This episode is dedicated to the Palestinian 3-year old girl Reem Nabhan - Soul of My Soul - who was killed in Gaza by an Israeli air strike in November 2023. In her farewell, her grand father, Khaled was holding her small fragile dead body as he kissed her angelic face and eyes goodbye. Videos of Reem and her grandfather Khaled went viral on the social media.
Her grandfather, Khaled Nabhan, was killed last week in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza. He’s finally reunited with Reem: the soul of his soul.
Rest in power Reem and Khaled. We will always remember you.

Noura Erakat is a human rights attorney and an Associate Professor at Rutgers University, New Brunswick in the Department of Africana Studies and the Program in Criminal Justice. Her research interests include human rights law, humanitarian law, national security law, refugee law, social justice, and critical race theory.
Noura is also a Co-Founding Editor of Jadaliyya, an electronic magazine on the Middle East that combines scholarly expertise and local knowledge.
