  • Ever blurt out way too much and then spend the next hour replaying that conversation in your head? If you’re an ADHDer who’s all about genuine connection (but sometimes forgets to hit the pause button), you’re in the right place!

Oversharing isn’t just about being an open book that might make others feel awkward or overwhelmed—it’s about uncovering the hidden dynamics behind our ADHD tendencies. It’s a deep dive into how impulsivity and intense emotions can sometimes transform our strengths into vulnerabilities, even turning our genuine desire to connect against us.

In this episode, ADHD coach Zarina Boily dives deep into the art—and occasional misadventure—of oversharing. With empathy, practical insights, and a sprinkle of humour, she unpacks why our fast-paced brains sometimes turn us into an open book, and more importantly, how to decide what to share, when, and with whom.

    What You’ll Learn:

The Why Behind the Spill: Understand the impulsivity, intense emotions, and need for connection that can lead to oversharing. The Three Filters: Adapt Socrates’ wisdom by asking: Is it true? Is it good? Is it useful? The Concentric Circles: Learn to sort your relationships—from your ride-or-die BFFs to mere acquaintances—and tailor your sharing accordingly.Actionable Strategies: From pausing before speaking to assessing trust levels and tuning into your emotional state, discover tangible steps to reclaim control over your conversations.Personal Stories & Theta Healing: Hear real-life examples (including that unforgettable work moment) and discover techniques like Theta Healing to reset those automatic responses.

    Why You Should Listen:
If you’re ready to harness your ADHD brilliance without the cringe afterwards, this episode is your go-to guide for turning impulsivity into insight. Whether you’re looking for practical strategies or just need to know that you’re not alone in your “overshare moments,” Zarina’s warm, relatable style (with a dash of cheeky humour) will leave you feeling empowered and understood.

Because oversharing goes far beyond being an open book and making someone feel awkward and uncomfortable because you revealed too much, too soon. It’s about knowing what goes on behind the scenes of this ADHD-type behavior that can literally end up turning against yourself.

Hit Play & Listen Till the End: You won’t want to miss the simple yet powerful tools that can change how you connect with others.Leave a Comment: Share your own oversharing story or tip—let’s build a community where we learn from each other!Share the Episode: Know someone who struggles with oversharing? • If planning doesn’t come easy in your ADHD world, you can believe it’s never going to change because it’s always been that way or, you can shift your thoughts to create your new normal.

Holding on to a belief only hardwires it deeper, shutting the door to any possibility for anything to improve.

In this episode, Zarina explains why planning can be so hard for the ADHD brain and how any challenge, including this one, is far from being set in stone.

Through the Symphony Conductor Metaphor that makes it easier to understand what executive functions do, you’ll better understand how the ADHD brain works.

Among the three of her favorite planning tools she shares, you’ll discover one that can actually help enhance executive function such as working memory, impulsivity and organization.

  • The word structure usually make ADHDers cringe and want nothing to do with it, even if you know that all hell brakes loose if you don't have it. Do you know why that is?

Because most structures are not created for the ADHD brain, but the neurotypical one.

That's one of the reasons doing things spontaneously is the way we prefer, but did you know that when you navigate a structure that fit your unique brain style, you:

Create or gain momentum and that increases productivityReduce overwhelm and that decreases procrastinationEnjoy more flow in your days and less chaos.

If like me, you show any kind of resistance to using a structure, this episode is for you as it will help you figure out how to make it work for your brain, what the most important thing you need to consider when thinking about creating a structure is and words you can replace the words so that it generates expansion, not contraction.

  • Have you ever thought of ADHD happening for you, not to you or against you?

People like us would graduate with honors if they could earn a degree for all we’ve had to do to adapt to a world that wasn’t designed with us in mind.

The biggest mistake a lot of ADHDers make, mainly because they don’t know how their brain works, is using methods that are designed for the non ADHD brain.

Remember the good old days when Apple and PC operating systems couldn’t have a civil conversation?

You'd send a Word document from your Mac to a PC, and, you know, it was like trying to get a cat and a dog to read Shakespeare together.

The PC would look at that document and say, “What is this gibberish?!”

Meanwhile, the Mac was off in its corner, being all artsy and misunderstood.

Well, that’s pretty much how the ADHD brain operates. It's like having a Mac in a world full of PCs.

This episode is all about inspiring you to inspire and challenge you to look at ADHD with a different set of lenses and become the private investigator of what your brain needs more of to do things in respect to how our brain works.

  • When you have ADHD, you might feel that becoming more self aware of your distractible brain is like fighting a losing battle.

ADHDers pretty much live in their head which means they’re not paying attention to their bodies, patterns and behavior.

Fortunately, there’s an explanation for that and it resides in those two words: executive functioning.

Self-awareness is one of the most important keys in making life with ADHD less challenging because no system or strategy will be effective if you are clueless about what works and what doesn’t for your brain.

However, people with ADHD tend to have low self awareness and seem to fit the "absent-minded professor" description, which is someone who might seem a bit disconnected from their surroundings or what's happening around them.

Even if they appear to be absent or in their own world, unaware of what is happening around them, they’re not. They're deeply immersed and feel present and in the moment. They are present to thoughts that others can’t see.

This episode will help you shed some light on:

Why is being self-aware challenging for our brain? How can self-awareness be a game changer for ADHDers? What is self-awareness and why do we need it?How to develop your self-awareness muscle the ADHD way?

    And much much more!

