Why not level up the controversy?
Reformed theology (i.e., the entire Bible's teachings) explains same-sex attraction with a cultural relevance and biblical faithfulness that few Christians can articulate these days.
Wait? The Calvinists are culturally relevant?
Yup.
Join us on this episode as we unpack how to engage with a culture which views any biblical stance on homosexuality as homophobic. How can we say God created people with homosexual desires without excusing those desires? Or, how can we say that people with same-sex attraction have inherently sinful desires while everybody else is "pure"?
Don't miss this important conversation designed to equip you if:
You or a loved one struggles with same-sex attractionYou are trying to engage with the culture on this issueYou want to understand what the Bible truly teaches about same-sex attraction and relationships.Don't miss next week as we kick off our new series, Behind The Fantasy: A Christian Response To The Porn Crisis.

This one gets heated.
If you search for the topic of "Singleness" among Christian podcasts, you'll find a plethora of episodes centred around this idea of the Single Season. Have you heard of that? Singleness is this time to focus on your relationship with God as you get ready for marriage. One problem. That's unbiblical, and actually hurts Christians more than it helps them.
Tune in to today's episode as we dive into what's so wrong with this language of singleness as a season. Explore with us these topics:
This language leads to depression among ChristiansA short discussion around the harms of retribution theologyWhat the Bible actually teaches about singlenessHow a single Christian is a witness to the power of the gospelThe mistakes the entire church has made around singleness and the steps we can take to do betterAnd much more! This is the second episode in our series, One Flesh: God's Vision For Sexuality. Join us next week as we dive into the final episode: Same Sex Attraction.

I wish I could say our world is as sexually confused as it has ever been. But it's not. It just looks different nowadays.
From ancient times, people have been living sexual lives far outside our normal experience - polygamy, raping children, harems for rulers. Our culture rarely practices these (although polygamy is on the rise - who knows when pedophilia will become acceptable again). But, our culture uniquely ascribes our identity with our sexuality.
Is this right? Is our sexuality key to who we are?
How should Christians live in a culture like this? How can we take grace-filled stands for the truth in order to try to protect the millions of children, women, and men who suffer at the hands of our sex-addicted culture?

TIMESTAMPS HERE IN SHOW NOTES.
Over the summer we did a series on Calvinism. However, that series was missing serious interaction from beliefs on the other side of the theological spectrum, namely Arminianism. Today, I get to interact with the head of the Biblical Studies department at Columbia Bible College, Jerry Pauls, on this very subject.
This was a fascinating conversation with Jerry, and I couldn't be more excited to share it with you - not only for the brotherly heart behind our disagreements, but because we were able to go to deep places and come away enriched by each other.
Enjoy (and let me know what other type of interviews you might like).
[00:26] Introduction - how this conversation came to be.
[05:40] Why does this conversation matter? Can we keep unity despite theological differences?
[09:02] What is Arminianism?
[13:30] How did you (Jerry) come to embrace Arminian theology?
[21:20] What Scripture passages are important to Arminian theology?
[24:10] What weakness do you see in Arminian theology?
[28:28] What are common misconceptions of Arminianism?
[37:59] How do you as an Arminian understand Ephesians 1:3-5?
[1:04:54] How do you understand God's sovereignty and human free will?
[1:20:57] Do you believe in eternal security? Especially as Jesus seems to speak of it in John 10:27-28.
[1:37:09] An Arminian explanation of Romans 9-11.
[1:51:02] Conclusion - unity despite difference.

It's one thing to receive letters or messengers from a distant relative, letters full of love and good news. It's quite another for that person to appear, in your life - to see them face to face. This is what God has done for us.
In this ultimate episode in our series, When God Speaks: The Doctrine of Revelation, we're exploring these strange and fascinating statements the Bible makes about Jesus, especially that he is the Word of God. What does that mean? We easily take that name as a given - but why is it important?
Join us this Thursday for Revolution's very first interview, and tune in next Tuesday as we kick off our brand new series - One Flesh: God's Vision For Sexuality.

The universe has to be 6,000 years old, right? And God had to have created the earth exactly as we find it in six 24-hour days, dropping cosmic bodies and flora and fauna around the globe like decorations on a Christmas tree, right? And if you don't believe this, you're a hell-bound heretic, right?
Not quite.
The relationship between science and Christianity disintegrated badly in the 20th century, and only in recent decades has the recovery process begun. Science is not opposed to Christianity. It's actually a way God speaks to us and tells us more about himself.
Check out some of the specifics we're tackling in today's episode!
Christianity doesn't = a 6,000 year old universe. How the Big Bang points to God's existence. The creativity of God in irreducible complexity.God speaking through the natural world is integral to our understanding of the Gospel. And more!
This is the fourth episode in our series, When God Speaks: The Doctrine of Revelation. Next week, we're dishing out the final episode, titled, Jesus: God's Ultimate Revelation. Don't miss out on that fascinating discussion on how Jesus is the true Word of God.

