects, but culture and collaboration. He is raising his teen son who got to interview skateboard celeb, Tony Hawk, on a Nike job- and is now enjoying his "intentional pivot" with his current position at C2, a company with the Kyu Collective. The "languages" he speaks include Mandarin, French, Spanish, Italian, Greek and some Italian- besides the ad speak, and the fluency in navigating the spheres of digital entertainment - while "scaling up!" 🆙 For More (ZAP) on host Michelle Zeitlin please see MoreZap.com or Passion-Power.com - If you are interested in being interviewed and featured on this podcast, please send an email. • Very Jerry Mitchell...

Jerry Mitchell and Michelle Zeitlin shared their memories of working with the legendary Michael Bennett and Bob Avian, on SCANDAL, a Broadway workshop with an outstanding group of stars and triple threats. Jerry was assisting the show creator, Michael Bennett at the original auditions, where Michelle was amongst over two thousand dancer-singers auditioning for a few coveted ensemble roles for this ground-breaking musical, at 890 Studios.

Jerry was an assistant and skeleton crew dancer on that production, which led to so many other amazing productions including FOLLIES and CHESS. He also worked with Jerome Robbins on JEROME ROBBINS BROADWAY. And then...he became a choreographer in his own right.

Now wearing the title of Director-Choreographer, he is most proud of BROADWAY BARES, and he was honored this year with the 2023 Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award for his work on a modern day burlesque show that has raised millions of dollars for Equity Fights Aids.

  • Tara Nicole Hughes has worked for 26 years with "Uber brilliant" director/choreographer, Rob Marshall on some of the biggest contemporary movie musicals including, Mary Poppins Returns, Chicago, Nine, and for two years she was a part of the entire pre-production, production and post-production process of Disney's live action, The Little Mermaid. With long sinewy legs and pure line, Tara was always a standout both on Broadway stages and film/TV sound stages. She has a reputation for a strong work ethic and elegance as a performer. The day of this interview, the movie, The Little Mermaid, based on the animated musical Disney film, opened to $10.3 million in ticket sales. Tara worked in London at Pinewood Studios and other UK sound stage interiors, and on location in Sardinia, Italy for all the actual real water coverage. She was instrumental in creating the movements for the actors on rigs, working also with Stunt Coordinator, Adam Curley to create the underwater illusions and she co- choreographed with Joey Pizzi -all the dance segments - some with the Alvin Ailey company dancers who were flown into England.
"I hope Disney shares," says Tara about the creative pre-production and process- "it's amazing." The biggest production number is "Under the Sea" and like the earlier, "Fantasia" film -they were inspired to create movement for the fish 🐠 and dolphin-like🐬 dance moves. "I am a bridge between departments...dance and stunts and actors and costume..." Tara also shares about the research and development and then the work "shutdown" for seven months for Covid. Principal photography finished two years ago, so it was exciting for Tara to see the movie come together and she smiled internally. "It's a really epic film. Rob Marshall has made a masterpiece.
The work of a choreographer can ebb and flow like the sea- there are tumultuous waves and flatter low tides and therefore Tara balances her career life with her meditational practice. In addition to her work with dance and choreography, Tara is involved with wellness and hosts retreats. She practices regularly to get to a "quiet, safe place" on the (yoga) mat. "I get so busy with my projects... so I want to get back to it. They are great tools 🧰.. to find a deeper peace and happiness."
Mom of two daughters, she enjoyed splashing in the sea with her very own two mermaids, aged ten and sixteen.

Also, if you're going to spend months typing and maybe years writing that book, says Sharkey, make sure you're also building your platform.People have to know you to find out about your book. Make yourself known on social media, and build your audience.Sharkey is also writing a children's book about an owl and there will be more on that soon..She also recommended a few children's books to the kid division of her publishing company. That's the main takeaway by host Michelle Zeitlin-

  • Christmas Day :What does a Choreographer do? Why isn’t there a union to protect (them) us? How does a choreographer work with a director ? Actors? Icons? From MJ to Madonna Vincent Paterson has experienced a myriad of emotions on set - taking care of delicate egos. He has set iconic movement on dancers and singers and celebrities. He has won accolades and toured the globe. But for me, it was the meeting of the minds of artists and their “process” that struck a chord. #work #Passiontopower #podcast #dance #camera #film #television #choreography #moveit #star
Vince’s journey and how his real life informed his creative life. Opera, theatre, features and many many commercials- and some we did together! #creative #host Bio: Vincent Paterson is a world-renowned director and choreographer whose career includes film, theatre, Broadway, concert tours, opera, music videos, television and commercials. He has worked with a star-studded list of musicians: Madonna, Michael Jackson, Van Halen, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Lee Ann Rimes, Diana Ross, Lionel Ritchie, David Lee Roth, Slash, Whitney Houston, to name a few.
Vincent directed and choreographed Berlin's first original production of the musical CABARET at Bar Jeder-Vernunft. As choreographer, Vincent has created many works for Madonna and Michael Jackson, including Madonna's BLOND AMBITION TOUR, and her legendary VOGUE performance for MTV. For Michael Jackson. • “Be the guy who people want to work with!” Says Chris Campbell, Director🍿 He is tatted, edgy, a little cynical and a pragmatist. He is also passionate about making quality work and being the guy people like on the set. Chris has been immersed in the YA space, namely directing young influencers for content that appeals to the tween and teen girl set. His commercial reel is impressive and he was awarded a student Emmy out the gate from film school that he thought would launch his career in commercials. “But no one cared.. the phone didn’t ring..” and that proverbial big movie offer didn’t come easy. He says there is no class that teaches artists how to make it outside of film school, so perhaps his story and guidance can help others on their young quest as aspiring directors. He does get super excited talking about cooking - and has experimented in the kitchen making all kinds of “fancy” dishes. He showed me his collection of taxidermy- and believe it or not- he has gotten pieces off Craig’s List! He has hunted but none of his mounts were his trophies. He used to ride his skateboard and for a hot minute pursued acting. His mother was always a big supporter of his goals. Now he is where he wants to be- “practicing” on the job and glad to work long hours on set with his hand picked crew. What’s next? Maybe a Hallmark Rom Com, maybe a Mystery or Thriller. Chris Campbell is open to opportunity and grateful when he is working. For more - see his website with samples of his narrative film work and his commercial reel. For more on host and producer, Michelle Zeitlin - please visit passion-power.com or morezap.com MZ enjoys speaking to all kinds of creatives about their “yellow brick road to success.” https://lnkd.in/g8znF9U9

