Sin (an evil intent, false thought and its consequent action) is man's greatest problem. It destroys his heart and warps his mind thereby blocking him from receiving divine affection and divine wisdom from God. Thus, sin makes man susceptible to diverse plagues from hell, rendering him powerless. Subsequently the man concludes he cannot overcome sin. Is it possible for man to be delivered from sin? What help does God offer to men in this regard?

The Church, in its full strength, embodies an equal union or marriage of Love (an affection for the truth we receive) and Wisdom (truth or an understanding of how life ought to be lived). Achieving this union requires living according to the truth we receive, through repentance. Therefore, truth must lead men to turn away from evil and repent from their old ways of life. Only then can they develop a sincere affection for the truth they have received.
Similarly, when working for God or sharing His truth, we must keep this principle in mind. Do you desire to be a âfisher of menâ? If so, what does Jesus expect from you as you go out to preach?

Doctrine teaches how a man must live and how he must believe. It is the foundation from which the scriptures are understood. Since everyone interprets the scriptures from the lens of doctrine, a person's beliefs significantly impact their understanding and life. Because of this, when a man has a false doctrine, he abuses the scriptures. Conversely, the man who holds the right doctrine has the opportunity to know the right things till eternity. This raises important questions: How does one come to know true doctrine? And how can a person identify or discern true doctrine when taught by another?

The Word of God is the very identity of God: without this Word, no man can ever know God, let alone have a relationship with Him. The pursuit of truth is fundamental to spirituality. Thus, the quest for truth forms an integral part of a manâs spiritual journey. But what really is the truth? Is it what the majority believes to be true? Is it what serves manâs selfish desires (interests)? How can man accurately seek and perceive the absolute truths that must form his doctrine? What should guide him in this vital quest?
In this message, "Seeking Truth, Making Idols," Pastor Jeffrey Walter teaches on what must guide a man in his pursuit of truth. He points out the danger of drawing strength from what the majority believes to be right and shows how God uses the minority to preserve truth with a church (generation). The intimate knowledge and revelation of God to man is not the preserve of a special group of people. All men are called to know God, and to live the kind of life He has willed for us as an inheritance: Eternal Life. If only we are willing to persevere and fight in pursuit of this, we will surely lay hold of it.

Men are destined to be co-laborers with God, that is, serving as vessels that can contain and express/manifest His presence. In order for this to be realised, man must abandon his will (desire), understanding (thoughts) and actions. Subsequently, he must allow God (the Divine) to take absolute control of them so that God will be expressed through him.

Only the Lord is actually building something of eternal value in this world. Jesus says without Him, we can do nothing. In order to bear Godly fruit, the Son of Man must lay his head in youâ this is what it means for Him to abide in us. But how can this be, when the âfoxes and birdsâ have a dwelling place in us already? What does it practically mean for the Lord to abide in us as used in this scripture?

The revelation of who God is, comes to man so that he may align himself in total submission to this one true God. Confidence in who God is and our willingness to conform to this knowledge constitutes genuine faith in God. However, man, who is set in his own ways with contrary affections and thoughts about who God is, forms for himself, an idol (i.e. a falsified idea of who God actually is) to serve his self-determined will and interest.

No might of the enemy is ever too great for God's deliverance power. Indeed, the Lord stands ever ready to contend with the evils that contend with us, and to set us on a path of recovery. Such is the unrelenting heart of the Lord God our Saviour, the Redeemer and Mighty One of Jacob!
In this message, âThe Lawful Captives (Battling for the Souls of Men)â, Pastor Jeffrey Walter assures of the Lord's readiness to set the lawful captives of the enemy free. He exposes the various strategies and conditions of heart used by the enemy to keep a man (the prey) strongly bound in captivity and in a state of spiritual insanity (madness). The Lord commands all believers to go into the world and preach the gospel. Thus, the ultimate call of all believers is to labour for the salvation of the souls of men. But how can the Lordâs labourers (believers) discern and know the people to whom they have been called to preach the gospel (sheep without a shepherd)? And with what posture of heart and mind must the believer labour for the souls of men?
In this message, âLabourers In His Harvestâ, Pastor Jeffrey Walter explicates the mindset, affection and foresight (hope) that the believer must have in order to be a labourer (soul winner) in the Lordâs harvest. The scriptures highlight three groups of people the Lord seeks to help: the stranger, the fatherless and the widow. Who are these people, and what kind of help does the Lord desire for them? How do we cooperate with God to bring help to these, and what connection does this have with our own salvation?
In this message, âThe Stranger, the Fatherless and the Widowâ, Pastor Jeffrey Walter starts by defining what good is, and shows how a proper understanding of what goodness is must inspire us to seek the salvation of the souls of men. Why would we dismiss as ordinary, the person God has sent to help us? Why do we question the spiritual authority He has placed over us? Why do we believe we are better off hearing from God directly and on our own, rather than through our shepherds (leaders)?
The answer to these questions is simple: pride. When we focus on reducing the one God has sent to us to just a mere man, we miss every spiritual influence that flows through the Lordâs ordained vessel to us. Truly, pride blocks us from catching the spirit of the leader who has been placed over us.

Leadership in the kingdom of God, unlike earthly leadership, places the interest (i.e, common good as determined by the Lord) of the people being served first.