Be ready to learn, understand and be empowered in making navigating ADHD-like challenges an enjoyable experience.

  • The saddest thing about ADHD is the narrative that focuses more on the pain and struggles than the strengths and abilities. Of course, it's an undeniable fact that there is a long list of symptoms that create a heavy burden of challenges.

When everything that doesn't work gets all the attention, it's hard, if not impossible, to see what does.

As an ADHDer, you have the power to choose the lens through which you look at ADHD; the one that zooms in on everything you can't do or struggle with, or the one that zooms out and allows you to see what is actually going well.

Here’s a few highlights from this episode:

Why what you pay attention to matters and how it affects the way you experience ADHD.How seeing ADHD as a difference came quite naturally to me and is at the heart of what I do.Why constant external validation of what isn't working can keep you in victim mode without you even knowing it, and how to break the cycle.

  • Do you find that living with ADHD feels like living life at high speed where fast is the only way to go?

Do you have a hard time knowing how to or what to say no to because you don’t want to miss out on anything?

If you’re under the impression that you’re missing out on the fun when you can't attend an event or didn't get an invitation and you feel left out/rejected, it could be FOMO (fear of missing out).

One way to beat it is to know where your reaction comes from, how ADHD and FOMO are connected and begin practicing JOMO, which stands for joy of missing out.

Part one of this episode focuses on the joy of missing out or JOMO, an emotionally intelligent antidote to FOMO:

What is JOMO and why foster it to beat FOMOHow what you value can help in finding joy in missing out. What you can do to shift from FOMO to JOMO and create your own joy of missing out formula

    Part two is all about:

What is FOMO and how FOMO shows upWays ADHD and FOMO are connectedWhat ADHD traits can actually make it worse

  • Do you have a fraught relationship with your mom with your fair share of arguments, conflicts, misunderstandings, fights, and the chain reaction of negative emotions and trauma?

Zarina sure has, and for the longest time, she wished her mother would change and be what she wanted her to be instead of accepting her as she was.

At 18 years old, she felt that the only way to break free from her complicated and conflictual relationship with her mother was to move 5000 kilometers away from home.

From the teenager who talked back, was disrespectful and hurtful to the woman who eventually realized that improving her relationship with her mom was only possible if she allowed herself to heal the traumas she experienced as a child, it has been quite the journey.

Learning they both had ADHD explained a lot about the tumultuous and fraught relationship they had for decades.

She thought that sharing what her relationship with her mother has been would serve other women with ADHD looking to mend the heart of the wounded little girl they once were.

Words have the power to heal, Zarina believes it deep within her soul and if you are a daughter seeking answers and understanding and it's no coĂŻncidence that she chose Mothers Day to release this episode.

By allowing herself to be vulnerable and share her story, she hopes it will serve women with ADHD who wish to heal their mother-daughter relationship, or at least, feel less guilty and shameful, like she once did.

  • Believing there is only one way of doing something and no other option possible to do certain tasks or chores such as folding laundry or reading a book. Thinking that you might as well do it yourself because you will have to re-do it anyway. Having to feel 100% ready before being able to take action for a new project or challenge you're passionate about.

Any of this sound familiar? As many of the challenges ADHD comes with, perfectionism shows up differently for us and it really helps to understand how it manifests to really give ourselves the chance to avoid falling in the trap.

    Why?

Because from an ADHD perspective, trying to do something and expecting it to be perfect will only result in intensifying your ADHD challenges. Task initiation is an example and when it is extremely difficult for you to get in action, what do you end up doing? Procrastinating.

As a recovering perfectionist, I now see how it was exhausting to always aim for perfection. It was also one of the factors that led me to burnout.

In this episode, we look at the impacts of perfectionism, how it shows up, what you can do to not fall in this thinking trap, but most importantly, the strengths that hide behind it. Yes, believe it or not, there are quite a few of those actually.

  • How does lack of clarity show up when you have ADHD and what are the impacts in the personal, professional and love life of folks with a uniquely wired brain?

This episode is inspired by a challenge Zarina experiences and that's  the inability to express feelings, thoughts, emotions. ideas and needs, so that they are understood.

Because everything is going fast in the ADHD brain, with information and thoughts travelling at the speed of light, it's a real struggle to select them, put them in a proper order so that the person at the receiving end gets it...unless it's a conversation among ADHDers because we usually have little or no problem tend to understanding one another.

Needless to say, lack of clarity comes with its load of consequences, from arguments with your significant other to hindering professional advancement, it is a contributing factor of separation or job termination.

If lack of clarity is something you are experiencing, this episode sheds a light on what happens in the ADHD brain that makes it difficult to express yourself clearly. It also gives you a better understanding of how your brain works and become even more aware of when lack of clarity shows up.

  • The ADHD brain is uniquely wired, which makes it hard sometimes to know if what you experience is ADHD-related or not, especially if you are new on this journey.

Beginning something new is exciting, even more so if something of high interest. Your brain fires up and when boredom doesn’t get in the way, levels of attention, focus and concentration are high.

The shadow side of it is when something comes to an end. It’s daunting.

One thing is for sure with ADHD, it comes with a lot of paradoxes and beginnings can also bring its load of challenges when you have no idea where to start, how long it’s going to take and what the different steps are going to be..

In this episode, Zarina helps you understand what executive function comes into play in the ADHD brain with beginnings and endings, why emotions collide and how tuning in to what’s going on inside impacts how ADHD challenges manifest.

She also shares a great exercise to help you find your transitioning pattern.
