It's a mailbag episode! I'm answering some listener questions and giving my two cents. One listener is struggling with accepting her new body while dealing with symptoms related to a hormone imbalance. Another is wondering how to even approach quitting smoking and drinking. And finally, a listener wonders how to tell her meat-and-potatoes loving boyfriend that sometimes she just wants to have a girl dinner! I'll be answering some more advice questions in the future, so if you would like to be featured - anonymously, of course - you can submit via email or Instagram DM (see below for more info)!

Whew baby, we're back with another round of "I Have a Bone to Pick" featuring return guest and brilliant skincare maven, Charlotte Palermino! After educating us on the Tuesday episode, she is ready to blow off some steam and talk shit about all things DIETS and WELLNESS! The fact is... there are no facts! None of it is rooted in science. The majority of "wellness" is really about the pursuit of thinness, and we already know this. I bond with Charlotte over being stigmatized as a young child for being "chubby", being sent to camps that forced us to lose weight (although hers wasn't even technically a fat camp), and being asked "What's your secret?" when the answer is almost always GENETICS! This is a very passionate bone to pick for both of us, and will make you want to rail against the machine (hell yeah).

It's about time we talk about aging. First, I talk about Nikki Glaser's recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and react to her apparent plan to get a facelift at age 40, as well as other comments she has made about aging and her lifelong insecurities. Then, I talk about my love of skincare and the potential it has to slow down signs of aging (and whether that is even something we SHOULD strive for)! I talk about my recent exploration of Retinol, and bring in the founder of Dieux Skin, Charlotte Palermino, to give a thorough Retinol rundown, including tips, tricks, and product recommendations! See below for links to Charlotte's suggested retinol products for beginners and intermediates.

We got a spicy one today! Longtime friend of the show, Megan Ixim, is finally back to share her Bone to Pick with the men who leave nasty comments on her IG all day every day, and can't seem to admit to themselves how utterly obsessed they are with fat women. Not only is this a hilarious conversation, but also a window into human psychology and internet algorithms. Enjoy!

This episode is all about CHOCOLATE! I discuss my long-term relationship to sweets and how I incorporate sweets into my day while still maintaining a well-balanced diet of nutritious and satisfying meals - I even drop a couple simple recipes for my fellow sweets people! Then, I have a conversation with Alysha Kropf of Ecole Chocolat Professional School of Chocolate Arts, where they will teach you how to be a real-life Willy Wonka if you so desire! We nerd out about chocolate, bust some chocolate myths, and explore what makes chocolate so magical to both kids and adults. Prepare for some imminent chocolate cravings after listening to this one!

For this special Thursday episode, I invited my friend Erica on the pod for "I Have a Bone to Pick". We both have had a bone to pick with the women's fitting room experience for quite some time, but the most egregious one of all is, hands down, the fitting rooms in the women's clothing store Aritzia. This is perhaps the most niche Bone to Pick yet, but the girls who get it are gonna GET IT. Listen to us air our grievances with Aritzia, as well as other annoyances such as boyfriends being allowed in women's retail stores, the fact that all our clothes are made of plastic, and our traumatic high school memories of shopping at Forever 21 with our teeny tiny friends. This is a fun, unserious Bone to Pick for our fellow women who are SICK of the in-person shopping experience, particularly at "cool girl" stores that make you feel like overpriced garbage.

On this episode, I'm talking about GLP-1s and the icky way they are being promoted and sold to us under the banner of Wellness. I also talk about THAT Hims and Hers commercial that aired during the Superbowl and the ass-backwards messaging that we can't seem to escape. For today's conversation, I invited Dr. Erin Parks, clinical psychologist and co-founder of Equip, to discuss the impact of GLP-1 marketing on both people in larger bodies and people suffering from Eating Disorders. Once again, we never want to demonize anyone for taking any medication, but rather shed light on those who might be negatively impacted by the culture surrounding it.
A few corrections on the content of this episode:
Erin was correct that there was an elderly couple in "Titanic" who decided to go down with the ship holding hands. This was based on a real couple who made this decision in order to allow others to be rescued, since they were both quite old. It was truly a heroic act of self-sacrifice. (Source: Today)
Erin quoted the Hims and Hers commercial as saying "75% of Americans are overweight," and I had remembered it as 76%. Turns out, we were both incorrect. The commercial said 74%. In any case, it's pretty irrelevant, since the statistic is bullshit.

On this Thursday episode, I invited my friend and hilarious comedian Tracey Carnazzo on the podcast for "I Have a Bone to Pick." Tracey has a bone to pick with the societal pressure to "fix your face" with botox, fillers, and other cosmetic procedures. When did it stop being okay to have your own unique face? If you want more, Tracey will also join me for this week's bonus episode on the RIP Diets Patreon, where we'll play Eat It or Beat It and talk even more shit.

