In this episode, Karla and Pyper share contrasting stories of men approaching them on the street. Pyper had a good experience, and Karla...not so good.
Talking to strangers is better than hiding behind a dating app because of your fear of rejection, but you have to do it RIGHT: body language, the first move, and understanding social cues are VITAL to succeed. Listen to our stories and heed our advice.
Good luck, we hope you enjoy listening :) 🍋🤍

In this episode, Karla and Pyper discuss whether university is worth it: when you should go, when you shouldn't, and what to expect in either case. They discuss differences in education between countries, their families' history with education, and why living a 'holistic' life is important (beyond just being something you put on your uni application). Bonus chit-chat about the British sense of humour (aka being horrid people!!!! kidding lol).

Today Pyper and Karla discuss what a 'good mindset' and a 'strong mindset' mean to them. They explore how their attitudes have been influenced by their upbringing and parental pressure (or lack thereof). The girls speak about how lucky they are to have each other, and other amazing people, in their lives; you are the sum of the 5 people closest to you, after all.

In this episode we discuss Karla's experience with women in Syria. We discuss the issue of cattiness and betrayal among women in Syria - which can often be rooted in jealousy and competition -, as well as the intense familial pressure in Syrian society, the role of family in work and dating. We contrast these points with life in the West, asking ourselves whether these issues simply manifest differently?
Finally, we will discuss the lack of comprehensive sex education in Syria, and the challenges that women face in accessing reliable information about sexual health, sexual scripts, and reproduction. This ties in with talk of premarital sex, honour culture, and how Syrian women navigate their relationship with their father.
We hope you enjoy listening, we appreciate any feedback!

In this episode of Poshcast, hosts Pyper and Karla dive deep into the topic of obesity and how it's more than just a physical condition. They discuss the mindset and habits that contribute to obesity, and the importance of prioritising both mental and physical health.
Pyper and Karla share their own personal experiences with food and body issues, and how they have overcome challenges in their journey towards a healthier lifestyle. They also critique the fat-positivity movement, highlighting the potential harm of promoting unhealthy lifestyles under the guise of acceptance. They also discuss the problems associated with being underweight, emphasising that NEITHER end of the spectrum is healthy (for the average person).
Throughout the episode, Pyper and Karla provide talk about strategies for making positive changes towards a healthier lifestyle, including the importance of setting realistic goals, finding a support system, and making sustainable changes to daily habits. Attention is paid to mindset: the girls believe that high self-esteem is not a consequence of appearance, rather it comes from willpower, determination, and understanding that what is best for you is rarely that what is easy for you.
THE DISCUSSION IN THIS EPISODE DOES NOT APPLY TO THOSE WITH HEALTH ISSUES OR MEDICATION THAT AFFECTS WEIGHT. OBESITY AND BEING UNDERWEIGHT ARE HEALTH CONCERNS AND SHOULD BE DISCUSSED WITH A DOCTOR OR PROFESSIONAL. THIS IS JUST OUR OPINION.
We hope you enjoy the episode, we appreciate all feedback. Let us know what you'd like to hear us talk about next!

In this episode of Poshcast, Pyper and Karla take us on a journey through Syria, exploring the country's rich cultural heritage and its post-war struggles.
Karla shares her personal experience of returning to her homeland after 12 years, shedding light on the similarities and differences between Syrian and Western culture, and how it has changed from when she lived there as a child.
We delve into many aspects of Syrian life, including food, fashion, family, and traditions. We also confront the harsh realities of life in a post-war Syria, discussing the challenges that still exist for its people (& how most of us wouldn't last a day with controlled electricity outages).
With Karla as our guide, we get an intimate look into the beauty and complexity of Syria. She shares stories that are both heartwarming and chilling, providing a well-rounded view of this fascinating land.
Enjoy this insider's view of one of the world's most captivating countries, complete with anecdotes about missiles and talk of the world's best bread.
Tune in now to expand your knowledge and appreciation of Syrian culture, and to finally get an answer to the question you spammed Karla with last year: "why the f*** would anyone go to Syria?".
This is not the last episode about Syria, ask us any questions you have for the next Syria episode via Spotify Q&A or our socials.
We are currently in the process of writing a book about Karla's journey home, we'll keep you updated on the progress!

In this episode, Pyper and Karla discuss a topic they said they never would...dating.
They talk about how they met their boyfriends, why the sexual revolution has sabotaged women's efforts to have healthy and happy relationships, and the how the dating scene looks in 2023.
Pyper explains why she thinks confidence and extroversion are KEY when you're trying to meet someone (even if you're faking it) and why "stranger danger" won't get you anywhere. Karla touches on long-distance and how the slow-burn led to success in her current relationship.