The as-promised follow up to our last two episodes. We have talked about how the Bible truly is God's word, and that God's Spirit does in fact still speak to the church today. But how do those two things play into my life?
I don't want to be so wrapped up in the Bible that I miss out on what the Spirit is saying today. How can I healthily incorporate the Bible into my life?
Don't miss our upcoming episode on how science, far from disproving God's existence, is actually one way God reveals himself to us.

I think I need to adjust the expectations from 20 minutes to 30...
Maybe you believe God speaks through the Bible - but does he actually speak to us today? In a fresh way? Like... are there really prophets around? Check out the questions we're tackling in today's episode!
Would modern prophets undermine the sufficiency of Scripture?Does the Bible teach us that miraculous, sign gifts ceased with the apostles?Does the Bible teach us that gifts like prophecy are still given to the church? How can cessationists and charismatics find unity? And more!
Don't miss a bonus episode coming out on Thursday!

Up this week, we ask a whole bunch of questions about the Bible. Is it really God's word? After tackling the nature of the Bible, we move into some tough practical questions.
Check out what we've got lined up:
Aren't there contradictions in the Bible? Why do we only have 66 books in our Bibles? Why not more, like Roman Catholics? The Bible seems like something for pastors and scholars - how can I access God's word?I don't like reading - do I really have to read the Bible?I don't want to miss out on what the Holy Spirit is saying to me today - how do I healthily incorporate the Bible into my life, without drowning out his voice? And more!

Welcome to the new era of Revolution. We're starting off with a banger.
"If only God spoke to me, I'd know he's really there." Have you heard that? Or thought it yourself? The thing is - he's already spoken. Everybody wants to hear God's voice; nobody is ready to listen.
Today's episode is kicking off a fresh series called When God Speaks: The Doctrine of Revelation. For the next few weeks, we're unpacking what it means to hear God's voice, how God has revealed himself, and all the complex issues that unfold. (How do we interpret his revelation? Can we ever know for sure he's out there? What about other religions?)
Jump in to hear the first episode, all about the universal human desire for God's voice, and our equally universal deafness.

Many of you have been with this show since the beginning. From Chase and Quinn's early days of figuring out how a podcast actually works, to the months of prerecorded content, through the guys' busy spring, and up through Quinn's departure from the show a year in. It's been quite a time! Revolution has evolved from the original vision of weekly conversations between two buddies about how their faith impacts daily life.
What is the future of Revolution podcast? Tune in to this week's episode to find out!

I'm not going to pretend that Calvinism is an easy thing to understand. I came to align with its core beliefs two years ago, and I'm still understanding the depths of deep work that faithful brothers and sisters in Christ have done within this theological system. What questions would you ask a Calvinist if you had 20 minutes with them? Well, hopefully we hit a few of yours in today's show! Check out the specific questions we tackle today!
Why does Calvinism matter if I'm already a Christian? If Calvinism is true, doesn't that make prayer useless?Isn't it unfair for God to elect some and not others? And much more! This is the last Calvinism episode! Next week is a surprise episode, pretty stoked to be prepping it for you guys.

So stoked to talk about the amazing grace of God. We all love God's grace, but... are we sure we really understand it? Check out what we're discussing!
What is Irresistible Grace? Why do we prefer the term Effective Grace? What does Jesus have to say about God's Effective Grace? How does Irresistible Grace work with free will?Doesn't Irresistible Grace make evangelism pointless? And so much more!Join us next week as we finish off this series asking the question: Can I lose my salvation? The episode will centre around the P in our TULIP - the Perseverance (or better, Preservation) of the Saints.

This one wasn't easy! There are a lot of misunderstood truths in the Bible - but the topic of this week's episode just may be the most misunderstood, even by Christians. Check out what we're discussing!
What is atonement? What is Limited Atonement? Does that mean God keeps some people from getting into heaven even though they believe in Jesus? Why do I prefer the term Definite Atonement? And to make things super fun: What is the nature of the New Covenant? It was made between God and... whom? Why does this even matter for my relationship with God? And so much more!Join us next week as we examine the Reformed doctrine of Irresistible Grace.

Today we are examining one of the most controversial doctrines in all of Scripture - the doctrine of election. Here's what you can expect!
What is election? How is election unconditional? Isn't election based on foreseen faith? What does Romans teach us about the nature of election? Isn't election impractical? Why does any of this matter? And so much more?Join us next week as we examine the Reformed doctrine of Limited Atonement.
