When I was born I was rushed to another hospital for emergency surgery. Never did I think the birth of my daughter would be similar... but for a totally different reason.
This year I was again reminded that the best way to move forward sometimes... is to find healing from the past.
I'm also always reminded that every person's trauma, no matter how big or small it seems, is still trauma to them. So even though we tell ourselves, "It's not that bad!" Everyone's trauma is their own to feel and heal from.

During this podcast we chat about ways to possibly view parenting from a different perspective. We also discuss how our own childhood experiences often affect our parenting decisions and relationships with others. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
During my intro I realised that I mentioned my daughter being "very good" when she sneaked into the room while we were recording. When I realised I had labeled her behaviour I realised how ingrained so many things are from our childhood; no matter how much work I do. In my work I often encourage parents to avoid labeling their children; and here I was ding the same thing. I was going to change it as soon as I heard it! But then I thought... hmmm it's an interesting topic for discussion. What would I have called her if she hadn't been quiet during the podcast?
Give it a listen and tell me what you think.

Today I am sharing my own story from childhood and a bit about how this relates to my work with parents and children today.
I have come to realise that bullying only has as much power as you give it, and we are never victims of our story if we don't want to be.
I hope you enjoy listening and please share with me what your thoughts are. Sharing my own stories isn't always easy but I hope it can help someone else in some way to learn and grow along their own journey.

This episode involves a great chat with Natalie! We discuss what play therapy is, why you would need to look into it and what you can do at home to be aware of some of your's child's psychological needs. Natalie and I share so many beliefs about children and their development that I'm sure we could chat about these things for hours!
If you'd like to contact Natalie here are the details of her practice in Greenstone, South Africa:

Janelle (from Sydney Australia) and I connected on Instagram and we really seemed to be so like-minded.
From a few of our Instagram chats I can see that we are on the same page about Positive Parenting methods and I was just so keen to chat to her! I hope more parents can take a step back and explore other avenues when parenting their children!
More and more people are seeing just how limiting traditional parenting beliefs can be! I'm realising that the more I spread this message- along with other amazing like-minded Positive-parenting advocates, like Janelle- the more the world can change! One parent at a time.
I hope you enjoy our chat <3

On my first ever podcast interview- I spoke to Jacqui Meyer from the Midlands in South Africa.
Jacqui shares with us how she left a corporate job, after severe adrenal fatigue. We discuss how she is now teaching Kundalini Yoga and building her life coaching business, to help other women so they don't end up in the same conundrum that she did. There are many other bits and pieces of info along the way as well!
Enjoy it!
