What do we do when we run out of steam in parenting? I love to dip apples in Nutella but once the jar is empty, no matter how much you keep scraping, your apple will come out bare.... our patience and ability to parent gently has limits and we have to find ways to change our patterns to get rid of the "Momster" because that is not what God wants for our families.

I have been on the struggle bus! I have been trying to find the perfect schedule to get everything done that I want and need to accomplish because in life isn't that what success is made of? Checking everything off the list?
This week I want to chat about why it can be so hard to find the perfect schedule and what I believe true success is. Because altough it is important to get things done and to be productive for our families, there is a bigger focus that we can often overlook.
I apologize for taking the month of September off. It actually wasn't part of the "plan" but life sometimes takes over and true to todays episode I've been trying to focus on what matters more; my time with God, being present with my family, and focusing on my health. But I am back and I hope to stay :)

After taking a few weeks off due to illness I felt this episode made a lot of sense. We are all struggling to find balance in the chaos of new seasons and new life chapters, but we have to realize the importance of caring for our self and I don't mean in a selfish "me time" type of way. How does motherhood relate to the Israelites walking through the desert? Homeschooling is not meant to be public school done at home! There is a mindshift that has to take place when you start homeschooling. Often we see these pictures on pinterest and we watch these families on youtube and they seem to have this homeschooling thing figured out! This can give us great ideas of what we want our "setup" to look like but all to often it sets us up for unrealistic expectations that don't mesh with our family or the way we do life.