On today's episode, I seek to answer the question "What if I tried Intuitive Eating and it didn't work for me?" With the help of Binge Eating Recovery and Body Image Coach, Stefanie Michele, I attempt to better understand why Intuitive Eating doesn't "click" with certain people, and the most common things that get in the way when trying to heal your relationship with food. This conversation was pretty eye opening for me and made me recognize some patterns within myself that I had not thought too deeply about before. This is the perfect episode for anyone who's interested in Intuitive Eating, but doesn't feel like they are quite "there" yet!

It's the first Thursday episode of RIP Diets and it's a Good Bodies reunion! For this mini-episode, I invited my friend and former co-host, Lauren Hope Krass, on the pod to play "I Have a Bone to Pick." Lauren has a major bone to pick with the inflated prices of plus size clothing, and she is ready to air her grievances. If you're hungry for more, Lauren will also be featured in this week's bonus episode on the RIP Diets Patreon, where we'll spill some tea and talk even more shit.

Welcome to the season premiere of RIP Diets! In this episode, I talk about the American obsession with French women, particularly with the way they eat and exercise. Then, I have a conversation with my new French friend Lucile who gives me an inside look into the food culture of France, and answers all my burning questions. Do French people really eat all that bread, or is the "traditional French breakfast" actually just coffee and a cigarette? This episode explores what we could learn from the French attitude toward food, movement, bodies, and wellness... and if there's anything THEY could learn from US.

At last, the long-awaited season finale of RIP Diets season 4! In this episode, I'm talking about Charli XCX, why I stan her so goddamn hard, and how her latest album "Brat" explores the themes of weight, body image, girlhood, and generational trauma, while still being the perfect music to throw some ass to! We also have some related Food News about a plant-based "meat" company that seems to be having a Brat summer just like the rest of us. It could not be a more perfect time to end this season and usher in Brat summer at the same time. Stay tuned for what's to come in the RIP Diets universe!

Today I'm discussing my standom of Kirsten Dunst and other celebrities who opt out of trying to stay "young" at all costs. I also get into the Trad Wife trend, why cooking EVERYTHING from scratch might not be in the best interest of the kids, the return of capri pants and jorts, Khloe Kardashian's "inspirational" Instagram post, and a whole lot more.

We're back and we're THRILLED to be back (and by "we" I mean me, Emily). This week, I'm getting unhinged about the teaser of Megan Fox on Call Her Daddy, and break down each of her cosmetic surgery "confessions" from the interview. I also talk about the always transparent Kylie, the resurrection of the Choco Taco, and how Julia Roberts discovered what social media is. The podcast is not dead, people! Peace, love, RIP Diets xx

Today I’m talking about my irrational "fear" of McDonalds and fast food in general, and where it all stems from... the 2004 documentary "Super Size Me" by Morgan Spurlock. This movie rocked everyone's world. Back then, it was shocking that a man ate nothing but McDonalds for 30 days and... his health declined??? I'm not kidding - peoples' jaws were on the floor after seeing this documentary. For this episode, I watch the film for the first time in 20 years and attempt to de-program my fear of McDonalds, because at the end of the day, I'm not going to be taken out by some nuggets and fries.

Aaaaaaaaand we're back! On this episode, I read a listener's advice question about Binge Eating Disorder and offer tips on how to silence that voice that tells you to keep eating when you don't really need to. I give a personal account of how I took back control after years of binge eating (but remember, recovery is not always linear). Then, I break down some food news about a new coffee chain by the most loved and hated fast food chain in America, McDonald's. Enjoy yourself this holiday season and remember, DIETS ARE POINTLESS, especially during the holidays.

Happy National Cookie Day!!!! On this episode of RIP Diets, I announce some extremely relevant food news, followed by a deep dive on the very problematic one-size-fits-small clothing brand, Brandy Melville! I recount how I started casually buying clothes from this store, and why I am vowing to never buy clothes from them again. Brandy Melville is such a bigoted, racist, fatphobic brand and it cannot be ignored anymore, no matter how much they scratch that 2010s Tumblr Girl itch that we all have inside of us. There aren't enough crop tops in the world to make this kind of toxic behavior fashionable.

On this episode, I'm opening up about my mental health struggles this past year, dealing with loss and loneliness, and how my dog has changed my brain FOR THE BETTER. Then I get into my bone to pick with influencers distorting their videos with filters and using fake advertising tactics for more engagement, and I call out some of the more troubling ones I've seen.
