Hey everyone, I’m starting the week with a brand new Pen Tales episode coming fresh from the Podcast studio aka my office! :)
I had a lovely talk with London based illustrator Chester Holme. We spoke about how restrictions can help your creative process, balancing mental health and freelance illustration work, and his comics for Mirrored Dreams.
I was surprised by the melancholic mood in both his comics, as much of the work I saw before gave me a rather uplifting impression. We talk about the reasons for that in the Podcast as well. It made me love his work he submitted to the book even more!
Having Chester as a guest now was good timing for another reason. We reached our first stretch goal for the Kickstarter campaign! Every backer will now get a bookmark with one of his panels, added to every book for free!

Hey dear readers,
the second episode of the Pen Tales Podcast is out now. I’ve had an amazing talk with Dimi Pantazis, who explains his fascinating career change from scientist to designer to artist. We also chat about how he builds a buzzing artist community on Discord and why his next career change might include founding a school!
As always you can also watch the episode on YouTube, however this time only I have my cam on. I’m sharing some of Dimi’s work though 😉
Dimi is also one of the 13 artists contributing in the Mirrored Dreams Art Anthology book. He made an incredible comic and more, and I’m so glad we have him on board. The Kickstarter for the book will go live in 9 days and we’ll have a nice special for first day backers, so don’t miss it!
My next guest will be Ykha Amelz - the episode will be on Patreon for early access, as usual.