  • From child actor to reality TV star as "the youngest agent" to top theatrical agent in Los Angeles - Nick Roses has had an interesting trajectory.
Nick Roses is currently a partner at Pantheon, representing actors in scripted TV, feature films, in unscripted programming and redefining their agency opportunities and platform. Nick Roses over came scathing Hollywood press and a dented professional reputation in the industry in his early years in Los Angeles - where he says he had to do "a lot of self reflection" and rebuild. He did just that, and now at age thirty three he has established himself and his agency department as being diverse, busy, financially successful and creative in the way they do their business for their clients. "We're really really really really involved."
"What I do is not just a job, it's a lifestyle and it's all day every day..."
Nick thrives at what he does and he is proud of the careers he's helped to shape and build. His boyfriend, also an actor, is supportive and understands that Nick is working when he's at a club or an event, or a premiere..."it's always work," says Nick. He says he hopes his youthful energy is a positive for the clients he serves and wants to be there for them. Though he underscores that show business is a business first, he does relish time with his clients and celebrating with them in a personal way.
    Take a listen and enjoy.

  • Ali Afshar is the founder of ESX Entertainment.
He races hot rods, he has been an actor, and he has built a sound stage in a barn in his home town, Petaluma, near Napa Valley where his company shot "California Christmas," in production during the Covid quarantines. Ali has built a company with a select and close group of friends who have all become busy producers, composers, directors and DPs. He has cast friends too- one woman he met as a waitress and now she stars in their newest Netflix romantic comedy. Many of his crew and team have met their romantic partners too- marriages have taken place on their studio lot up North.
"All our movies are American Dream Movies," says Ali. One of his financiers, the CEO of Lucas Oil, coined the phrase "Shed a tear, but leave with a smile." That's ESX's mantra and MO, but Ali says their movies are more PG than G, with more edge. Ali's company offices are on the Warner Bros. lot and he's produced movies that have been licensed by Netflix and HBO Max, and he's also in development of a TV series that he says is like Yellowstone with a Latin bent, "Casa Grande."
Ali is originally from Iran, and his mother passed when he was young. So his main advice to this podcast, Passion to Power listeners, is "don't wait," do what you love and don't do it for money...the money will come. Sounds like the mantra for Passion to Power.
Still racing and collecting "muscle cars," and making movies and doing the occasional acting role keeps Ali very busy. He is grateful and his team seems to work like a well-oiled machine- he ought to know.

  • “Hire me to direct!” Maria Capp knows that to get what you want you have to ask. She’s been doing the big “asks” for years/ whether to pitch a project to Tubi, Hallmark, or Netflix, or to raise funds for original movies she is producing and writing, or to ask for the best cast members to lead one of her movies for TV. With a family-centric and female-centric approach to movie making, Maria Capp has always made it her business to be inclusive and to employ people of all colors, ages, and represent people of different ethnicities, being cognizant, respectful and sensitive to stories that are culturally specific. She wears different hats including that of writer, producer and director, and she loves directing the most. She has a musical theatre background so she thinks with music and plays out scenes in her head before she blocks them with actors. She considers herself an actor's director, and immersed herself in technique classes in the Ivana Chubbuck method of acting.  Maria's movies are generally feel-good and she loves stories about families and coming of age and real relationships. She's directed with top actors that are loyal to her as they enjoy their on-set experience with Maria.  What's next? Maybe a Western, or Psychological Thriller...Maria is currently pitching several movies for TV and in post production on a film she wrote and directed on Long Island, where she grew up, with an indigenous story line based on a myth, "lady of the lake," on the Island, "Lake Ronconkoma." • Michelle Zeitlin is the host of Passion to Power and considered a Hollywood Insider, so it's a perfect match to have Jenn Boyce, who is the founder of THE HOLLYWOOD PREP as her guest on this episode.  As a Talent Agent in Hollywood for 30 years, Jenn Boyce has worked with thousands of amazing actors: Paul Rudd, Jessica Biel, Nick Robinson,  Shailene Woodley, Ava Michelle, Cedric Joe, Ciara Bravo and Storm Reid, to name a few. What Jenn is focusing on now is helping actors, kids and their parents to navigate the complex "Hollywood" industry in film and TV, and with her expertise in "on camera" commercials especially, to offer tools and resources and TIME that others may not be able to sacrifice- i.e. "agents and managers" in this show business.  What does it mean to have an agent? How do agents work? What do they expect?  How do submissions work? Technology has certainly made everything more rapid- sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Learning about preparation is imporant- and as Michelle Zeitlin offers- "preparation vs. expectation" is the way to move forward. Do what you need to do to be READY for those occasional wins! But don't have false expectations or think everything runs in a paradigm that makes sense to people outside of the "business."
