Even if you donât have a cowâs milk food allergy, itâs hard to miss the fact that many commercially processed food products sold contain cowâs milk-based ingredients in them. Thatâs because dairy is commonly used by manufacturers to make many of their food products more appealing and taste better. Just think of butter cookies, milk chocolate bars, mac and cheese box kits, hot chocolate drink mixes, and goldfish crackers. Sometimes it seems like milk is used in nearly everything!
But when youâre trying to move into a full plant-based diet lifestyle or a vegan diet, navigating the commercial foods landscape can get tricky. Thatâs why I want to help. In this episode, Iâll show you how to easily spot common dairy-based ingredient terms on product packages with real-life examples. Letâs save you precious time and energy when grocery shopping, so you can move smoother and faster into a plant-powered lifestyle. Ready? Letâs dive in!

Thereâs a common concern I see among those wanting to start a plant-based diet lifestyle. And itâs this. Itâs a fear that eating this way will cause them to seriously lack key nutrients, because theyâre taking out meats, dairy, eggs and other animal-based foods from their meals. Do you have this fear too?
If so, iron might be one of those nutrients you are especially worried about when making this big lifestyle shift. Since meats are a source of iron, itâs natural then to be wondering, âWill eating plant-based make me end up with nutrient deficiencies and get health problems like iron deficiency anemia?â
Letâs talk about it. In this episode, weâll look at the importance of iron for our bodies, how common iron deficiency anemia really is, and what the recent research is showing. That way, we can better answer this question. Iâll meet you on the inside!
